Doctor charged with Supplying ketamine to Matthew Perry Agrees to Plead Guilty
Yara Sameh
Matthew Perry's doctor, Salvador Plasencia, has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine to the 'Friends' star, who died of an overdose in October 2023.
Plasencia admitted in the plea agreement that he repeatedly provided ketamine without a legitimate medical purpose in the weeks leading up to Perry's death. The agreement anticipates a prison sentence in the range of 15-21 months, though the sentence will be up to the judge.
Perry was found dead in his hot tub at his home in the Pacific Palisades. He was 54.
Last summer, federal authorities charged Plasencia and four others with responsibility for his death. In a text message to another doctor, Plasencia allegedly wrote, 'I wonder how much this moron will pay… Let's find out.'
Prosecutors have also charged Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed the 'Ketamine Queen,' with possessing and distributing methamphetamine and ketamine out of a stash house in North Hollywood.
Sangha is due to go on trial in August.
Three other defendants — Erik Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa and Mark Chavez — had also agreed to plead guilty to a single count of conspiracy to supply ketamine.
Authorities alleged that Plasencia attempted to cover his tracks during the investigation, concocting a bogus 'treatment plan' for Perry in a show that the ketamine was legitimately prescribed.

Ezra Miller Is Considering Hollywood Return after 2-Year Hiatus
Yara Sameh Before Ezra Miller was spotted bolting down the red carpet at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival last month, he had largely remained out of the public eye for the past two years following a series of arrests. The actor recently said he was considering returning to Hollywood 'on tentative grounds' after his friend and "We Need to Talk About Kevin" (2011) director Lynne Ramsay 'Asked me to come' to Cannes in support of the world premiere of her film "Die My Love". 'I came to Cannes to support one of my closest friends in the world, who is Lynne Ramsay—who I think is one of the greatest living filmmakers,' Miller told Italian outlet Lo Speciale Giornale . 'I'm working with her again, that will likely be the first thing I do, is a film that her and I are writing together.' He added, 'I've been writing a lot, because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me.' The "Flash" actor said Cannes was a 'tough re-entry point' after he was the subject of several incidents going back to 2020, including assault, harassment, burglary, and the alleged grooming of an 18-year-old, whose father withdrew the complaint last August. 'Not that I don't hold a lot of remorse and lamentation for a lot of things I did and a lot of things that happened in that time, but I'm really, really grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss,' Miller added. After a temporary harassment order was lifted against the "Fantastic Beasts" actor by a Massachusetts court following allegations that he behaved inappropriately around her 12-year-old child, he told Deadline he was 'very grateful' for the order, claiming that the woman was 'seeking attention or fleeting tabloid fame or some sort of personal vengeance.' 'I have been unjustly and directly targeted by an individual who the facts have shown has a history of such manipulative and destructive action,' Miller said in June 2023. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
