Rainy weather in most of PH on Independence Day due to LPA, Habagat
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring scattered rains over Batanes, Cagayan while the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and western Mindanao will have scattered rains due to the southwest monsoon or habagat, PAGASA reported.
As of 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 235 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Wutip remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,025 kilometers west of Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 kph and moving northwestward at the speed of 10 kph.
Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro will have monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila, La Union, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, and Antique will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
Batanes and Cagayan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for northern and western sections of Luzon is moderate to strong moving southwestward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The wind speed forecast in Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the southeast to south direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Teachers in Sarangani brave flooded river to get home
Several teachers were caught in a dangerous situation as they attempted to cross a swollen river after heavy rains triggered flooding in Sitio Banlas, Barangay Kihan, Malapatan, Sarangani. The incident happened on Thursday, June 19, 2025. According to one of the teachers, Jailene Tusan, who uploaded the video, they were on their way home from Akbual Elementary School in Barangay Upper Suyan when they saw the river's rough waters. In Zamboanga Sibugay, floodwaters entered the houses in Purok Uno, Veterans Village, Ipil town due to continuous rainfall. State weather bureau PAGASA said the flooding in some parts of Mindanao is due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone. In its forecast early morning on Saturday, June 21, 2025, PAGASA said the ITCZ would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, and Palawan, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao. —GMA Regional TV News

An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring rains over Mindanao and parts of Luzon on Sunday, respectively, according to PAGASA's weather forecast. Davao Region and Soccsksargen will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ affecting southern Mindanao. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides. Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Habagat affecting the western section of Luzon. Several Metro Manila roads flooded due to thunderstorm
Several roads in Metro Manila on Saturday were flooded because of a thunderstorm. The thunderstorm, which also affected nearby provinces such as Bulacan, Pampanga, and Cavite began in the afternoon, according to weather bureau PAGASA.
