Royal Ascot day four: Tips, results and racecard for today's racing

The penultimate day of Royal Ascot is upon us and if you have not found a winner yet now is a good a time as any.
Today's card is all about two cracking Group 1s. The Coronation Stakes (4.20), run over a mile, features a hot favourite in Falakeyah who could yet prove to be the best three-year-old filly in training. The Commonwealth Cup (3.05) offers a prize fund of over £725,000, with the best three-year-old sprinters locking horns over six furlongs.

Royal Ascot day four tips
2.30pm: Albany Stakes (Group Three)
Charlie Brooks – This isn't the moment to oppose the two-year-olds that O'Brien has chosen to bring over. Signora is the pick. (Nap)
Marcus Armytage – Signora was third to a very smart filly on debut and bound to come on for that
Marlborough – Signora has a similar profile to her stable's other juvenile winners this week and looks a surefire improver here
3.05pm: Commonwealth Cup (Group One)
Charlie Brooks – Babouche. It's a choice between the 1000 Guineas form from Newmarket and the Curragh and Colin Keane is presumably on the right Juddmonte horse
Marcus Armytage – Fast American filly, Shisospicy, has won over five and a half. Slight question mark over six but possibly quickest in field
Marlborough – Rayevka travelled so strongly in her latest victory in France and she is good enough to threaten the market principles at good odds
3.40pm: Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap)
Charlie Brooks – French Duke will have been trained all year for this and James Doyle has picked this rather than Wathnan Racing's other runner
Marcus Armytage – Hand of God won last year's Golden Gates. Forget his comeback run, today's the day
Marlborough – Signs are that Almosh'her is better than a handicapper and has been bought by Wathnan Racing recently. His wide draw is a plus over this distance
4.20pm: Coronation Stakes (Group One)
Charlie Brooks – January was never going to be O'Brien's first string for the Irish 1000 Guineas. Could have come on a lot for that run and Ryan Moore's choice
Marcus Armytage – Chantilly Lace was two and half lengths off Desert Flower in Guineas on seasonal debut
Marlborough – Dropping Falakeyah to a mile could be a shrewd move and she looks a Group 1 winner in waiting
5pm: Sandringham Stakes (Handicap)
Charlie Brooks – Saariselka. Ed Walker's horses are running really consistently and this filly looks rock solid
Marcus Armytage – Oolong Poobong took apart Haydock handicap last time and is on the improve
Marlborough – Dash Of Azure showed promise last year in some good races and won cosily on return. She is well handicapped for Ralph Beckett.
5.35pm: King Edward VII Stakes (Group Two)
Charlie Brooks – Step up to mile and a half should suit Amiloc and trainer has held back from some bigger fights to wait for this
Marcus Armytage – Amiloc is unbeaten and was a wide-margin winner of last two starts. If not a gelding might have gone for Derby
Marlborough – Puppet Master was one of his stable's Derby trial winners and they look to have a good hand in this division
6.10pm: Palace of Holyroodhouse (Handicap)
Charlie Brooks – Realign is very lightly raced and has bags of improvement left to come
Marcus Armytage – Stormy Impact won the Epsom Dash and comes here in good form
Marlborough – Realign has always been well regarded and looks well handicapped off 93 with the drop to this stiff five furlongs looking like a good next step

As Galal Yafai continues his charge towards a world title, a new wave of unbeaten prospects is ready to make a statement on Saturday's undercard in Birmingham. While most of the spotlight will fall on Yafai's headlining bout against Francisco Rodriguez Jr – his first defence of the WBC interim flyweight title – the undercard is packed with rising talent eager to follow in his footsteps. Since debuting with a third-round stoppage of Santiago San Eusebio, the 21-year-old British-Bangladeshi has consistently stepped up – fighting opponents with winning records and moving quickly to eight-round bouts. Trained by his father Raj and managed by Sam Jones, Uddin takes on Leandro Jose Blanc (8-2) on Saturday. With Matchroom behind him and home support in the Midlands, he's tipped for a rapid rise. Aaron Bowen – 5-0 (3 KOs) Middleweight Bowen returns to familiar ground on Saturday, fighting in Birmingham where he won Commonwealth bronze in 2022. The Coventry fighter has made a strong start to his pro career, racking up five wins and three knockouts, including stoppages against Wilmer Baron (6-1) and James Todd (4-5-2). Now 26, Bowen has been with Matchroom since turning pro and is steadily building a fanbase in the Midlands. He faces experienced Ukrainian Mykola Vovk (15-7) in his latest step up. Giorgio Visioli – 7-0 (6 KOs) One of the most talked-about prospects on the card, Visioli enters with six knockouts in seven fights and serious momentum. Promoter Hearn has described the super featherweight as 'world class' and predicted he'll be in the British title picture by the end of the year. Listed on The Independent and DAZN's 'Prospects of the Year', the 23-year-old from Aldershot seems unfazed by the growing attention. 'I go into each fight treating it like a world title,' he told BBC Sport. 'All it takes is one punch to derail you.' Visioli takes on Argentina's Elias Federico Duguet (7-1-1) over eight rounds. Ibraheem Sulaimaan – 7-0 (4 KOs) Nicknamed 'The Spider', Birmingham's Sulaimaan continues his steady rise at super-featherweight. The 24-year-old earned his spot on the Matchroom roster after impressing on earlier undercards and has since notched up four stoppages in seven wins.

