Royal Commission for Riyadh City Launches Slava's Snowshow in Riyadh
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has launched the international theatrical production Slava's Snowshow, part of a cultural lineup running through May 24.
The show's 13-performance run includes double features on weekends to accommodate rising demand from families and theatergoers. The event supports RCRC's commitment to hosting world-class cultural programming. It is organized under the Quality of Life Program—one of the Vision Realization Programs of Saudi Vision 2030, SPA reported.
'We are delighted to host Slava's Snowshow in Riyadh as part of our ongoing efforts to bring world-class cultural experiences to the Kingdom,' said Executive Vice President of Riyadh Life Sector at Khalid Alhazani. 'These distinctive shows represent what we strive for at RCRC: creating impactful cultural moments that are truly memorable."
The non-verbal show features a mix of imaginary snowstorms, whimsical characters, and dramatic visual effects, offering a poetic experience that transcends language and age.
Created by renowned Russian artist Slava Polunin, Slava's Snowshow has drawn more than 12 million viewers in over 30 countries. It has earned more than 25 international awards.

In response, Crawford, a four-division and two-weight undisputed champion, said: "I'm hunting him. That's it. I'm hunting everything that he has got, and I am going to take it come September 13th. I am very confident. This is my time." The global media tour will conclude on Friday, June 27 in Las Vegas, before the two fighters return to the same city for the main event in September.

What We Are Reading Today: The Cultural House in Riyadh
I recently visited the newly opened Culture House public library, an initiative by the Libraries Commission and Riyadh municipality. The library is part of the King Salman Science Oasis project in Al-Ta'awun neighborhood, and it exceeded my expectations. Before visiting, I was aware that I needed to book a time for my preferred section. This is an important detail to note, as you must have a reservation to access any area of the library. Upon arrival, I easily scanned a QR code, filled in my name and phone number, and waited just 10 minutes for my tour. The staff at the library were exceptional; the representative who guided me was friendly and informative and made the experience more enjoyable. The library itself is designed with comfort in mind, offering various zones, including a tech space, a kids' area, flexible workspaces, and a cafe on the ground floor. The first floor features the main library with ample seating for both group and solo activities, as well as an outdoor space. It was great to see workstations equipped with computers, printers, and scanners that facilitate scanning colored books. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor area, which includes a playground and relaxing spots near the water, as well as food trucks. It's a great place for families and friends to gather. While I was unable to explore the middle or main section fully, I am eager to return. A couple of guidelines to consider: The library's washroom closes at midnight and while cycling on the grounds is not permitted, skateboards are allowed. Additionally, sitting on the grass is not allowed, though sitting on the floor is. I highly recommend a visit to the library. The clean, quiet environment, combined with friendly staff and great amenities, makes it a standout space in Riyadh. For a city of its size, I hope to see more libraries like this across the Kingdom's capital and beyond.

Saudi art returns to Concentrico festival in Spain
DHAHRAN: The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, known as Ithra, returns with more Saudi-inspired art for the second year at the Concentrico International Festival of Architecture and Design in Spain. The installation will be open to the public at Plaza de la Diversidad in Logrono until June 24. This year, Ithra presents 'Rooted in Warmth' by Saudi multimedia artist Raghad Al-Ahmed, alongside a sensory experience, 'Summer Blessings,' by Saudi visual narrative studio Nclass. Visitors are encouraged to interact with and even climb the structure to experience the connection between agriculture and community ties to nature. The installation was created with more than 50 women artisans from Jouf, northern Saudi Arabia, inspired by Al-Ahmed's roots in the Hejazi community, particularly Taif, where gatherings under tree shade are part of rural life. The sensory experience 'Summer Blessings' complements 'Rooted in Warmth' by showcasing the diversity of local fruits and herbs. Noura Al-Zamil, head of programs at Ithra, said: 'We are proud to present Raghad Al-Ahmed's work at Concentrico. Showcasing it at a leading European design festival reflects Ithra's ongoing efforts to support creative expression. 'This initiative provides a platform for Saudi artists and artisans to share their work globally, enriching the cultural landscape. 'Rooted in Warmth,' combining personal and national identity with contemporary art, will encourage cross-cultural dialogue at the festival,' she added. After its debut in Spain, 'Rooted in Warmth' will be exhibited in Saudi Arabia as part of Tanween 2025 later this year. Tanween, Ithra's annual design event, highlights global design excellence and promotes creative innovation.
