Mumbai, the city of dreams, draws thousands each year, hoping to turn their acting aspirations into reality. Bollywood has welcomed all, bid farewell to many, and held on to a few. One of them is the actress who was once Miss India.
She left a high-paying corporate job and joined showbiz, but unfortunately gained only a little success in Bollywood.
We are talking about actor Aditi Arya Kotak.
Aditi presented India at Miss World 2015, after she was crowned Femina Miss India World 2015.
Hailing from Chandigarh, Aditi Arya Kotak completed her studies at Amity International School before receiving her degree in Business Administration from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. She also holds an MBA degree from Yale School of Management.
For joining the industry, she gave up on her high-paying job at one of the big four accounting firms, Ernst & Young.
Just like many actresses in the film industry, Aditi made her acting debut in 2016 with filmmaker Puri Jagannadh's film Ism, entering Tollywood opposite Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film was a success which further paved her way towards her Kannada debut.
She starred in her first Kannada film, Kurukshetra, and later in her first Hindi web series, Tantra by Vikram Bhatt.
Unfortunately, her Bollywood didn't turn out the way she had hoped.
She was scheduled to make her big Bollywood debut with filmmaker Kabir Khan's much-hyped 83, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
In the film, Aditi Arya Kotak essayed the role of Saqib Saleem's on-screen wife, Inderjit Bhardwaj.
The promising film failed to live up to the expectations of critics and viewers; it was a big flop at the box office.
The Livemint review of 83 mentioned '83 puts a hat on a hat on a hat, then wraps them in Ranveer Singh's fur coat. Every scene comes with four layers of good cheer. Even when India is losing, someone's always on hand with a wisecrack or a malapropism or encouragement for the future. If all else fails, there's Pritam's music to hit you over the head with. This much we knew: Kabir Khan was never going to make a restrained film on India's first World Cup win. 83 recalls his Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) not only in its sweetness and maximality but also its maddening simplicity.'
In November 2023, Aditi tied the knot to Jai Kotak, the son of Asia's richest banker Uday Kotak. Their lavish wedding took place at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace Udaipur and Jio World Convention Centre Mumbai.
Uday is the founder and former Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank.
According to Forbes, Uday Kotak has a net worth of $15.1 billion ( ₹ 1,25,000 crore), making him the 18th richest man in India.
Aditi was last seen in the Punjabi film, Teriyan Meriyan Hera Pheriyan which was released last year. She is yet to announce her Bollywood comeback.

