According to one of the teachers, Jailene Tusan, who uploaded the video, they were on their way home from Akbual Elementary School in Barangay Upper Suyan when they saw the river's rough waters. In Zamboanga Sibugay, floodwaters entered the houses in Purok Uno, Veterans Village, Ipil town due to continuous rainfall. State weather bureau PAGASA said the flooding in some parts of Mindanao is due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
