Martin issues transfer promise to Rangers supporters ahead of crucial Champions League showdown
Russell Martin has pledged that Rangers will have the necessary reinforcements in place by the time they face Panathinaikos next month.
The new Ibrox manager will welcome the squad back to Auchenhowie on Monday for pre-season training.
Already without players from last term including Leon Balogun, Vaclav Cerny and Ianis Hagi, Martin has just over four weeks left before his reign begins in earnest with the home leg of the Champions League second qualifying round tie.
While Lyall Cameron has joined from Dundee and moves are afoot to sign Bournemouth right back Max Aarons and Peterborough winger Kwame Poku, there is still a lot of work to do before the squad will match the new man's expectations.
Confident the necessary additions will be made in due course, Martin said: 'I think the squad will look different. We will have some players in by then as well.
'The earlier we can do that the better, so they become ingrained in what we are trying to build culturally and in terms of performance.

'The players are back in on Monday. That's the most exciting bit. We will see what the players can do, how we are going to have to adapt and tweak to make it really built-in and ready for us, and then the rest will take care of itself.'
Martin was speaking after the Premiership fixture was announced, handing him an opening trip to Fir Park to face Jens Berthel Askou's Motherwell.
The pair previously played together at Norwich City as the Canaries won back-to-back promotions under Paul Lambert.
'We have a big fixture before that [against Panathinaikos] to really focus on, and then we can start really preparing for Motherwell and focusing on that,' said Martin.
'But, wherever we go, we want to be ourselves, we are going to try and be the team we want to be all the time. It's exciting, it's against an old team-mate of mine in Jens. We played together at Norwich many, many moons ago and we have stayed in touch.
'We know him, his character and personality and how he will have his team ready, so it will be tough.
'But they are all tough. We need to focus on ourselves and what we are going to be in the next four or five weeks and making sure we are really ready to attack every challenge, whether it's the European game before that or the start of the league season.'
Rangers could have landed Brann or Servette in Europe but were pitted against the highest-ranked team in the league path of the draw.
Undaunted by the challenge of facing the Greeks, Martin said: 'A lot of people said to me it's maybe the toughest draw we could have had, but we have to play against and beat good teams if we want to compete in European football.
'It gives us something to work towards and look at them, but the focus is going to be on us and making sure we are ready to compete against anyone by the time the game comes around.'

For one night each year, the normally quiet main street of Dunoon is transformed into a seaside town's Argyll Street and surrounding roads are closed, and rally drivers from across the UK take their turn racing around them reaching speeds of up to Argyll Rally is currently Scotland's only motor sporting event that sees racing take part on a town centre event returns this weekend for its fifth year and this time the start list features five local teams who have been inspired to take up the sport due to the local event. It's just special, it brings a tear to your eye."The rules state local drivers aren't supposed to try out the routes prior to a pre-arranged recce before the event - to make sure they aren't given an unfair David, a local courier, spends every day driving on Dunoon's roads, so he feels like he knows the roads like the back of his said this is a bonus, but driving in his van is completely different to his Ford Fiesta rally car."Every time I come up Argyll Street street, I'm analysing the road, thinking about what's the quickest line," he said."When I'm working, I'll spot a pothole and think, I'll need to watch out for that on rally night."He is piloted by his wife Jen, who gives him instructions throughout the race. As well as locals, over 100 of the country's fastest drivers head to the region for the draws hundreds of spectators but some locals aren't in favour of the event saying it is unsafe and road closures are say that strict safety protocols are implemented to ensure the safety of drivers and spectators, and the event is good for the local Moulson from Dunoon Presents told BBC Scotland News the event was worth around £500,000 to the local area through visitor spend, and it has a "tangible community feel" to it.

Inter's Acerbi threatens PSG fan over Champions League taunting
MIAMI, June 20 (Reuters) - Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi lost his cool after a Club World Cup fan wearing a Paris St Germain shirt in Seattle taunted him about last month's Champions League final, with the Italian threatening to beat him up if the teasing continued. The fan brought up a humiliating moment from Inter's 5-0 defeat by the French champions in Munich, in which Acerbi was left sprawling after some dazzling footwork by Bradley Barcola. On a video that went viral on social media, the visibly annoyed Italian international sought the help of a translator during a meet-and-greet with fans. The translator told the fan in English on Thursday: "You must be serious with him." Seconds later, Acerbi stepped in to say in Italian: 'I'm serious. Don't make fun of me — I don't like it. ... I'm crazy, I'll beat the crap out of you.' Acerbi then quickly moved on, posing for photos with other fans. Inter were not immediately available for comment. Inter take on the Urawa Red Diamonds in Group E on Saturday.

The Belgium international cost £1.75million when arriving from Standard Liege in January 2023 and his value is soaring.
