Rashid Equestrian Club to Host Eid Al Fitr Festival with Exciting Races

Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club will organise the 'Eid Al Fitr Festival' during its 26th and 27th races, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, April 3 and 4, 2025, in celebration of Eid Al Fitr.
The festival follows the success of the Ramadan night races and forms part of the club's continued efforts to organise various events alongside horse races in conjunction with national occasions.
The two day event will offer an exceptional experience, combining Eid festivities and entertainment with competitive races featuring top horses at the club's racecourse.
Seventeen races will be held across the two days, featuring strong participation from horses across various categories. Competitions will include the late Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cup, Majid Rashid Al Zayani Cup, Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup, Applied Science University Cup, Sarens Nass Cup, and the Royal Golf Club Cup.

Young Bahraini jockeys to sharpen skills in Britain

As part of its ongoing efforts to develop national equestrian talent, the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club is sending a group of Bahraini jockeys and apprentice riders to the British Jockeys Academy for an advanced training course. Ahead of their departure, Mohammed Ahmed Al Nemah, Acting Director of the Jockeys Support Fund, met with the riders to offer guidance and motivation. The training mission is backed by the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court. Al Nemah reaffirmed the Fund's ongoing efforts to support and qualify promising riders in partnership with key institutions. The riders thanked the club's leadership and management, pledging to represent the Kingdom with pride and to gain maximum benefit from the opportunity.

The Gurudeva Social Society, operating from Salmaniya Kanoo Garden, in collaboration with Star Vision Events, successfully organized 'Samanwayam 2025' at the Indian Club recently. The vibrant event marked the inauguration of the society's new executive committee for the year 2025-26 and concluded the silver jubilee celebrations held by the society last year. A highlight was the Mehndi Night held in conjunction with Eid. The musical night featuring Mappila songs and a one-man show by renowned singer and comedy artist Rajesh Adimali added to the grandeur of the ceremonies. The event, held in a packed auditorium with prominent figures from Bahrain's social, cultural, and political spheres, along with representatives from other organizations, family members, and children, was presided over by the society's chairman, Sanish Koorumullil. The chief guest, Idukki Member of Parliament Adv. Dean Kuriakose, inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp. Special address Prominent businessman and Pravasi Bharathiya Samman Award recipient K. G. Baburajan delivered a special address as the guest of honor. The GSS Business Icon Award for this year was presented to Dr. K. S. Menon, a prominent businessman and Managing Director of Bordaan Contracting Company, by the chief guest. Shabeer M. K., Managing Director of Uniform City, was also felicitated at the ceremony

Formula 1 and FIA announce 2026 calendar

Formula 1 and the FIA have announced the calendar for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship, which will see the introduction of a new venue, new teams and new regulations for the next generation of F1 cars that will run on 100% advanced sustainable fuels. Commencing in Australia on 6-8 March, the calendar, which was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, will feature 24 races, with the season finale in Abu Dhabi on 4-6 December. In 2026, Ramadan will be throughout February and March, meaning the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will once again be held in April. The 2026 calendar sees further improvements to the geographical flow of races, including the Canadian Grand Prix now following Miami in an earlier slot from 22-24 May, delivering significant freight efficiencies as some equipment can move directly from one to the other. This change creates a consolidated European leg of the season across the summer months, beginning in Monaco from 5-7 June, and finishing in Spain, where Madrid will make its Formula 1 calendar debut from 11-13 September. The Championship then returns to Asia with the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix, ahead of a triple header in the Americas, before Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi once again close out the season. Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said: '2026 will be a new era for Formula 1 where we will witness a brand-new set of regulations for our sport, the cars and the engines that will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel. We are excited to welcome Madrid to the calendar, and to see huge automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac and Ford join the Formula 1 grid. It promises to be an unforgettable season, where once again we will come together at 24 amazing global venues to watch the best drivers in the world push themselves to the limit and produce incredible wheel to wheel racing for our millions of fans watching around the globe. I want to thank all our fans for their passionate support and the FIA, with all the volunteers, marshals and officials, as well as the promoters, partners, sponsors, host cities and the local motor racing federations for their commitment and support in delivering this schedule in what I know will be another historic year for Formula 1.'
