Israeli attack on Iran poses serious threat to region's stability: Cabinet
QNA
Doha
The Cabinet has reiterated the State of Qatar's strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli attack targeting the territory of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran. The cabinet describedit a flagrant violation of Iran's sovereignty and security, in addition to a clear breach of the rules and principles of international law.
The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Wednesday affirmed that the Israeli attack, which represents a dangerous escalation and a systematic policy of aggression, poses a serious threat to the stability of the region and hinders efforts to reach diplomatic solutions.
Warning of the catastrophic regional and international repercussions of the attack, the Cabinet called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibility, intervene urgently and decisively to stop it, reduce all forms of escalation, and reach diplomatic solutions that achieve lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
The Cabinet then took note of the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on persons with disabilities, with the preparation of a draft law to replace Law No. 2 of 2004 regarding people with special needs.
Among the objectives of the draft law are ensuring the full and effective participation of people with disabilities in society, enabling them to exercise all basic rights and freedoms on an equal basis with others, ensuring their integration into society and in all areas of life, and ensuring and respecting the rights of children with disabilities and developing their capabilities.
The Cabinet approved a draft law regulating the import, export and transit of rough diamonds and referred it to the Shura Council.
The Cabinet also decided to approve a draft statute of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's humanitarian funds, a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of transport and transit between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Russian Federation, and a draft letter of intent for cooperation in the field of peace, reconciliation and conflict resolution between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Cabinet wrapped up its meeting by reviewing a report on the results of the participation of the Qatari delegation, headed by HE Minister of Labor, in the first meeting to implement the agreement regulating the recruitment of Burundian workers in the State of Qatar.

Iran detains 22 people suspected of links to Israeli intelligence
TehrancTypeface:> Iran has detained 22 people on suspicion of links to Israeli intelligence services. The suspects were held in the province of Qom, the pro-government ISNA news agency reported, citing local intelligence police. The detainees are suspected of having been in contact with the espionage services of the 'Zionist regime,' according to the news agency. They are also accused of 'unsettling public opinion' and 'supporting the criminal regime' of Israel. Details of the specific charges or the identities of those arrested have not been released. Iranian authorities have initiated a wave of arrests in the midst of the war with Israel, with media reporting dozens of people having been taken into custody across the country in recent days. Strikes between Israel and Iran are continuing for a second week, with a round of diplomatic talks between European foreign ministers and their Iranian counterpart on Friday having failed to produce results towards an end to the attacks. Israel says it launched its attack on June 13 because Iran was on the cusp of producing a nuclear weapon - something Tehran has consistently denied, saying its nuclear programme is for civilian use only. Israeli attacks kill 26 in Gaza
At least 26 people, including more aid seekers, have been killed in the latest Israeli attacks on Gaza. The attacks come as desperate Palestinians under Israeli blockade continue to wait at food distribution points amid an ongoing hunger crisis. Among those killed during Israeli attacks on the besieged enclave on Saturday, 11 were aid recipients at distribution centres run by the United States-and-Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which the United Nations has condemned for its 'weaponisation' of aid. Meanwhile, Wafa news agency reported that at least three people were killed and several others wounded by an Israeli drone strike that targeted displaced Palestinians in al-Mawasi, southern Gaza. The report said that the attack targeted a tent sheltering displaced members of the Shurrab family. The tent was located in an area the Israeli military had previously designated as a 'safe zone'. In the last 48 hours, at least 202 people have been killed and 1,037 wounded by Israeli attacks across Gaza. (Agencies) page 5
