IND vs ENG: Fuming coach! Gautam Gambhir visibly angry as Yashasvi Jaiswal spills Jasprit Bumrah's wicket chance
NEW DELHI: Just when the momentum seemed to be shifting in India's favour, captain
Shubman Gill
once again turned to his senior pacer,
Jasprit Bumrah
, in search of a breakthrough. And Bumrah, as always, delivered — or almost did.
He induced a thick edge off the dangerous Harry Brook, only for the catch to be spilled by
Yashasvi Jaiswal
at gully. It was a moment that could have turned the game, and Bumrah's reaction said it all — hands over his eyes, soaking in the disappointment, he quietly walked back to his fielding position.

Gill, stationed at second slip, looked visibly frustrated. The camera soon cut to Team India head coach
Gautam Gambhir
, who wore a similar expression of disbelief and annoyance.
Pant, ever the spirited teammate, rushed all the way from behind the stumps to fine leg to console Bumrah, who had by then thrown his head back in visible exasperation.
This was the fourth catch dropped off Bumrah's bowling in the innings — three by Jaiswal and one by Ravindra Jadeja — equaling the joint-most dropped catches off a single Indian bowler in an innings, as per available database records. Jaiswal's three missed chances also tie him for the most by an Indian fielder in a Test innings.
Despite the missed opportunities, Bumrah's class remains unquestioned. Former India head coach
Ravi Shastri
had nothing but high praise for the speedster, calling him the best fast bowler India has ever produced.
"I thought Malcolm Marshall was the best I saw in reading a batter and setting him up but this guy is not far behind. Where I have seen Bumrah improve is getting swing with the new ball. When he is swinging the new ball it becomes hard for any batter in the world to counter him, what with the action and the late release," Shastri said during a chat with Sky Sports ahead of Day 3.
Assessing India's position in the match, Shastri added:
Sitanshu Kotak press conference: Big revelation on Shubman Gill
"I think India will be disappointed that they didn't add another 75 or 80 runs but towards the end of day two, getting Root out, has evened things."
"I think they still have the upper hand. They have the runs on the board and you know what Bumrah can do. He can crack this game open in the first hour or so. If he can get a couple of wickets, India will think they can get a lead," he concluded.

Tushar Raheja to Shivam Singh: Star TNNPL batters KKR should target for IPL 2026
In this collection of pictures, we will explore the list of star TNPL batters KKR could consider signing for IPL 2026. 2024 IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders had a difficult 2025 season following the loss of a key opener Phil Salt to RCB. Their weaknesses were best demonstrated in powerplay, where their openers averaged a miserable 26.5 per man individually and a meager 22.3 together the third-lowest opening partnership average of the league. KKR's skipper, Ajinkya Rahane was the only batter who amassed runs with intent and turned out to be the highest run-scorer for his side. He scored a total of 390 runs at an average of 3.45 with a strike rate of 147.73. His highest score was 61. There is no doubt that KKR are going to seek reinforcement at the top-order, exploring the Indian talent pool, and in this case, there is where these three super hitters in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) can come handy. In case you have been able to see a glimpse of the TNPL, then you must have heard of Tushar Raheja. The classy left-handed opener will be the perfect addition in the line-up of KKR style which is to attack in the powerplay. He is the top run-scorer in TNPL 2025 so far, with 298 races at a mind boggling average of 99.33 and a strike rate of 204.10. His six-hitting skills are never in doubt, though, and with 21 sixes and 29 fours in the contest, he has more boundaries as a hitter than any other TNPL 2025 batter. No batter has scored more runs in TNPL since 2023 than Shivam Singh. The ex-PBKS all rounder has been in a rampage in the tournament having scored 931 runs with an amazing average of 51.72. Imagine Ajinkya Rahane took a bold decision by playing as an opener for KKR, the team will require someone solid at No.3 and that is where Nidhish Rajagopal comes handy. The left hander deals well with pace and spin, which is highly necessary in a KKR team with a fire balling middle order. He has an adequate record against spinners, scoring 263 runs with 16 sixes since the 2023 TNPL, which is a good sign of dealing with spinners. The Salem-born hitter is only 25 so he brings youth to an already ageing KKR top order, providing the ideal calm yet effective balance in the batting arsenal.
