Southwest flight chaos: Drunk NYC woman dragged off plane after hair-pulling, spitting incident; worked with top brands
A drunken passenger arrested at New York's LaGuardia Airport for causing a late-night scene on a Southwest Airlines flight — including grabbing another woman's hair, spitting and refusing to calm down, has been identified as a New York City-based artist who has worked with major fashion brands.
The passenger, 32-year-old illustrator Leanna Perry, has previously worked with major fashion and beauty brands like Maybelline, Adidas, Steve Madden, MAC, and Hot Topic, her online profile shows.
The violent episode unfolded early Tuesday morning at LaGuardia Airport, where Perry was filmed yelling at fellow travelers and resisting efforts by airline staff to remove her from the plane. Witnesses described her as acting 'possessed' before she was eventually restrained and escorted off the aircraft.
Perry's website reveals she started working as a lead designer at Maybelline last year and has also collaborated with designers Betsey Johnson and Nicole Miller, the New York Post reported.
Perry, who police said was 'intoxicated' when she was removed from the flight before takeoff, was caught on camera shouting at a female passenger, calling her a "fat a** bitch," and pulling her hair.
Video footage shows Perry shouting, "Shut the f**k up, don't f**king touch me!" at the startled passenger, before other travellers and airline personnel stepped in to intervene.
Despite repeated requests from Southwest staff members, Perry refused to release her grip on the woman's hair, as evidenced in the recordings.
Although staff eventually managed to separate them and restrain Perry's hands with zip ties, she remained uncontrollable.
Perry persisted in directing verbal abuse towards the woman, whilst also targeting other passengers with her outburst.
According to the criminal complaint, she proceeded to kick and spit at officers during their attempts to remove her from the plane and take her into custody.
Following the incident, Perry received medical attention before being transferred to the New York City Department of Corrections, according to PAPD.

CBI busts Rs 183 crore fake bank guarantee scam, PNB official among two arrested
Bhopal: In a major breakthrough, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has unearthed a massive Rs 183 crore fake bank guarantee scam involving an Indore-based private firm, M/s Teerth Gopicon Limited. The agency has confirmed the arrest of two key accused -- Govind Chandra Hansda, a senior manager at Punjab National Bank (PNB), and Mohd Firoz Khan -- both allegedly central to the fraudulent operation. The scam came to light following a directive from the Madhya Pradesh High Court, prompting the CBI to register three separate cases on May 9, 2025. Investigations revealed that Teerth Gopicon Limited had submitted eight forged bank guarantees, valued at Rs 183.21 crore, to secure three irrigation projects worth Rs 974 crore from the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Limited (MPJNL) in 2023. These guarantees were falsely validated through emails sent from a fake PNB email ID, misleading MPJNL into awarding the contracts. The CBI's probe led to coordinated raids across 23 locations in five states -- Delhi, West Bengal, Gujarat, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh -- on June 19 and 20. The arrests were made in Kolkata, where both accused were produced before a local court and are now being brought to Indore on transit remand for further interrogation. Preliminary findings suggest the involvement of a larger network operating out of Kolkata, specialising in fabricating bank guarantees to fraudulently obtain government contracts. The agency suspects that several other private entities and public officials may be complicit in the racket, and further arrests are likely as the investigation deepens. The CBI has reiterated its commitment to dismantling such criminal syndicates and ensuring accountability. The case underscores the urgent need for stricter verification protocols in public procurement processes and enhanced cybersecurity measures within banking institutions to prevent misuse of digital identities. As the investigation progresses, authorities are hopeful that the full extent of the conspiracy will be exposed, and all those responsible will be brought to justice.

