Revealed: Royal Ascot drink prices increase yet AGAIN - as one drink is on sale for £560
Racegoers at Royal Ascot face having to shell out up to £560 for a bottle of champagne and almost £8 for a pint of beer as they head to the Berkshire track this week.
The five-day racing festival began on Tuesday and will continue until Saturday with thousands of punters dressed in summer dresses, stunning hats and smart suits cheering on riders at the racecourse.
While around 270,000 punters are set to enjoy the summer sunshine, with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees, they will be forced to cough up a pretty penny to get their hands on a drink.
The most expensive price for a bottle of bubbly is £560 for a 1.5 litre Cuvee Dom Perignon Blanc.
Other sky-high prices include a £250 Moet and Chandon Rose Imperial.
And a 750ml bottle of Whispering Angel Cotes de Provence rose is on sale for £75, although it priced at just £22.50 at Tesco 's online store.
A normal bottle of red or white wine costs £30, with premium options priced at £45.
Meanwhile, beer drinkers will need to cough up almost £8 for a pint.
A pint of Peroni or Guinness will set punters back £7.80, while Grolsch is on sale for a comparatively cut-priced £7.
This represents an increase on last year, where Guinness was on sale for £7.50 and Grolsch at £6.50
This year, even a 330ml bottle of Asahi costs £7.20, with a non-alcoholic Peroni, also 330ml, priced at £5.50.
A bottle of Cornish Orchards comes in at £7.80, with a Meantime pale ale only 30p cheaper.
The cheapest bottle of champagne, Moet and Chandon Brut Imperial. is priced at £210, for a 1.5 litre bottle.
Cocktails are on offer for £14, while non-alcoholic versions are £11 or £9.

Those peckish can enjoy a reasonably priced food offering. Bacon cheeseburgers are on sale for £12.50, with cheeseburgers £11.50.
Vegetarian mushroom burgers are priced at £11.50 as well, with a hot dogs £9.50.
On Tuesday, the 8-11 favourite Field Of Gold, under Colin Keane for trainers John and Thady Gosden, routed rivals to claim a spectacular St James's Palace Stakes win.
Field of Gold's stunning victory came eleven years after his father's win on the same track.
Meanwhile King Charles III's horse Reaching High was well-beaten on the opening day, as Ascending won the Ascot Stakes by a head.
The horse, ridden by Ryan Moore, was the hot favourite before the runners set off at the historic Flat race meeting, at 11/4 to claim the £57,000 first-place prize ahead of going to post.
Trained by National Hunt superstar trainer Willie Mullins, Reaching High was bred by the late Queen Elizabeth II out of Estimate, who won the Ascot Gold Cup in 2013.

But whatever the truth of the matter, it was far from the last time that his romantic liaisons caused a headache. After being briefly linked with actress Suranne Jones in 2005, he found happiness with his Footballer's Wives: Extra Time co-star Sarah Matravers and the pair were said to be discussing starting a family together when he joined the 2007 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Imagine, then, Sarah's disbelief as he struck up a flirtation with campmate Cerys Matthews, from the Welsh band Catatonia, who had recently ditched her American music producer husband Seth Riddle after four years of marriage. Viewer watched the pair gaze into each other's eyes over the camp fire, having meaningful conversations. They also often cosied up together in the hammock, and fellow campmate John Burton Race even claimed that the pair were intimate under the stars and that producers decided to not air the footage. He explained that he had become depressed after the axe fell on the Di Marcos in EastEnders. He told the Mirror: 'I suffered depression and turned to the bottle to get me out of it.' He added: 'The whole thing was such a shock. It upset me so much that it's only now I feel able to talk about what it did to me. 'I remember feeling very bitter, especially at the way they got rid of us. There was no warning - we were just out. 'I have learnt to cope, but it hasn't been easy. I've not kept in touch with the other Di Marco actors because our departure was so traumatic. When I first found myself out of the show I didn't realise at the time but I started eating all the wrong things and I was boozing far too much.'

