
Crisis Management Technologies Exhibition receives Guinness World Record

ABU DHABI (WAM)The Crisis Management Technologies Exhibition marked a new global milestone for the UAE, entering the Guinness World Records for showcasing the largest transparent interactive screen in the world, spanning 12.567 square metres.This cutting-edge achievement was made possible through the efforts of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).The Guinness World Records Official Certificate was presented to Ali Rashid Al Neyadi, Director-General of NCEMA, by Hanane Spiers, Official Adjudicator, MENA Region.On the occasion, Al Neyadi said, "We have learned from our wise leadership to always strive for number one, to shape the future with our own hands, making the UAE a model for others to follow. We are proud to dedicate this achievement to our leadership, to the people of the UAE, and to everyone who calls this country home."This milestone reflects NCEMA's commitment to deploying the most advanced technologies and forward-thinking innovations to elevate emergency and crisis management ecosystem, drive smart preparedness, and foster public engagement, ultimately supporting societal readiness in the face of any future challenges."
The transparent interactive screen features smart glass technology powered by advanced artificial intelligence, offering a holographic display with motion-sensing capabilities that enable visitors to interact through hand gestures, creating an immersive and truly unique experience.

GCC visitors spending expected to reach $223.7 billion in 2034: GCC-Stat
21 June 2025 16:04 MUSCAT (WAM) The latest data released by the Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-Stat) revealed that the expected spending by visitors to GCC countries is projected to reach $223.7 billion in 2034, while the expected contribution of incoming visitor spending to total exports will reach 13.4%.The Centre also indicated that GCC countries are achieving steady progress in many tourism-related data demonstrate that total international visitor spending in GCC countries amounted to $135.5 billion in 2023, with a 28.9% increase compared to the figures recorded in GCC countries ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa region's 2024 Safety and Security Index. All GCC countries scored above the regional average of 5.86 points, taking into consideration that the index ranges from 1 to 7 points. They also ranked among the top 6 countries in terms of passport power in the Arab region.

Sheikh Abdullah delivers UAE President's message to Canadian PM
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has delivered a message from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. The "written message" focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Canada, national news agency Wam reported. Sheikh Abdullah also held talks with Prime Minister Carney at the start of his working visit to the country. The two sides discussed ways to deepen cooperation and expand joint collaboration across various sectors to advance shared interests. The talks also explored opportunities for further collaboration in key sectors including trade and commerce, energy, AI and education. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the strong and growing partnership between the UAE and Canada, supported by constructive and forward-looking cooperation. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, with Sheikh Abdullah reaffirming the importance of strengthening joint efforts to support global peace and security. During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah also held talks with Anita Anand, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs and François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Finance and National Revenue. His discussions with Minister Champagne focused on enhancing cooperation in economic and financial fields, including developing mechanisms to support investment between the public and private sectors in both countries.
