US Issues ‘Worldwide Caution' for Americans as Middle East Tensions Escalate
Against the backdrop of the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, the US has issued a Worldwide Caution Security Alert to American citizens living or traveling abroad.
The security alert, released by the US Department of State, urges American citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution amid the mounting tensions in the Middle East.
'The conflict between Israel and Iran has resulted in disruptions to travel and periodic closure of airspace across the Middle East. There is the potential for demonstrations against US citizens and interests abroad,' the security alert read.
'The Department of State advises US citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution,' it added.
The updated security alert came on the heels of the US intervention in the Iran-Israel conflict, by providing direct military support to Israel in order to eliminate Tehran's nuclear capabilities.
Early on Sunday, the US targeted three key nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan, with bunker-buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles. The US President, Donald Trump, announced a 'very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran.'
He also declared that Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities 'have been completely and totally obliterated,' warning Tehran of future attacks if it retaliated.
On its part, Tehran accused the US of launching a 'dangerous war' on Iran amid ongoing diplomatic efforts, saying that it reserves the right to defend itself with full force. Moreover, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned that the US 'outrageous' attacks will have 'everlasting consequences.'

Trump ‘still interested' in Iran diplomacy: White House
Donald Trump thinks Iranians should overthrow their government if it refuses to negotiate on its nuclear program, but the US president is 'still interested' in diplomacy, the White House said Monday. 'If the Iranian regime refuses to come to a peaceful diplomatic solution, which the president is still interested and engaging in, by the way, why shouldn't the Iranian people take away the power of this incredibly violent regime that has been suppressing them for decades?' Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News.
