"On request of the Governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka, the Indian Embassy's evacuation efforts in Iran will also cover Citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka," the Indian Embassy in Iran posted on X.
The Indian government has launched Operation Sindhu to evacuate Indian nationals from Iran, given the deteriorating situation as a result of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Saturday that, so far, 517 Indian nationals have returned to India from Iran under Operation Sindhu.
Jaiswal stated that a special flight from Turkmenistan's Ashgabat carrying Indians from Iran arrived in New Delhi on June 21.
In a post on X, Jaiswal stated, "Operation Sindhu continues. A special evacuation flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, landed in New Delhi at 0300 hrs on 21st June, bringing Indians from Iran home. With this, so far 517 Indian nationals from Iran have returned home under Operation Sindhu."
The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its ninth day on Saturday. The conflict started after Israel, on June 13, launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, dubbed "Operation Rising Lion".
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale drone and missile operation, 'Operation True Promise 3', targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centres.
It is pertinent to note here that it is not the first time that the Indian government has launched an operation to evacuate citizens from another country. Earlier in 2023, India launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate its citizens during violent military clashes in Sudan.
India had launched Operation Ajay to evacuate Indian nationals from Israel during the Israel-Hamas conflict in 2023. Operation Ganga was launched by the Indian government in 2022 to evacuate Indian nationals when war erupted between Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier in 2021, the Indian government launched Operation Devi Shakti to evacuate Indian citizens from Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. India launched Operation Samudra Setu to evacuate Indians through the sea during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
India launched Operation Raahat to evacuate citizens after civil conflict erupted in Yemen in 2015. Earlier in 2011, India launched Operation Safe Homecoming to evacuate Indian nationals during the civil war in the Arab Spring in Libya.

Iran Israel war: Who are favouring Israel... which countries are supporting Iran... Know details here
Iran Israel war: Who are s favouring Israel... which countries are supporting Iran... Know details here Iran-Israel War: A fierce war has been going on between Iran and Israel for the last several days, hundreds of people have lost their lives in this war, many military bases have been completely destroyed. Apart from this, displacement has also been seen on a large scale. Meanwhile, the question is which countries are supporting Iran, and which countries are standing with Israel at this time? Which countries are with Iran? Iran's biggest dilemma at this time is that many countries are supporting it, but it is not necessary that they will come forward to help it when needed. The biggest example of this is many Muslim countries that are strongly opposing Israel's attack, but it seems difficult to say whether they will jump into the battlefield if needed. Among the Muslim countries, countries like Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq are seen standing with Iran. A big name in this is Pakistan , which is a nuclear-rich country. Pakistan is currently trying its best to get 21 Muslim countries to stand with Iran by showing solidarity. The big thing is that at this time countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Turkey, Somalia, Libya and Algeria have condemned the Israeli attack. Who are supporting Israel Among these nations are prominent players such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Norway, Austria, Germany, India, Canada, Poland, Spain, and even the European Union as a collective entity. The majority of these countries have affirmed their backing of Israel's legitimate right to self-defense, particularly in the face of challenges presented by groups like Hamas.

Indian Workers In Israel Being Forced To Return? What Government Said
New Delhi: The government, putting an end to rumours, said that no Indian workers in Israel would be forced to return to their home country. "A message circulating on social media claiming Indian workers in Israel would be forced to return to India or face jail/fine if they register with the Embassy of India is fake," the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv said today. It asked citizens not to "believe or forward such misinformation". "Always rely on official updates from @Indemtel (Embassy of India, Tel Aviv) for accurate info," a post on X said. The embassy said that the "registration of Indian nationals in Israel is to enable the Embassy to reach out to them not only in times of crisis but also to help them avail of the various facilities and welfare schemes of the Government of India". This comes amid a heightened tension between Israel and Iran, who have been launching fresh attacks on each other, killing scores of people on both sides. The latest crisis between the longtime foes started more than a week ago when Israel, under its 'Operation Rising Lion', conducted multiple strikes on the territory of Iran, with Tehran also returning fire after warning Israel. Last week, the embassy asked all Indians in Israel to stay vigilant and avoid any unnecessary movement while adhering to the safety protocols issued by the Israeli authorities. Indians have been employed in Israel for decades, thousands as caregivers looking after elderly Israelis, while others work as diamond traders and IT professionals. But since the war in Gaza escalated in 2023, recruiters have launched a drive to bring Indians in for Israel's construction sector also. The drive was a part of the Israeli government's effort to fill a void left by tens of thousands of Palestinian construction workers barred from entering Israel since Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack. Meanwhile, Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has said that his country is in "constant contact" with the Ministry of External Affairs on the subject of the evacuation of Indian nationals from there amid the escalation of conflict with Iran. On Wednesday, India announced the launch of 'Operation Sindhu' to evacuate its nationals from Iran.
