Summer Game Fest 2025: How to watch and what to expect
It isn't officially summer until Summer Game Fest kicks things off. This yearly event is back and looks like the biggest one yet, with more partners and looks at upcoming video games teased than ever before. Everything from the biggest AAA titles to passionate indie games will get a time to shine on one of the biggest platforms of the year.
Unlike showcases of old, Summer Game Fest is a multi-day event that includes individual showcases across the entire weekend. Whether you're playing on PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, or PC, there's at least one game or showcase that will appeal to you. We've decoded the entire schedule so you can tune in to anything and everything that catches your eye, plus we've listed everything we know for sure will be shown off.

When is Summer Game Fest 2025
Summer Game Fest 2025 kickoff showcase will begin on Friday, June 6, at 2 pm PT and run for about 2 hours. Just like last year, this initial showcase will transition directly into the Day of the Devs showcase to shine a light on some smaller projects.
June 7 will begin with the Wholesome Direct at 9 am PT, with both the Future Games Show and Green Games Showcase running concurrently at 1 pm.
The final day, June 8, opens with the Xbox Games Showcase at 10 am PT and rolling straight into a dedicated The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. The last showcase of the entire event is the PC Gaming Show at 12 pm.
How to watch Summer Game Fest 2025
Geoff Keighly, the creator and host of Summer Game Fest, will be personally streaming the event on both the official SGF YouTube and Twitch channels. You can see Geoff's 'Hype Trailer' above to get a tease of what is in store for the kickoff event, but check back at those pages on June 6 to join in on the countdown before the live event.
Besides the official channels, many big streamers and media outlets will be co-streaming the event if you want to see other people react to the event in real time.

For SGF 2025, Geoff has teased over 60 partners, including big names like 2K, IOI, Square Enix, Xbox, Sega, Nintendo, and more. While we're expecting a ton of surprise reveals and deeper looks at already announced games, these are the games that have either been confirmed or heavily teased across the entire SGF weekend.

The Chicago Cubs player widely known as 'PCA' is the son of Ashley Armstrong and Matthew John Armstrong. The MLB star recently shared what it was like growing up with actors as parents. Advertisement 'Everyone expects this Hollywood answer to this question,' Crow-Armstrong told ESPN recently. 'Nah, I was outside every day playing ball. Minimal screen time. I went to set once or twice, but other than that, I was in the backyard. We had a big backyard.' Ashley agreed, stating that baseball was always at top of mind for him even at a young age. 'That backyard was his home. He would wake up in the morning and head right to the backyard.' Ashley is known for her role as Jenny Heywood in the 1994 baseball movie Little Big League as well as Janice in 1993 film The Good Son starring Macaulay Culkin. She also starred in guest roles in Grey's Anatomy, 1987 The Equalizer, and Law & Order. PCA's father, Matthew, is known for his roles in the 2006 TV series Heroes as Ted Sprague and Pete Pryor in American Dreams. He also starred in American Horror Story, The Young and the Restless, and The CW's Supernatural. Advertisement Before PCA got into the major leagues, his parents and family friends reminisced about his upbringing and his time playing in little league. 'He's always run the bases like someone is chasing him,' Drew Bowser, who is childhood friend of PCA and is now a Cubs minor leaguer said. 'He just kept getting better and better and better. What you're seeing is not surprising, at least not to me.' Baseball has always been a play of joy for PCA and where he was able to unlock a deeper part of himself. 'It's kind of a corny cinema in a way,' he said. 'The dads are drinking beer, and all the kids are playing whiffle ball and throwing the football on the field after hours. Just being kids. Advertisement 'I found so much of myself on a baseball field.' PCA was the 19th overall pick of the 2020 MLB draft and chosen by the New York Mets. He only stayed on the Mets' roster for one season, as he was traded in 2021 to the Cubs in exchange for shortstop Javier Báez and pitcher Trevor Williams. The former fan favorite had been exiled by the Chicago Cubs after parting on bad terms with the team 21 years ago. Now the team's all-time home run leader was welcomed back to his old stomping grounds. And he caught up with current fan favorite Pete Crow-Armstrong for a photo op. Crow-Armstrong was just two years old when Sosa last took the field for the Cubs back in 2004. Sosa had been a wildly popular player during his 13-year run with Chicago. He hit 545 of his 609 career home runs with the team. And Sosa is the only player in the history of baseball to hit 60 home runs in three different seasons, all with the Cubs. Most famously, Sosa hit 66 home runs in 1998 while competing with Mark McGwire for the single-season home run record. McGwire edged him out, finishing the campaign with a then-record 70 homers. However, Sosa led the majors in RBI (158), runs scored (134) and total bases (416), winning National League MVP. While he denied using steroids, the allegations persisted and the team cut ties with Sosa, trading him to the Orioles following the 2004 season. Apparently, it worked as the team welcomed him back to Wrigley Field where he had the opportunity to meet with the franchise's budding superstar, Crow-Armstrong. PCA is in the midst of a potentially historic season for the Cubs. In his second year with the team, Crow-Armstrong has displayed his rare combination of power and speed, putting him on pace to join the 40/40 club. Only six players in MLB history have hit 40 home runs and stolen 40 bases in a season. And Sosa isn't one of them. Speed was an element of the seven-time All-Star's game early in his career. But Sosa's base-stealing prowess had tapered off by the time power suddenly began dominating his game. However, Sosa did record two 30/30 seasons. Crow-Armstrong is already up to 20 home runs and 23 steals through 73 games this season. He continues to play at a level manager Craig Counsell has never seen from a center fielder, helping lead the Cubs to the best record in the National League.
