Box Office: Monday actuals boost Final Destination Bloodlines to USD 105M globally
If one thought USD 102 million global opening for Final Destination: Bloodlines was its peak, let us inform you that the Monday actuals figure has pushed that total past USD 105 million, meaning 3 million more than its already extravagant debut frame revenue. The sixth installment in the long-running horror franchise has delivered the best-ever launch for a Final Destination film and is now the second-biggest horror opening worldwide post-COVID, only behind Alien: Romulus.
The film's USD 3 million uptick from weekend projections overseas took its international total to a record-breaking USD 54.1 million across 71 markets. This surpasses Five Nights at Freddy's (USD 52.8M) and places it squarely beneath the aforementioned movie's USD 61.8 million in the post-pandemic horror hierarchy. Coupled with its impressive USD 51.7 million domestic debut in the United States, Final Destination: Bloodlines scored a global launch that sets a new bar for the franchise and the horror genre alike.
The supernatural thriller, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana as a college student who inherits visions of a 1968 premonition from her dying grandmother, warning that death is now chasing her bloodline. The film features Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and franchise mainstay Tony Todd in supporting roles.
Originally conceived as a reimagining after the success of Final Destination 5 (2011), the film evolved into the continuation of the franchise. The creative team included Guy Busick, Lori Evans Taylor, and Jon Watts, who experimented with the storyline by merging the franchise's mythology with a new narrative anchored in generational trauma. After initially being slated for a streaming release on HBO Max, the film was shifted to a theatrical rollout by Warner Bros. in March 2024.
Production wrapped in Vancouver after delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike, and Bloodlines was finally released in the States on May 16, 2025. The film has earned critical praise in abundance, becoming the best-reviewed title in the franchise and breathing new life into the series.
With this strong showing, Final Destination: Bloodlines is on track to surpass the global lifetime gross of every previous film in the series by Friday.

Dhanush's 'Kubera,' also starring Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, has premiered strongly in North America, earning over USD 505,468. Early Day 1 shows added another USD 400K, pushing the total gross to over USD 900K. The film is on track to surpass USD 1 million on its opening day, marking a significant overseas success for Dhanush. Dhanush 's latest release Kubera is off to a flying start at the North American box office. The action-packed drama, directed by Sekhar Kammula and also starring Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna , has struck a chord with overseas audiences, especially in the United States and Canada, where it posted impressive numbers from its premiere and opening day morning shows. Exclusive | Kajol CANDID On Horror Fears and Son Yug's Voice Debut In 'Karate Kids: Legends' According to distributor Prathyangira Cinemas, Kubera minted a solid USD 505,468 from its premiere shows alone in North America. The film opened across hundreds of locations on June 20, with fans of Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Telugu cinema turning up in large numbers for the early screenings. The strong advance bookings had already hinted at a promising start, and the premiere numbers confirmed that the film had lived up to expectations. But the momentum didn't stop there. As of 9:15 AM IST on its opening day, Kubera had added another USD 400K from early Day 1 shows across North America. This takes the film's total North America gross to over USD 900K ( Rs 7.80 crore) within a very short span, putting it well on track to breach the coveted USD 1 million mark by the end of its first day. This performance is particularly significant for Dhanush, who enjoys a loyal fan following in the overseas market. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Thị trường có dấu hiệu suy thoái không? IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Kuberaa marks his most substantial North American start to date, bolstered by the presence of Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, both of whom are popular names in the Telugu diaspora. Trade analysts predict that if this momentum holds through the evening and weekend shows, Kubera could easily secure a position among the top-grossing South Indian films in North America for 2025. The positive word-of-mouth and solid early audience feedback suggest that the film is not just a star vehicle, but a well-received entertainer across markets. With over USD 900K already in the bag, Kuberaa is proving to be a major overseas winner for Dhanush and the team. Dhanush is all set to retrun to Hindi cinema with Aanand L Rai after Raanjhana and Atrangi Re. The film has been titled Tere Ishk Mein where Kriti Sanon is paired opposite him.

Sitaare Zameen Par Opening Day Box Office: Aamir Khan starrer has a soft start overseas
Aamir Khan starrer Sitaare Zameen Par earned USD 800K (Rs. 6.75 crore) approx on its opening day overseas. While the numbers are on the lower side, they are still better than what early pre-sales had indicated a couple of days ago. Breaking down its performance, the collections were muted all across the board. The Middle East was the top market with an estimated USD 300K first-day. This isn't a bad start for the genre, also being better than Laal Singh Chaddha, while in most other markets it's lower. The United States ended up with less than USD 200K first day, while the United Kingdom barely crossed GBP 50K. The film also has a limited showing on release, with several key locations for Hindi films having very few shows, but they recorded healthy occupancies. This may have been a deliberate choice by the distributors, following a similar release strategy as seen in the domestic market. In the coming days, if the film should have improvement in that regard, it will need to be seen if the collections jump accordingly as well. The film will be aiming for a weekend of USD 2.50 million or so, which is something films starring A-listers are supposed to do on their first day, but then no one was expecting that from Sitaare Zameen Par, in the context of the film having a low initial value and how the genre has struggled in general post-COVID. That said, what matters more is where the film ends up and not where it opened. On that front, there are some encouraging signs, with the initial word of mouth appearing to be positive. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani had a soft start two years back, opening to just USD 4 million weekend. It also had showcasing issues at release, which got better in time, and the film legged to over USD 20 million final. Sitare Zameen Par will be hoping for a similar trajectory and gross over the USD 10 million mark, which will be a good outcome for this film.
