The U.S. plans to double tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to 50% on Wednesday, coinciding with the deadline set by the Trump administration for countries to improve their trade offers. The European Commission announced it will present strong arguments this week for the U.S. to reduce or eliminate these tariffs, despite Washington's intention to increase them.
