More Iowa women's basketball schedule details emerge
Anticipation for the Iowa women's basketball season that's ahead continues to build. The Hawkeyes' freshman class—guards Addie Deal and Journey Houston and post Layla Hays—moved in over the weekend.
News also broke on the Iowa women's basketball 2025-26 schedule. Several more dates on that Hawkeye schedule were revealed.
According to Kyle Huesmann of Hawkeye Report, Iowa will host Western Illinois on Nov. 25, Fairfield on Nov. 30 and Lindenwood on Dec. 13.
Iowa leads the all-time series against Western Illinois, 9-2. The most recent meeting came on Dec. 22, 2020, in a 92-65 Hawkeye win. Former Iowa big Monika Czinano scored 19 points in that victory. Western Illinois finished last season with a 17-17 record.
Iowa's date against Fairfield will be the two schools' first meeting. Fairfield advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament and finished with a 28-5 record. The Stags earned a No. 12 seed before falling to fifth-seeded Kansas State.
Fairfield also advanced to the 2024 NCAA Tournament and had a 31-2 record during that campaign.
Iowa will also meet Lindenwood for the first time in program history. Lindenwood advanced to the WNIT's third round and finished with a 23-11 mark.
Hawkeye Report's public records request also revealed that Iowa will travel to Northern Iowa on Nov. 16 and that the Hawkeyes will face Baylor and Miami in the 2025 WBCA Showcase.
The Hawkeyes' 2025-26 Big Ten opponents were also previously unveiled. Iowa will host Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Washington and Oregon. Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes will travel to Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin, UCLA and USC.
Iowa's lone conference foe that it will play both home and away is Nebraska.
Iowa will also travel to Iowa State on Dec. 10 and will play defending national champion Connecticut in the Women's Champions Classic on Dec. 20.

Ohio State men's hockey releases 2025-2026 nonconference schedule
The Ohio State men's hockey team surprised a lot of people with their unexpectedly high level of play this past season. The Buckeyes lost a lot of key players but found a way to plug in more talent and shock a lot of people by making it to the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game en route to a berth in the NCAA Tournament. WATCH: Ohio State incoming transfer Christoph Tilly is already balling in Columbus
The Ohio State basketball program went through an extreme makeover after the disappointing season last year. The Buckeyes kept the likes of Bruce Thornton, Devin Royal, and John Mobley Jr., but they lost others who were thought to be key pieces of the future when OSU got them prior. So, head coach Jake Diebler and the staff had to retool a bit and try to bring in the talent and pieces they thought could build momentum to get back to the NCAA Tournament this year and lay a foundation for getting the team back among one of the best in the Big Ten and country. One of those keys was to bring in a big man, but not just any big man. Today's game almost necessitates a guy who can go both inside and out for spacing on the floor and forced matchups from the other sideline. To do that, Ohio State went out and convinced former Santa Clara big man, Christop Tilly to come to Columbus out of the transfer portal. We've already heard from Dielber on what he brings to the table, but now we have some highlights of him balling out in some of the controlled scrimmages the OSU basketball team has been going through. By the looks of the video shared on the Ohio State Hoops "X" account, it sure feels like Tilly should provide Ohio State with some scoring, athleticism, and needed stretching of opposing Big Ten defenses next year. There's a lot of optimism in Columbus because of Tilly and the other pieces that have been brought in, but it all means absolutely nothing until the team shows what it can do on the floor when things tip off this winter.
