Why Chris Hacopian chose Texas A&M - ‘I Want to Be the Best Baseball Player Possible'

Next season will be a make-or-break year for Texas A&M head baseball coach Michael Earley. Fans had mixed reactions when it was announced he would be retained, but expectations were high for several changes heading into the 2026 season. The first major move was the addition of Conference USA Assistant Coach of the Year, Cliff Pennington, who brings valuable experience to the staff, particularly on defense and the base paths. Another area of focus was the roster, as several players had already committed to staying under Earley. However, he still needed to address the loss of production and pitching depth. After a slow start in the transfer portal, Coach Earley received great news late Thursday night when one of the top players available, Chris Hacopian, committed to Texas A&M. The former Maryland infielder slashed .375/.502/.656 with 14 home runs and 61 RBIs, adding instant offense to the lineup. In a recent interview, Hacopian was asked why he chose A&M. His response: 'I want to become the best baseball player possible … and I think A&M and those guys over there are going to accomplish that.' PFF feels Texas A&M will have 'elite' run game in 2025 behind veteran offensive line

It cannot be overstated how vital Texas A&M's offensive line will be this coming season in determining just how successful the offense could be, outside of starting quarterback Marcel Reed improving as a pocket passer. In the backfield, senior running back Le'Veon Moss will lead the way, followed by Rueben Owens and Amari Daniels providing elite depth. Under OC Collin Klein, the run game will continue to be a focus, providing Moss, Owens, and Daniels a pathway to leading the offense in what could be the most balanced attack in college football, thanks to the new additions at wide receiver, which will provide a boost to the passing game. Still, the run game is the primary strength, and behind Texas A&M's veteran offensive line, this group should lead the SEC in total rushing yardage. One name that continues to make the national media rounds is senior right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, who, after transferring from Kansas last season, has emerged as the team's top run blocker and will likely pave the way for the running back corps throughout the season. This week, Pro Football Focus previewed the Aggies' running attack, highlighting Reed-Adams and the rest of the projected starting O-line. "This is something to be excited about for Texas A&M. We've talked about just the absolute slew of ball carriers that they have. We're going to be flying all over the field, but it starts with this front five. And in their first year under Collin Klein, 27th in the nation in overall grade, 25th in run blocking grade, and it should be even better than that this year, especially with the diverse schemes." "And you got to remember, the first half of last year, they really didn't know what they wanted their offense to be. Now with the dual-threat (Marcel) Reed as they quarterback heading into the season with a full offseason as the starter, I think the diversity you can get into with these run schemes, with the way Collin Klein calls his offense, they're going to do alot of different things up front. But they're physical, they're talented, they're consistent; I think Klein's going to have them playing even better this year." With a veteran offensive line, especially one with extensive SEC experience, Collin Klein has a plan to keep opposing defenses off kilter with various run schemes that will feature Marcel Reed making plays with his legs. The talent is there, it's just about putting it together and playing with consistency. 14 College Football 26 Texas A&M player ratings revealed ahead of July 10 release

EA Sports' College Football 26 is set to release on July 10, but a trend that has emerged in the age of social media is that leaks often occur before official releases. In the College Football Franchise, player ratings are crucial in determining a team's virtual success. Texas A&M's 2025 roster is filled with talent and experience, led by an offensive line that features all five returning starters from the 2024 campaign, led by left tackle Trey Zuhn, left guard Chase Bisontis, and right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, who is reportedly the highest rated player on the team in College Football 26, according to the latest ratings leak. Thanks to Jaxson Callaway of AggiesToday, 14 of Texas A&M's highest-ranked players' ratings were revealed, and to no surprise, Reed-Adams, new wide receiver KC Concepcion, linebacker Taurean York, and running back Le'Veon Moss are the three highest-rated players on the team. For the Aggies to be successful in 2025, the run game needs the O-line to block at an elite level, while Concepcion and York will likely lead the team in several categories. Here are the 14 highest-rated Texas A&M players in College Football 2026 Starting quarterback Marcel Reed's 85 rating is respectable given his potential and need to improve in the pocket. At the same time, former Iowa State defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim could end up being Texas A&M's best Run defender and interior pass rusher after three successful seasons in Ames.
