Chile's central bank will likely hold its key interest rate steady Tuesday, while signaling plans to resume monetary easing as global headwinds crimp growth and local inflation slows toward target.
Policymakers led by Rosanna Costa will keep the overnight rate at 5% after markets close, according to 14 of 19 economists in a Bloomberg survey. The remaining five expect a quarter-point reduction to 4.75%.