Discover The 5 Best Film Locations In Bengaluru For Movie Lovers

Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru is not only a technology center, but also a paradise for cinema. Its green gardens, colonial-era buildings, modern skyscrapers, and busy roads provide filmmakers to capture various aspects of the city. From the romantic and poetic stories in Sandalwood cinema to the rough passion of urban dramas, the locals of Bengaluru have always been praised. Come, let us take you to Bengaluru's most celebrated film sets where the borders between reality and movie magic fades. 1. Lalbagh Botanical Garden: Where Romance Blooms Lalbagh Botanical Garden, known for its palm tree filled glass house, is a place of peace in the middle of chaos. This stunning 240 acres garden was established in the 18th century. The garden also hosts two exhibits for flowers during spring and autumn. It became immortalized in Kannada cinema with the blockbuster Mungaru Male (2006), as the protagonists' romance in the movie unfolded against the backdrop of Lalbagh's misty landscapes. From lotus ponds to rose gardens, the garden continues to lure filmmakers seeking poetic backdrops for love stories and introspective tales. One of the best places to visit in bengaluru is Lalbagh garden so make sure you take your family to this stunning place to relax and enjoy nature. Park & Vidhana Soudha: Nature and Power Go Hand in Hand Cubbon Park's sprawling greenery and Vidhana Soudha's neo-Dravidian grandeur encompass the dual identity of Bengaluru. Together they compliment each other. Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, Attara Kacheri, High Court, toy train, and many more beautiful structures that the city has to offer have hosted youthful escapades in movies such as Gaalipata 2008. And on the other side, Vidhana Soudha, the headquarters of Karnataka's vasigendra legislature, is frequently acted in political dramas and issues due to its stone facade that evokes authority. This enabled the structure to digitally foster the nature and institutional power combination. It ends up making the area a filmmaker's muse for stories spanning class to governance. 3. Bangalore Palace: The Perfect Cinematic Setting Approaching the palace seems like you are emerging into a Tudor fairy tale. As the architecture was inspired by England's Windsor Castle and was built in 1878, it is truly a marvel with its turrets, stained glass, and vintage photographs. The palace interiors poses ample opportunities for creative expression, including scenes from Bollywood's Bachna Ae Haseeno, where Khuda Jaane was performed. But there came a time where powerful Kannada films like Milana captured the moment in its gardens. Regail magnanimity is not paled in comparison by the perfect setting for republic pieces, making it a film maker's dream. 4. MG Road, Brigade Road & Commercial Street: Urban Pulse As the city's lifeline, this part of the city never sleeps. The shops on Brigade Road are always lit, Commercial Street is always buzzing with buyers, and MG Road's metro system places the cherry on the top. A Malayalam movie by the name of Bangalore Days perfectly encapsulated the youth of the city lifestyle, just like Sillunu Oru Kaadhal did when they filmed the city. The street side cafes, along with the graffiti that lines the walls, lures in tourists and gives a breeze of diversity, which makes helping these areas be a perfect example of India's metropolitan culture. 5. UB City & Tech Parks: Silicon Valley on Screen Testament to Bangalore's IT supremacy, UB city is home to glass and steel towers, while Manyata Tech park is known for its extensive campus. With all the expansion comes a region of corporate obsession and city alienation. The romantic suspense movie U-Turn (2016) used the technology focused areas of the city to add mystery to their plot. On the other hand, romantic UB City rooftop proposals are famous during night time. The theme of the UB region buildings extends the aspirations as well as the realities of India's IT Generation. Conclusion: Bengaluru — The City of Endless Narratives Be it the blooming sight at Lalbagh or the skyscrapers of UB City, Bengaluru has a wide range of film locations that match its stories. Each location possesses the potential to narrate new layers of a tale, transforming the city into a silent character that evokes various feelings. Whether you are a film buff trying to relive the scenes or a tourist trying to discover the heart of Bengaluru, these places offer an unparalleled experience throughout India's Garden City. Ready, set, action, Bengaluru — a city where every single place has a different tale carved on it.

Film sets can't replicate the spirit of real locations: Director Rohit

For his upcoming film Ekka, starring Yuva Rajkumar and Sanjana Anand, director Rohit Padaki made a clear choice: to ground the movie in the raw reality of Bengaluru's busiest streets rather than the controlled environment of sets. 'Sets can never compete with what real locations can provide. There's an air of reality in every frame that you simply can't get from a set,' says the director. To achieve this level of authenticity, the film's team adopted a focused strategy. 'We shot in some of Bengaluru's busiest areas, like Shivaji Nagar, where we hid our cameras and filmed the scene; we wanted to make it look as real as possible. This method involved rehearsing scenes like theatre artistes, then moving to the actual locations for hidden-camera shoots. Nearly 30-40% of the film has been shot in this manner,' he reveals. Excerpts from a chat: 'KANNADA CINEMA IS DRIVEN BY A METROPOLITAN CULTURE' 'A metropolitan culture of filmmaking is taking over,' laments Rohit. He emphasises that for movies to truly succeed, the focus needs to shift back to strong writing, particularly one that embraces the 'native element which connects us to our roots.' The director points to other regional industries as examples. 'Take a look at Tamil or Malayalam movies; even though some of them are larger than life, they are still rooted in their culture. This connection is largely missing in Kannada cinema today because of the metropolitan culture of filmmaking, in most cases.' Earlier, the Kannada Film Industry used to make and release movies in short periods; it doesn't happen as often now Rohit Padaki 'WE TOOK ON A CHALLENGE TO FINISH THE MOVIE IN NINE MONTHS' Rohit adds that he found a unique advantage in a largely fresh team and an ambitious production timeline. 'Around 80 per cent of the crew and cast were new. It was a good experience working with them because everyone was very hungry for success. We took on a challenge to finish the movie, from start to finish, in nine months. I didn't want to waste too much time working on one movie,' he explains.
