Annabel Croft, 58, shares 'exciting' baby news - 'I'm looking forward to it'
Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft shared some exciting baby news as she discussed her love for her family in a recent interview
Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft revealed she's becoming a grandmother as her daughter Amber is due to give birth to her first child with husband Hector in September. The 58-year-old said she's "looking forward to enjoying every second of it" as she discussed her loving family.
While Amber, 31, is waiting to give birth, Annabel's son Charlie, 29, will be marrying Boodles heiress Honour Wainwright in August. Her younger daughter Lily, 27, lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with her partner of five years, Felix. Speaking of becoming a grandmother, Annabel said: "It's given us something so positive to look forward to."
The former tennis player said all her children have "wonderful partners" and the family all love spending time with each other.
'I'm really excited to become a grandmother," she said to Hello!"When you have children yourself, it's such a whirlwind and you spend your life sort of treading water, and you don't enjoy the good bits. But now I'm looking forward to just enjoying every second."
Television host Annabel went on to gush over her love for babies, adding they're "full of personality". Annabel recently discussed the death of her husband, Mel Coleman.
She said Strictly Come Dancing"saved her" following his death in May 2023 from stomach cancer. The couple married in 1993 after Mel, a professional yachtsman, taught Annabel how to sail for a TV programme.
The grief hit Annabel hard, particularly as she and Mel had planned to retire and downsize in southwest London. It was only when she agreed to - and lasted 10 weeks on - Strictly Come Dancing that Annabel, who won the San Diego Open in 1985, felt she could tackle her bereavement.
Speaking to The Telegraph this month, the TV and radio host revealed: "I don't know what I would have done without being busy. I would have sunk... Literally within a few weeks [of losing him] I was on the phone to my agent.
"He said, 'I've signed you up to Strictly. You're giving an interview tomorrow because they are announcing it'."
Following the series, in which Annabel came fourth, the grief became less raw.
The former tennis star said the pain now "comes in rain showers but they are getting less and then it's gone". She added: "I didn't know I had an incredible marriage, but I did."
With Amber's pregnancy and Annabel's plans to move to a smaller house near the Thames, there is "so much to be positive about".
"I don't want to be a professional widow. I understand that a lot of people can identify with what I've been through, but I don't want grief to define me," Annabel, who won Celebrity Wrestling on ITV in 2005, said.

Strictly Come Dancing stars share statement after 'difficult circumstances'
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Fans were left disheartened as Strictly Come Dancing luminaries Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola announced the cancellation of part of their evening's programme. In the throes of their Red Hot and Ready tour, Dianne, 36, and Vito, 32, were set to dazzle the audience last night (22 June) at the prestigious Shaftesbury Theatre in London's West End. The blow came for those who had shelled out for the Meet and Greet package; they received news that this element was axed. Emails bore the disappointing message: "We're sorry to inform you but due to very difficult circumstances that have occurred today, today's meet and greet with Dianne and Vito has unfortunately been cancelled." The communication extended the twosome's sincerest apologies and recognised the unfortunate disruption. It reassured ticket holders that, despite this setback, the pair were ready to carry on with Sunday's show. (Image: Red Hot & Ready) Guaranteeing a refund, the organisers strove to soothe ruffled feathers, reports the Express. This setback came after Dianne conceded to experiencing a challenging period on tour, confessing: "I've been struggling, I've had a struggle struggle week." In her chat on the Winning Isn't Everything podcast alongside ex-partner Chris McCausland, she confided: "Because I did have a moment, I've cried and everything, I had a moment where I thought, 'I feel really bad when I used to be so mean to Chris about being sick'." Joining in the banter, the comic jested: "Hang on, when we did Strictly, I'm just trying to think, even when I was bad or injured," prompting an interjection from Dianne who quipped: "You were quite sick a lot." (Image: BBC) He retorted: "How many times did I cry that wasn't for joyous, emotional reasons? How many times did I cry because of illness or pain or sadness?" After taking a moment to reflect, he humorously added that the number was "zero". In her defence, Dianne remarked that women often appear "much more emotional" than men, reasoning that hormones play a role. The dancer, famed for her relationship with YouTuber Joe Suggs, and her colleague Vito branched out following the annual national tour of Strictly Come Dancing – which, this year, marked the first time without its reigning champion. Chris, achieving a milestone as the first blind victor in 2024, missed the tour due to a calendar conflict with his own engagements. At that juncture, he released a statement regarding the tour collision: "I'm afraid I will not be able to do the Strictly tour. My own tour was meant to be on the road in September and a lot of dates were moved to Jan and Feb to accommodate doing #Strictly." He lamented: "It's unfortunate as it's been so much fun, but my own dates can't be moved for a second time."

