Now, Tube & Berger, fellow Berlin groove architects Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic -heads of Kittball Records, have injected it with a fresh dose of cinematic tension.
Their remix doesn't walk onto the dancefloor, it haunts it.
With horror-funk synths towering like cathedral organs and voodoo-driven percussion, this is a tribute to the darker, more primal pulse of the underground.
We caught up with Tube & Berger this week and asked them to curate a playlist to mark the release of their remix.

The suspect, 22, was reportedly the "groom" in the twisted ceremony which played out before 100 horrified guests at the iconic Sleeping Beauty castle. The lifelike ceremony - complete with white chairs, a giant cake, musicians and the castle - was reportedly attended by the girl's family and a large crowd at dawn on Sunday. Police arrested the man, along with the girl's 41-year-old mum, who is believed to be Ukrainian. The "groom" told cops the ceremony was meant to create a video for social media. The art of political dressing: As Michelle Obama's new book will highlight, fashion choices can make political statements
It's an experience that's not unique to the former US first lady: politics and fashion go hand in hand. While some may think fashion is frivolous, getting dressed is a conscious act and one that can have even more weight when you're on the public stage. That's the reason world leaders often wear something from the country they are visiting when on official trips: think of Queen Elizabeth's shamrock-adorned dress for her historic state dinner in Dublin in 2011. But more often, it's a subtle form of communication that the best political movers know how to use to their advantage. Take the focus on Michelle Obama herself, for example. While she was criticised for having her arms on show or being too sexy in some of her looks, she championed designers from diverse backgrounds such as Jason Wu and Naeem Khan. Khan is the epitome of the American dream. Having grown up in Mumbai, he moved to America to pursue a career in fashion at 20. Barack Obama's campaign poster had 'hope' written in bold lettering, and what is more hopeful than the tale of a young immigrant who went on to dress the first lady? While fashion can display an important message, it's not always a positive one. Current US First Lady Melania Trump has had a plethora of well-deserved critiques on her fashion choices. The most notable was in 2018 when she visited a shelter in Texas where children of suspected illegal immigrants were housed. She chose to wear a Zara jacket that had 'I really don't care, do u?' written on the back. Though initially her representatives dismissed any significance to the message, saying it was 'just a jacket', she later claimed that she had been sending a message to the 'left-wing media' who criticised her. There seems to have been no lasting damage done – in the eyes of the fashion world at least. Where during their first term in office many designers refused to dress the Trumps and their wider circle, this time they have been embraced by big names such as Oscar de la Renta. It's not only women who are critiqued on their fashion choices: when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky showed up to meet President Donald Trump at the White House wearing his signature sweatshirt in February, he was met with hostility. Trump remarked 'You're all dressed up today', to which Zelensky replied he would wear a suit when the war is over — his wardrobe is a deliberate nod to his countrymen who are fighting on the front lines. Interestingly, Trump doesn't seem to expect the same standard of dress from ex-bestie-turned-enemy Elon Musk, who has been pictured in the Oval Office wearing slogan T-shirts and baseball caps. Proof that dressing down can also be a power play. As Michelle Obama put it when writing about her forthcoming book: 'The Look is about more than fashion. It's about confidence. It's about identity. It's about the power of authenticity.' What your Trump victory sneakers say about you… You don't exist. No really, does anyone actually own these gold, American flag-adorned 'Never Surrender' high-tops? For a mere $399 you too can be on the wrong side of history! Putting politics aside for one minute, who on earth is trusting Donald Trump with fashion choices? Presumably the same people who bought the $199 Fight Fight Fight desert boots, the $249 America's Superhero low-top trainers, and the $499 Trump golf shoes – limited to 1,000 pairs and available for both men and women from These sneakers are gaudy and cheap looking. In fact, if you bought these sneakers, I'm glad you're down $399, you don't deserve the cash.

Coleen Rooney says Unicef support for Ukrainian families is a ‘lifeline'
The media personality recently travelled to Poland with Unicef to see how Soccer Aid donations have directly supported Ukrainian families who were forced to flee their homes. The 39-year-old said she could not 'imagine' what Ukrainian refugee families must be going through, emphasising how important it is to stand with them. She said: 'I can relate to being a mum and the first thing (you would do) in that situation is to get out of danger, to make sure that the kids are OK and we can find somewhere. 'I couldn't imagine what was going through their heads… the emotions.' While in Krakow she visited the Spilno Hub, which helps families find accommodation and offers access to a range of services such as psychosocial support and legal assistance. The Unicef-run centre has helped people such as Yuliia Karpenko, her sister Olisia and Yuliia's four-year-old daughter Anastasiia 'Nastia' who were forced to flee Ukraine with just one bag on an evacuation train. She said: 'Hearing about the lasting effect the war in Ukraine has had on Yuliia and her family will stay with me for a long time. 'Her determination to create a safe and supportive community for her family in Poland really shone through. 'Thanks to Unicef, she's been able to meet other mums, learn Polish and find work in a kitchen. 'And her daughter, Nastia, has been able to make friends with other children and spend time playing, just as any four-year-old should. 'It was a privilege meeting Yuliia and her family and to see how money raised by Soccer Aid for Unicef really is changing lives. 'Leaving their home and not knowing when they'll be able to return was so hard for them. 'But spending time at the Spilno Hub has helped them to feel safe. 'It supports families who've fled the war in Ukraine in so many ways. 'It's a very special place.' During the trip, Rooney visited the Education Rehabilitation Centre, a specialist school funded by the children's organisation which supports young people with disabilities. There she met a young autistic boy, Murat, who could not talk when they first left Ukraine and has since been able to say a few words. She said: 'It's such a calming place and the teachers there are so supportive and caring. 'Kateryna (Murat's mother) told me that the changes she's seen in Murat have been incredible. 'When they left Ukraine he wasn't able to talk but he's now started to say some words and can communicate with other children too. 'She said that when they arrived in Poland she felt hopeless but, thanks to Unicef, she can now see a future there for them.' Donations made to Soccer Aid for Unicef will be doubled this year up to £5 million thanks to the Children's Investment Fund Foundation. Rooney said: 'As a mum myself, I couldn't help but think of my own boys when I met children like Nastia and Murat. 'Seeing them smile and play despite everything they've been through was incredibly moving. 'Hearing their stories really reminded me how important it is that we stand with families who've been through so much, every child deserves a safe space to play – as a parent this is all you want for your child.'
