Cops arrest key aide of serial killer ‘Dr Death'

arrested a key associate of notorious serial killer Devender Sharma, alias "Dr Death". The accused, Rajender alias Raju (59) — on the run for 21 years — was apprehended on June 14 from Kasimpur, Aligarh, where he was hiding and working as a security guard at a local pump house.
"Rajender was a close associate of Sharma. The duo was part of a gang involved in a series of heinous crimes, including kidnapping and murder of truck and taxi drivers across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. They used to dispose of the bodies in the crocodile-infested Hazara Canal in Kasganj, UP, while the stolen vehicles were sold in the grey market for Rs 20,000-25,000 each," said DCP (crime) Aditya Gautam.
While absconding in the Delhi case, Rajender was arrested in a separate murder case in Jaipur under a false name and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2007. He served 14 years in jail till 2021. TNN

'You (the government) assigned the driver, but I had to buy my own bulletproof car,' he said, accusing the Naidu government of shirking its responsibility."How can a government say it will only give security if it feels like it?" Jagan asked, questioning how a crowd-control failure could result in a fatality if protocols were indeed also alleged political vendetta behind the FIR. Punjab: VB arrests block samiti Patwari taking Rs 20,000 bribe
Chandigarh, June 23 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Nishan Singh, block Samiti Patwari, posted at Gurdsapur for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000, an official said on Monday. Disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the arrest has been made following a complaint lodged by a resident of village Babari Nangal, in Gurdaspur. The complainant approached the VB and stated that she is the current Panchayat member of Gram Panchayat Babri Nangal and her husband had been cultivating about 22 kanals and 11 marlas of shamlat land out of total 25 acres of land for the last 50 years, The land title (Girdawari) of this land is also registered in his name. She further stated that on the basis of a complaint, the BDPO office had asked her to submit a clarification in this regard. She requested the current Sarpanch of her village to resolve the issue, but the said Nishan Singh Samiti Patwari demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 to get the issue resolved through his department. In this regard a case has been registered against the accused at VB police station, Amritsar range.
