‘Alien: Earth' trailer: Noah Hawley's FX series drops biggest Predator crossover tease yet
FX has released the first trailer for Alien: Earth, the upcoming science fiction prequel series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley. The show is set in the year 2120 and brings the Alien franchise to Earth for the first time in a major storyline.
The trailer outlines a familiar premise with new elements. A research vessel from Weyland-Yutani crashes into Prodigy City, one of several corporate-controlled zones on Earth. On board the ship: five unidentified life forms. As one character in the trailer says, 'This ship collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe. Monsters… Invasive species. Predatory.'
That phrasing, along with some audible clicking sounds in the trailer, has prompted speculation among fans about a potential crossover with the Predator franchise. The two universes have intersected before, most notably in the Alien vs. Predator films, but Alien: Earth would be the first time the crossover is introduced within a television narrative.
The official synopsis describes a world dominated by five corporations — Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold — where humans coexist with synthetics and cyborgs. A major development occurs when the CEO of Prodigy unveils a new class of beings: hybrids, robots embedded with human consciousness. The story follows Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler), the first prototype hybrid, as she and others encounter the dangerous life forms brought to Earth by the crashed vessel.
The trailer includes brief glimpses of known creatures from the Alien series, including facehuggers and xenomorphs, but leaves the identities of the other species undisclosed. Also starring Alex Lawther and Timothy Olyphant, the show appears to combine corporate sci-fi themes with survival horror elements.
Alien: Earth will premiere on FX and stream on Disney+ starting August 12.

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch enjoy espressos under Italian skies before returning to WWE's relentless spotlight

The in-ring action was fierce, but it's what happened after the show that gave fans a rare look at their personal lives. Following a chaotic episode filled with conflicts, the dynamic duo posted matching Instagram stories from a café in Venice, Italy. This comes just before their upcoming title match next week, after General Manager Nick Aldis made it official. Elsewhere, Seth Rollins stormed the ring after Jey Uso's King of the Ring Qualifier victory. The Visionary lunged at Uso only to be halted by Cody Rhodes in a tense stare-down, leaving fans to buzz over the budding feud. Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding being turned into anime movie; lands Emmy-nominated screenwriter
Video game creator Hideo Kojima 's hit title Death Stranding is being turned into an animated movie, with Aaron Guzikowski signed on to write the screenplay. The Raised by Wolves creator will craft an original story set in the same universe as the 2019 post-apocalyptic adventure game. Kojima Productions and animation studio Line Mileage announced the project this week. The animated feature will target adult audiences, similar to recent animated adaptations like the Predator anthology series on Hulu and the upcoming John Wick prequel. "I love the world of Death Stranding. It's so creatively freeing, so beautifully dark and yet hopeful," Guzikowski said in a statement. The writer, known for creating HBO's sci-fi series Raised by Wolves and penning films like Prisoners, expressed excitement about creating new stories in Kojima's "fertile, mind-bending universe." Line Mileage brings solid credentials to the project. "Superman can be kind of boring": Jon Hamm on his preference for playing bad guy
Jon Hamm , who has played plenty of villains onscreen, including in 'Fargo,' 'Baby Driver' and others, recently shared how he makes "bad behaviour look extremely attractive" onscreen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I think people can relate to characters making bad decisions, because we've all made them," Hamm responded, noting that he leans toward playing the bad guy in film and TV projects. "My history of characters isn't exactly the saints; it's more on the sinner side of the equation," he continued. "But Superman can be kind of boring. No offense to the new Superman [David Corenswet], who I hope is a delightful person." While the Mad Men actor has had turns playing all types of roles throughout his career, some of his most notable performances were as the villain, including Sheriff Roy Tillman in Fargo season five, Buddy in 2017's Baby Driver and tech billionaire Paul Marks in The Morning Show, as per the outlet. Hailey Strikes Back: 4 Words That Just Roasted Justin Bieber's Mother's Day Shade Hamm previously shared that his iconic Mad Men character Don Draper was actually more of a villain. "Jimmy Gandolfini, whom I knew a little bit, had a similar relationship to Tony Soprano, and Bryan Cranston had it with Walter White. The character got celebrated for the wrong reasons," the actor explained. "People thought that Don was this paragon of masculinity or whatever. There were so many think-pieces, and you go, 'Wait, he was pretty fucked up.' And I was very happy with how Matt ended the story, but it was also hard," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