Aflac finds suspicious activity on US network that may impact Social Security numbers, other data
Aflac says that it has identified suspicious activity on its network in the U.S. that may impact Social Security numbers and other personal information, calling the incident part of a cybercrime campaign against the insurance industry. The company said Friday that the intrusion was stopped within hours. 'We continue to serve our customers as we respond to this incident and can underwrite policies, review claims, and otherwise service our customers as usual,' Aflac said in a statement. The company said that it's in the early stages of a review of the incident, and so far is unable to determine the total number of affected individuals. Aflac Inc. said potentially impacted files contain claims information, health information, Social Security numbers, and other personal information, related to customers, beneficiaries, employees, agents, and other individuals in its U.S. business. The Columbus, Georgia-based company said that it will offer free credit monitoring and identity theft protection and Medical Shield for 24 months to anyone that calls its call center. Aflac is not the only company to deal with an incident recently. A string of recent cyberattacks and data breaches involving the systems of major retailers have started affecting shoppers. United Natural Foods, a wholesale distributor that supplies Whole Foods and other grocers, said earlier this month that a breach of its systems was disrupting its ability to fulfill orders — leaving many stores without certain items. In the U.K., consumers could not order from the website of Marks & Spencer for more than six weeks — and found fewer in-store options after hackers targeted the British clothing, home goods and food retailer. A cyberattack on Co-op, a U.K. grocery chain, also led to empty shelves in some stores. A security breach detected by Victoria's Secret last month led the popular lingerie seller to shut down its U.S. shopping site for nearly four days, as well as to halt some in-store services. Victoria's Secret later disclosed that its corporate systems also were affected, too, causing the company to delay the release of its first quarter earnings. The North Face said that it discovered a 'small-scale credential stuffing attack' on its website in April. The company reported that no credit card data was compromised and said the incident, which impacted 1,500 consumers, was 'quickly contained.' Meanwhile, Adidas disclosed last month that an 'unauthorized external party' obtained some data, which was mostly contact information, through a third-party customer service provider. Jeff Bezos' wedding in Italy: Why Orlando Bloom will be there without Katy Perry
Jeff Bezos' wedding in Italy: Why Orlando Bloom will be there without Katy Perry As Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez prepare for their extravagant wedding in Venice, Italy, the guest list is turning heads, and so is the absence of one major celebrity couple's full presence. Actor Orlando Bloom , who is confirmed to be attending the multiday celebration later this month, is going solo. His fiancée, pop icon Katy Perry , won't be joining him, and the timing has sparked renewed speculation about the state of their high-profile relationship. But is this a sign of serious trouble, or just an unavoidable scheduling conflict? Let's break down everything we know from Katy's tour dates to the ongoing rumours and how one of the world's most-watched weddings has quietly become a stage for celebrity gossip and digital buzz. Orlando Bloom will attend Bezos-Sánchez wedding without Katy Perry by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo According to sources confirmed by TMZ, Orlando Bloom is expected to attend the Bezos-Sánchez wedding festivities in Italy alone. While the idea of Bloom showing up without Perry, his partner of more than seven years, has fueled speculation online, insiders point out that there's a practical reason for her absence: Perry is currently on a sold-out tour in Australia. The international pop star is performing a string of 15 shows across major cities, a tour that was scheduled months before Bezos and Sánchez finalised their wedding dates. That timing clash appears to be the only explanation for her absence, but with public interest in their relationship constantly under the spotlight, the optics have added fresh fuel to ongoing breakup rumours. Katy Perry's tour and the overlap with Bezos' wedding Katy Perry's Australian tour is a major event, drawing tens of thousands of fans and generating massive media attention. The tour, a blend of her biggest hits and new material, runs through the latter half of June and into early July, directly overlapping with Bezos and Sánchez's multiday wedding celebration in Venice. Given Perry's commitments, as reported by TMZ, including rehearsals, travel, and promotional obligations, it would have been logistically impossible for her to fly to Europe for the wedding without cancelling or rescheduling shows. Industry sources say Perry's tour was locked in before Bezos and Sánchez had even sent out invitations, making her absence more about prior professional obligations than personal drama. The relationship rumours: What's going on? Despite the practical reason behind Perry's no-show, the public has been quick to speculate about potential cracks in her relationship with Bloom. The couple got engaged in 2019 and share a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, born in 2020. Since then, they've maintained a relatively low profile when it comes to their private life, but as with most celebrity relationships, absence often breeds rumours. Recent headlines have pointed to fewer public appearances together and speculation from tabloid outlets about delays in their wedding plans. However, neither Bloom nor Perry has made any public comment suggesting their engagement is in jeopardy. Both have been spotted wearing their engagement rings and have publicly supported each other's work on several occasions in the past year. Jeff Bezos' Venice wedding: Drone shows, AI dinners, and a billionaire guest list While the celebrity guest list is drawing attention, so is the wedding itself. Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder and executive chairman, is no stranger to spectacle. Sources suggest that the wedding will be a multi-day affair featuring top-tier security, luxury accommodations, and a heavy presence of the tech world's elite. Bezos has been gradually stepping back from daily operations at Amazon while shifting focus to ventures like Blue Origin and The Washington Post. His relationship with Lauren Sánchez, a media personality, helicopter pilot, and philanthropist, has been closely followed since they went public in 2019. Their wedding is expected to be a blend of old-world European charm and cutting-edge tech, think drone displays over Venetian canals, AI-curated dinner menus, and possibly even Blue Origin-branded wedding favours. Bezos wedding buzz: Who's attending, and who's not Orlando Bloom isn't the only A-lister expected to attend the Bezos-Sánchez nuptials. While the guest list has been kept largely under wraps, insiders say it includes major names from the entertainment, business, and political worlds. Expect appearances from tech billionaires, top Hollywood stars, and international figures from fashion and media.