Dave Myers' widow says memorial motorcycle ride has become ‘more than a tribute'
Motorcyclists returned to the TV chef's hometown of Barrow-in-Furness on Saturday, a year on from the first Dave Day, in memory of the 66-year-old who died last year following a battle with cancer. Myers was part of the motorcycle-riding cooking duo the Hairy Bikers with co-presenter Si King, who also attended the event at the weekend. A post shared by The Hairy Bikers (@hairybikers) 'It's magical and amazing. Last year we had the bike ride and then a concert, but this year there's been a lot more. It's been a full weekend of events,' Myers told BBC Breakfast. 'It just started with a bike ride. Started at Ace Cafe in London. We were in the sun. It was scorching hot at some points, water just dripping off all of us.' She added: 'The last stop that we planned, we couldn't do it because it was packed with bikes. 'So there were about 7,000 bikes in Burton-in-Kendal and we had to go past it. We couldn't stop. 'We got into Barrow earlier than we planned anyway, because of missing one stop, and we had about 40,000 bikes again on the roads this year. 'So many messages that I received from drivers on the other side of the motorways saying how amazing that was and how tearful they were to see the convoy. So (it was) really magical, beautiful. 'Then when we arrived there, we had a concert waiting for us. And on Saturday, a bike exhibition, bike stand, the Dave museum… It's so emotional.' She added: 'I'm on a high, very tired because I think I had a couple of hours sleep the whole weekend. But it was so uplifting and so wonderful to see all those people from all over the country coming to pay a tribute. 'And it became a little bit more than just a tribute. It was an occasion for people to manifest. 'Whether they were going through grief, through loss, whether they just needed a friendship, or a friend to talk to. 'I had a book signing, and I spoke with about 300 people that were there, and every one of them had a story about their health or about learning to cook watching Dave and Si on the TV because they've been part of people's living rooms for more than 20 years. And it's just amazing to see the legacy that they have.' Dave Day 2025 raised money for NSPCC Childline and CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria, an independent charity providing therapy and support to people affected by cancer. Last year the memorial ride raised £127,460.60, according to the Dave Day website. King and Myers were friends for more than three decades and fronted a series of cooking and travel programmes on the BBC from 2004. Myers' death came while the pair's last series, The Hairy Bikers Go West, was being aired – seeing them travel along the west of the UK from Scotland down to Devon. Outside of their travelogue series, Myers competed on Strictly Come Dancing and the duo published more than 25 cookery books.

Kevin Clifton reveals fears for his relationship with Stacey Dooley after they agreed to work together
Kevin Clifton has admitted he fears for his relationship with Stacey Dooley when they play a clashing married couple in the supernatural stage hit, 2:22 A Ghost Story. The former Strictly pro, 42, is taking on his first non-musical play - and will be doing it alongside his girlfriend Stacey, 38, who made her acting debut in the West End production of the hit show last year. Revealing his concerns as they prepare to take on the roles, Kevin explained: 'We're not a very argumentative couple - touch wood - we don't argue a lot. 'I'm sure it'll be fine. But also, Stace and me are very different in that Stace can very much go do her job, do it great, and then leave it at the door and come home. 'Whereas I'm a bit obsessive and I have to live and breathe the character. I'll probably bring the character home, which might get interesting. It could be the ending of us.' Speaking on the latest episode of the All That Chat podcast, Kevin admitted they will face challenges on stage as well as at home. 'When it's your partner in front of you who knows everything about you and all your insecurities and then you start playing this character in front of them... it's going to be weird. 'I'm going to have to get over doing it in front of Stace, and she's going to have to get over doing it in front of me.' Stacey and Kevin met in 2018 when they were paired together on Strictly Come Dancing, going on to win the series and later confirming their relationship. They now live together in Nottingham with their two-year-old daughter, Minnie. Kevin Clifton left BBC's Strictly in 2020 after seven years on the show, and has since starred in stage hits such as Chicago and Everybody's Talking About Jamie. Reflecting on his decision to do 2:22, he said: 'I'd wanted to do a play for ages. It's not just about musical theatre for me. I don't like being boxed in, and I feel like everyone sees me as a dancer, and then it was Strictly.' Stacey's casting for 2:22 came about through director Matt Dunster, a longtime friend of Kevin's who used to live near the couple when they were based in London. 'I went for coffee with him, and he was like, do you think Stace would ever want to try any acting? And I was like, I think she would, and I think she'd be very good at it. 'She can't sing at all... She's a terrible, terrible singer. I love her to death, but terrible singer. But I said acting, she'd be really good.' Stacey had to audition like anyone else - and impressed the team immediately. 'Matt Dunster called me... I was on my way to Sheffield to do Jamie [the musical] and he went, 'Mate, she was brilliant. The team are absolutely buzzing. She's a complete natural. Who'd have thought I'd be working with Stace before I'm working with you?'' Watching her on stage for the first time, Kevin said he was blown away. 'I was nervous going to see it because I just wanted it to go right for her. And I went to see her do it, and I was like, oh my god. She's better than me. She's amazing. She's really good.' When 2:22 was brought back, the couple pitched the idea of co-starring. 'When I heard that they were going out on tour again, we presented the idea to them and said how about the two of us playing it because we both have a gap in the schedule. And they just said that that would be a great idea.' Kevin and Stacey begin rehearsals next month, with the tour kicking off in Manchester in August. Their run will continue until the end of November. They follow in the footsteps of a string of high-profile pairings who have taken on the roles in 2:22, including Lily Allen and Jake Wood, Cheryl Cole and Hugo Chegwin, Laura Whitmore and Matt Willis, and Giovanna Fletcher and Busted's Tom Fletcher.