People left surprised after cruise ship worker shares payslip
A Royal Caribbean cruise ship worker has revealed how much he takes home as a casino host on board the brand's liners. Brit Chris Wong has worked at sea for the company since 2013, regularly posting content online about his life on the ocean waves. This week he announced his current contract will be his last, as he sails into new waters in 'the next phase of my life'. However, A recent YouTube post saw the entertainment employee sharing the sums of his most recent pay slip. With 114,000 followers on YouTube, he describes himself as probably the most followed casino host on land or sea - and explained that previous insights into his salary had been amongst his most popular content ever. Around 2 minutes 40 seconds into the 17-minute-long clip, Wong bravely goes where many employees might not - he shares his payslip on screen for all to see. The white and blue financial document clearly carries Royal Caribbean's branding, although Wong has covered up confidential details such as his employee number and address. The one piece of information most people want to see though hasn't been scratched out; how much he brings home for a month's work. Receiving two pay slips, one for salaried pay, the other for additions such as tips, Wong revealed he earned $4,340.30 (£3,222.93) in a month this year Wong explains in the clip, entitled 'How Much Money I Currently Earn Working On A Cruise Ship in 2025': 'The only thing I haven't scribbled out is the bottom, which is my net pay and this is exactly how much money I was paid for that two week period.' Showing two two-week pay slips, the first sum is $2,890.21 (£2,145.52), while the second, based solely on additional earnings such as tips and commission, is $1,450.09 (£1076.50). The grand total for his work in January this year comes to $4,340.30 (£3,222.93). He explains that he's on 'fantastic money', saying: 'For me to earn something like that in the UK, it's actually quite difficult at this point in time, with the way inflation is and everything'. He adds that earning that sum without having to pay for rent, with only minimal bills for his phone and internet use, and no large outgoings such as a house or a car, means he's very happy with his salary. Those tuning into the video admitted they were impressed by Wong's earnings and his job, saying: 'Congrats! So happy to see you doing well!!!! Don't listen to the naysayers, make as much $ as you can and save, save, save!' Another added: 'As long as you like/love what you do and feel your compensation is fair, stick with it as long as that remains true.' This week, Chris revealed that he was handing over the casino host baton to a colleague after deciding to leave Royal Caribbean. 'On a Royal Caribbean Blog discussion forum, he posted: 'I have officially announced and decided that this will be my last ever contract as a crew member for Royal Caribbean. After a long career with this company, it is now time to move on to the next phase of my life. I am excited and nervous for what is to come.' Last month, another cruise crew member lifted the lid on what it's like to work as a member of guest services - and who the happiest employees are on a ship. Posting on Reddit, the employee revealed that their biggest pet peeve is when holidaymakers 'demand' to speak to the manager'. 'Most of these people I would be happy not to have to deal with, however what they fail to realise is that I might get in trouble if I immediately call a supervisor without trying to resolve the issue by myself first,' they explained. 'If seeing the manager is warranted, I promise you won't have to say it.' And luckily it's really pretty easy to keep cruise crew happy, according to the staff member. They said: 'Be nice. That's literally it. We deal with all sorts of entitled complainers. 'Now some, if not most, complaints are perfectly valid but if you're not an a**hole about it, we'll do everything we can. And we will appreciate you being nice to us.' But if you are looking to hit the high seas as a crew member, there's one job that's the most desirable position onboard, according to the cruise worker. They revealed that entertainers are 'by far' the happiest members of staff onboard the ship. The crew member said: 'They have the most time off and are very well paid.'

NHS worker reveals the most bizarre thing she's ever seen in A&E
A hospital worker has revealed the 'craziest' case she ever witnessed while working in A&E. British-Sudanese comic Ola Labib, who previously worked as a pharmacist in the NHS for seven years, said the emergency room can be 'absolute chaos'. Speaking with Russell Kane on his podcast Evil Genius, Labib shared numerous 'bizarre' and 'crazy' stories from her time in the healthcare service. She said that the chaotic nature of A&E tends to ramp up around Christmas time - and this is when workers are most likely to see cases that are out of the ordinary. She also told an eye-watering anecdote about a man who had a terrible incident with a glass bottle - then lied to his parents about having cancer to cover his tracks. The pharmacist said the man had a glass beer bottle 'shatter' in his rectum when he inserted it for self-pleasure. 'The first one that comes to mind is the patient who stuck a beer bottle up his bum,' she answered when asked about the wildest things she's seen on the job. She then revealed the man hadn't come in because of the bottle itself but because it had smashed while still inside, much to the shock of the podcast host and fellow guests. 'He pleasured himself and he underestimated the power of his rectum so when he finished the beer bottle shattered,' Labib explained. 'It was really bad because when his parents came in, he didn't want them to know that that's what he did so we couldn't get involved but he told his parents that he had cancer.' Another 'crazy' case was when she saw a woman coming into A&E to get her hair extensions removed because she couldn't get an appointment at her hairdresser during the busy festive period. Labib said the woman lied about the extensions causing her pain and was shocked to see medical professionals have their time taken up by removing her weave. 'The craziest thing I saw was a woman who couldn't get an appointment to get her hair extensions taken out so she came into A&E pretending that her hair extensions were causing her real pain,' she recalled. She said the consultant suggested shaving the patient's head but staff were unable to do so for 'ethical reasons'. 'You literally had health care assistants and nurses taking out this woman's weave because she couldn't get an appointment,' Labib said. 'You see really, really crazy stuff in A& a good thing I'm not in charge, put it that way.' Medical workers are exposed to an endless source of shocking, hilarious, haunting, or bizarre stories in their line of work and many have chosen to share their experiences. Palliative care nurse Julie McFadden - who's known as Hospice Nurse Julie across social media - previously revealed the three most common regrets patients share on their death beds. Speaking to NHS surgeon Dr Karan Rajan on his podcast, she said these final discussions tend to centre around what they've taken for granted. Most common, she said, is regretting not appreciating the years they spent in good health. 'The first one I hear all the time is that they regret not appreciating their health while they had it,' McFadden, who has more than 15 years' experience of caring for the dying and is from Los Angeles. 'That's the number one thing people say to me, I wish I would have understood how amazing it is to have a working body,' she added. The second regret she often hears is people admitting they 'worked too much' and wish they hadn't worked their life away. Finally, she revealed in the clip shared to Instagram, that many dying patients have regrets about relationships. The nurse explained people either wish they had maintained certain relationships and friendships, or regret holding grudges. Many patients also reveal they 'cared too much' about what other people thought. Rajan responded to McFadden's insight with a story of a young patient that made him realise we are not 'immortal' and we should not take our life 'for granted'. In the clip shared with his 1.5million followers he said: 'A few years ago when I saw a young woman come in with pancreatitis in her 20s, within three hours this young woman is in the intensive care unit, she's intubated, ventilated, and the next day, she had passed away. 'That just made me think wow, I'm in my 30s now, I'm 34, life can just go in a flash. 'So yes, truly don't take it for granted, we sometimes have this tendency to walk around like we're immortal.'
