'College GameDay' announces location for Lee Corso's final show
ESPN's "College GameDay" has announced that Lee Corso's final appearance will be in Columbus, Ohio, where they will cover the Texas Longhorns at Ohio State Buckeyes game in Week 1.
Corso will do one final show before ending a magnificent 37-year tenure at GameDay. It's still to be determined if ESPN will bring in another analyst after 2026, but Lee Corso's unique presence, donning the mascot head every week, is irreplaceable.
Georgia made 40 appearances on College GameDay in the Lee Corso era, finishing with a 20-20 record. The Bulldogs hosted College GameDay 10 times.
In 2024, College GameDay chose to go to a Georgia game four times, three times in the regular season and once for the SEC championship. Corso chose Georgia's opponent the first two times (Alabama in Week 5, Texas in Week 8).
However, in Week 12, Corso picked Georgia to win at home vs. Tennessee, putting on the Uga mascot head. In Lee Corso's final game in Athens, Georgia, UGA thumped Tennessee, winning 31-17.
Athens has a good shot to host GameDay multiple times this year. Georgia has home games against Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss that could all draw college football's favorite pregame show.

Eagles Trio Snubbed From All-Quarter Century Team

Eagles Trio Snubbed From All-Quarter Century Team originally appeared on Athlon Sports. On Thursday, many former Philadelphia Eagles stars found their names on ESPN's All-Quarter Century Team. Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, Terrell Owens, Brian Dawkins, and Julio Jones were five players named to the impressive list. While the five names more than earned their spot, other stars for Philadelphia were left off the list. Advertisement And three players specifically were snubbed. Jason Peters Peters is the most obvious name on this list. While Trent Williams and Joe Thomas are Hall-of-Fame players, Peters was easily the more consistent player. A trade acquisition in 2009, the Arkansas tackle reached All-Pro status six times while being named a Pro Bowler nine times. He was far more consistent than Williams and on a better team than Thomas. He should have been one of the two left tackles named. Trent Cole It's hard to judge "The Hunter" on the same level as Jared Allen, Julius Peppers, Myles Garrett, or DeMarcus Ware. The issue is that the late-round steal was far more consistently productive for one team than multiple others on the list. Advertisement Cole recorded 85.5 sacks through his run with the Eagles. It's good for second all-time on the franchise's list. And why she should have included his name. Saquon Barkley Barkley's inclusion on the Quarter Century team may seem premature. The former second-round pick has struggled to stay healthy for most of his career. Things changed last season, though. Barkley's NFL record for rushing yards in a single season, including playoffs, highlighted one of the most impressive seasons for a running back in history. While Barkley's numbers don't jump out, they are more impressive than those of Christian McCaffrey and Priest Holmes, at least. This is a big reason why Barkley was snubbed by this process. Georgia Gets Strong Message From Five-Star RB

Georgia Gets Strong Message From Five-Star RB originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Georgia Bulldogs emerged confident after five-star running back Derrek Cooper visited campus last weekend. On3's Chad Simmons reported on June 13 that the Bulldogs could very well be the favorite in the top running back's recruitment. Advertisement While Cooper stopped short of calling the Bulldogs the favorite, he didn't tell Rivals' Harrison Reno anything that would suggest Georgia isn't his No. 1 choice at the moment. While talking to Reno, the running back raved about the relationships he's made with the Bulldogs program. "Our bond is very good," Cooper told Reno. "You know, we talk every day, you know, just chatting it up, see how things are going. So our bond is pretty tight." Georgia Bulldogs football head coach Kirby Smart© Dale Zanine-Imagn Images Reno wrote that Cooper's mother, Tonya Brinson, is playing "a significant part" in his recruitment. That makes it all the more important that the Bulldogs feel like family to the running back. Advertisement "Development, the family that's being felt from the coaching staff," Cooper added. "You know, she just wants to be able to sleep at night knowing that I'm well taken care." Cooper is a consensus top five running back in the 2026 recruiting class. Based on the 247Sports Composite rankings, Cooper is also the No. 2 Florida prospect and No. 20 overall recruit for 2026. Simmons reported the Miami Hurricanes are Georgia's biggest competition for Cooper. Although the Bulldogs appear confident they will eventually land the running back, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and 247Sports Crystal Ball both have Cooper committing to Miami. Advertisement The Auburn Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions and Ohio State Buckeyes are also contenders for Cooper.