Cercene upstages Zarigana in Coronation Stakes

Billed as a clash between French 1,000 Guineas winner Zarigana and Owen Burrows' supplemented Falakeyah, it was the Irish outsider who stole the show to become the race's longest-priced winner at 33-1. Falakeyah's challenge faded tamely having raced keenly, but 6-4 favourite Zarigana looked prime to pounce in hands of Mickael Barzalona and in fact looked to briefly have passed Cercene. However, Irish 1,000 third Cercene was not to be denied and proved her Curragh performance was no fluke as she battled back to secure a half-length verdict. Murphy said: 'We always liked her. We left her a little longer but good fillies you always leave a little longer, you never put them over. 33/1! 'She travelled well, Gary gave her a great ride, and we were thinking that being by Australia she'd stay as well. She was headed and came back again. She waited for something to head her, but she's very tough and a dream to train. The plan was today so now we'll draw new plans.' Carroll said: 'It's unbelievable. I've been riding a long time now and been placed in plenty of Group Ones. This is my first one and if I was ever to ride a Group One winner it was for Joe Murphy. 'I've been riding for him since I was a 7lb claimer and he's been very, very good to me so I'm delighted I can repay him. 'She ran a blinder at the Curragh where the slow pace didn't suit. We went a bit better gallop there today, got to the front a furlong and a half out and she waited, the French horse came and headed me; to be fair to this one she's not big but she's very tough and she stuck her head out for me. 'It's hugely satisfying to win a Group One. They're so hard to come by. Good horses are very hard to come by. To do this, Royal Ascot, magic. 'After the Guineas run, a better run race there she'd have finished closer again, I think she's taken a step forward from there and she's ultra-tough, she doesn't know when to give up.'

Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 William Haggas will have More Thunder tuned to perfection for the Wokingham Credit: PA That will give MORE THUNDER (5.00) supporters plenty of hope as he goes for a hat-trick in Saturday afternoon's cavalry charge. More Thunder has been a revelation this season for William Haggas, landing two sprint handicaps with last-gasp thrusts. Last term he was in the hands of Sir Michael Stoute when he raced as far as an extended mile and a quarter. Cape Byron, Bacchus and Baccarat are just three fairly recent Wokingham victors who had tried distances way beyond the distance they were going at Royal Ascot. Cape Byron ran a couple of times over a mile and a furlong, and was once down the field in a Hunt Cup. Bacchus went a mile in a nursery at Newmarket in his younger days, while Baccarat once went a mile at Ayr. More Thunder is untried on very fast ground, but he will be flying home off the strong gallop and may well get up under Tom Marquand and do what My Cloud did in the Wokingham. So we have made it. It's the final day of Royal Ascot 2025 and all seven sweltering races are once again on ITV. The action kicks off with the Listed Chesham Stakes for juvenile colts and geldings over 7f. Many with much potential and improvement. TREANMOR cost 2,000,000 euros as a son of Frankel and looked very useful on debut at Newmarket when traveling strongly and hacking up by four lengths. The runner-up has been beaten since, but Treanmor was backed as if defeat was impossible. He obviously should go well and William Buick rides for Charlie Appleby. The Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes is for older horses over 1m4f. Kalpana wasn't declared due to the fast ground so this really should be at the mercy of REBEL'S ROMANCE (3.05) who loves a hard surface, and banged in the Breeders' Cup Turf on firm at Del Mar in November. The latter is a globetrotting superstar for Godolphin and can land this again for Buick and Appleby. He's just bombproof in these events and was a fine third here to Goliath in the King George. Today's big Group 1 is the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over 6f. Another wide open sprint this week. TOPGEAR (3.40) has never encountered ground like this and of course he might hate it. There is also a chance Topgear is better at 7f than 6f. That all said, on ability the French, Christopher Head-trained raider is right in the mix and his Challenge Stakes victory at Newmarket was a very decent one. My selection returned with success at Longchamp this season and if able to go the gallop will finish stronger than most. An each-way chance. Next a Group 3 for three-year-olds in the Jersey Stakes over 7f. Really tricky to sort this lot out! CALIFORNIA DREAMER (4.20) might go well for Amo Racing and David Egan. The Adrian Murray-trained Irish raider was an excellent second to Lake Victoria in the Irish 1000 Guineas when last seen and a drop back to 7f should be beneficial. She was a fine fifth here in the Albany on fast ground last season so she really should get in the mix and has strong each-way claims. Another handicap in the Golden Gates for three-year-olds over 1m2f comes next. And there could be another one for Wathnan here with French raider BEST SECRET (5.35). He's another that it's impossible to know whether he will act on a fast surface, but he's lightly raced and has been impressive in two victories at Saint-Cloud and Longchamp. James Doyle is on top and a handicap mark of 95 looks very fare. Stall 5 should not be the difference between winning losing. Royal Ascot 2025 draws to a close with the Queen Alexandra Stakes marathon over an extended 2m5f. Sober could easily hack up for Willie Mullins but SAMUI (6.10) was a fine third in the Copper Horse on Tuesday and he will be well suited by the extra distance. He can just lob around under Colin Keane and hopefully power clear in the closing stages. What a week it's been. I hope you have enjoyed all the sport. Royal Ascot is just always special.
