Rain alert issued to AP and Telangana for three days
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to the expansion of the southwest monsoon, surface circulation in the Bay of Bengal, and the influence of a trough. Predictions indicate moderate to heavy rainfall across these regions over the coming days.
According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, moderate rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected in several districts of Telangana on Friday and Saturday. Additionally, strong gusty winds, reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour, are forecasted for all districts in Telangana during this period.
Today, isolated locations across the following districts may experience moderate rain, thunder, and lightning: Adilabad, Komarambhim, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.
Temperatures are projected to vary, with Nalgonda reaching a maximum of 36.5 degrees Celsius and Mahabubnagar experiencing a minimum of 31 degrees Celsius on Friday.
In Andhra Pradesh, ongoing rains are attributed to the influences of the southwest monsoon, surface circulation, and troughs. The AP Disaster Management Organization has noted that light rain could occur in districts including Alluri Seetharamaraju, Anakapalle, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, and Palnadu.
Residents of both states are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this period of adverse weather.

'As the water level of Khadakwasla Dam is rising due to heavy rainfall in the catchment area, water is being released. Daytime temperatures are expected to be around 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may drop to 22 degrees Celsius. On June 22, the weather will remain generally cloudy with light rain, and temperatures may rise slightly to 30 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions with light rain are likely to continue on June 23 and 24, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures hovering around 29–30 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, rain is expected to increase from June 25, and continue on June 26. Despite the rainy conditions, the IMD has not issued any weather warnings for the coming days. New Delhi: The weather has turned pleasant across Delhi-NCR as drop in both minimum and maximum temperature has brought relief to the people from the scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next five days, forecasting rain and strong winds across the region. On June 20, the maximum temperature is not likely to exceed 36 degrees Celsius, and the minimum is 27 degrees Celsius. On June 21, the temperature is expected to hover around 37 degrees C (max) and 28 degrees C (min), with humidity between 80 per cent and 82 per cent. According to the IMD, light to moderate rain, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, is expected during the evenings and nights of June 20 and 21. Between June 22 and 25, the region is likely to witness cloudy skies, moderate to heavy rain, and thunderstorms, with wind speeds reaching 30-40 km/h. During this period, the maximum temperature may drop further to 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum to 26-27 degrees C. The weather department said humidity could climb up to 90 per cent, keeping the atmosphere sticky. However, the continuous showers have led to waterlogging in several low-lying areas of Gurugram, Noida, and East Delhi, disrupting movement. Roads remain submerged at some places, prompting the local administrations to deploy teams for drainage work. June 26 is expected to bring clear skies, with no weather warnings issued. The IMD has forecast partly cloudy conditions, offering respite from the persistent rain. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors unless necessary, especially during thunderstorms, and to avoid waterlogged routes. The traffic police have also issued advisories to ensure safer commuting during this wet spell. Delhi's air quality has also shown marked improvement, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) slipping into the 'satisfactory' category on Thursday after remaining 'poor' for several days. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI was recorded at 76 at 8 a.m. on June 20, compared to 99 a day earlier.

Rain likely in almost all districts of Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal, Jun 20 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has now covered all districts of Madhya Pradesh, bringing cloudy skies and rain to the entire state, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. The monsoon entered the state a few days earlier than usual, specifically in the Burhanpur and adjoining districts, and has now spread across the state, the IMD bulletin read. Rainfall was recorded at various places in Bhopal, Rewa, Jabalpur, and Sagar divisions, with some areas in Narmadapuram and Ujjain divisions receiving more widespread showers during the past 24 hours. The Chambal, Gwalior, and Shahdol divisions also experienced significant rainfall, while other divisions remained relatively dry. The onset of the monsoon has led to a drop in day and night temperatures by 3-5 degrees Celsius. Rainfall was recorded in several areas, including Kathiwada, Alirajpur, Ater, Pansemal, Tirla, Umrwan, Jobat, Gwalior, Morena, Pithampur, and others. IMD has forecast cloudy skies with rain at many places in several districts, including Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar, Datia, and others, over the next 24 hours.
