NEET 2025: Student pays 17k to get tampered marks sheet to impress parents
With an intention to show his parents that he had secured good marks in NEET 2025, an 18-year-old boy from Udupi paid ₹17,000 to get a tampered mark sheet. In the complaint to Udupi Cyber Economic and Narcotic Crime Station, the father of the boy stated that during the NEET preparation period in April, his son saw videos posted on Youtube channel Editing Mater (@ Editingmaster-d6r) showing how results of NEET, CBSE and JEE can be digitally altered. Two mobile phone numbers were given in the videos asking people to call if they need fake marks card. He claimed the boy turned 18 on May 10. The boy dialled the numbers through Whatsapp. The receiver identified himself as Vishnu Kumar. The boy transferred a total of ₹17,000 to Vishnu Kumar. On June 16, Vishnu Kumar allegedly sent the boy, through Whatsapp, a digitally forged NEET scorecard and OMR sheet, which showed boy's rank as AIR 107 with 646 marks. After the boy downloaded the fake scorecard, the sender deleted it, the father said. When the boy showed the forged marks card, the elated father, a government officer, was surprised that none of the newspapers carried news about his son's performance. He sent his son's marks card to a local newspaper, which published the news. The father then checked the results on the NEET website and learnt that his son's actual rank was 17.6 lakh. The boy then confessed to his father about payment of money to get a tampered marks card. Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said the boy confided to the police about how he was forced to pay money to get a fake marks card. 'We registered the compliant of the father for offences punishable under Sections 66(c) and 66 (d) of the Information Technology Act, and under Sections 336 (2), 318(4), 335, 336(3) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. We are search for the perpetrators, who may have cheated other students in the same way,' he said.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test candidate alleges OMR manipulation, plans legal action
Bengaluru: A National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) candidate from the city has claimed that the OMR sheet displayed on the NTA (National Testing Agency) website under her name was manipulated and didn't match the responses she had given during the exam. At a press conference, Spurthy S, a student of Soundarya PU College, said she found a stark mismatch between the responses she had given and those in the OMR sheet provided on the website. In a letter written to NTA, she said: "Upon attempting to download my OMR sheet, I encountered initial technical errors. When it became accessible, I observed that the shaded bubbles for the register number were correct, but the handwritten number appeared overwritten. I also remember writing the time under my signature, as instructed by the invigilator during the exam. However, the time written on the OMR sheet isn't visible in the scanned copy. This raised concerns about possible technical misread or mismatch during evaluation." "Several answers I attempted and marked are left unshaded. Some questions I didn't attempt are marked. This has led to a discrepancy of nearly 174 marks, inconsistent with my performance and expectations," she alleged. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo According to her, while currently her rank is around 93,000, it should have been around 200, based on the answers she claimed to have marked. While she wrote to NTA on June 3, the agency replied on June 12 stating that the OMR sheet was indeed hers. "We'd like to assure you that the OMR sheet displayed on the portal is the same as the one submitted by you at the exam centre. The sheet includes the details filled in by you, such as your roll number (both in figures and bubbled format), the question paper booklet number and series code, and bears both your signature and that of the invigilator. The image visible to you is a scanned copy of the original OMR sheet received from the centre under due process. The responses shown are those marked by you during the exam. We hope this clarifies your concern," the response read. The student said she intends to approach Karnataka high court over the matter. "I secured 625 out of 625 in SSLC and 99% in II PU. In CET, I have a rank of 1,386," she added.

Constable exam paper leak case: ED raids four states
Patna: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday launched simultaneous raids in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal in connection with the police constable recruitment examination paper leak case. The large-scale operation is part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering linked to the scam. According to official sources, the search operation was conducted 11 locations in Bihar and Jharkhand. In Patna, ED officials raided the premises of Shiv, while in Ranchi, the residence of Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu was searched. Both are directly involved in the recruitment scam. Shiv is the son of Sanjeev Mukhiya, alleged mastermind of the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak, according to sources. The ED team began its operations at two separate locations in Nalanda from 7.30am. One raid was conducted at the residence of Shiv in Balwa village while the other targeted the home of Sandeep Kumar in Gosai Math village. Sandeep is said to be a close associate of Mukhiya. The teams, arriving in three ED vehicles accompanied by central security forces, involved about a dozen officials in total. Sources said original certificates of eight to ten candidates were found, along with four blank cheques. Chequebooks, passbooks, certificates, and other documents were also seized. A separate raid was carried out at Sikandar's residence near RPS Mor under Rupaspur police station limits. However, no official statement from the ED has been released so far. Tension briefly escalated in Gosai Math when around 25 villagers protested the ED action, threatening to disrupt proceedings and raising fears of stone-pelting. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel promptly brought the situation under control, and the raid continued without further hindrance until the afternoon. Sandeep, who owns the largest share of agricultural land in his village, fled before the ED team arrived, adding to suspicions of his involvement. Meanwhile, Shiv, who had been jailed earlier in the same constable recruitment paper leak case, was recently released on bail. He was also the subject of Thursday's raid in Patna. His father, Sanjeev Mukhiya, is widely considered the key figure behind the NEET-UG paper leak and has allegedly been involved in leaking several other competitive exam papers. In April 2025, he was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) in Patna after absconding since the NEET-UG leak on May 5, 2024. A reward of Rs 3 lakh had been declared for information leading to his arrest. He is currently lodged in jail. Mukhiya, formerly employed as a technical assistant at the Horticulture College in Noorsarai, Nalanda, has once again brought to light the rampant corruption in the education sector. His wife, Mamta Devi, had contested the 2020 assembly elections from Harnaut on an LJP ticket. She is expected to contest the upcoming elections as well, although it is unclear whether she will stand as an independent or represent a political party.
