Jordan air force confirms delivery of first F-16 block 70 fighter jets
Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF), Brig. Gen. Mohammad Fathi Al-Hiyasat, confirmed that Jordan received two F-16 Block 70 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin, with 12 more expected to arrive at a later date, adding that the RJAF will be equipped with a total of 16.
In remarks to Roya's 'Helwa Ya Donya', Hiyasat stated that existing aircraft are also being upgraded with advanced navigation systems.
In February 2024, the Air Force received two UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, as part of a plan to acquire eight by 2026–2027.
In December 2023, a new simulated flight training squadron was inaugurated at the Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base, under royal patronage, to enhance pilot performance, Hiyasat continued.
And to improve aerial transport, the RJAF acquired three C-130 aircraft equipped with Roll-On/Roll-Off (RORO) capability, with three more expected from the United States next year.
It also received six "Little Bird" helicopters, with six others undergoing upgrades to support ground forces.
Additionally, four 'Cessna C-208EX Grand Caravan' reconnaissance aircraft were introduced last year, boosting aerial surveillance capabilities.
Hiyasat said that the Air Force has integrated unmanned aerial systems capable of flying 24-hour missions along border areas, transmitting real-time images to command centers.
A new UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) system was acquired to manage drone operations within Jordanian airspace.
Air defense systems have also been enhanced with electronic jamming capabilities and 30mm anti-drone cannons.
The RJAF added two new Air Tractor aircraft for firefighting operations, capable of deploying quickly anywhere in Jordan or to Mediterranean nations in need.
Hiyasat highlighted significant advancements made under King Abdullah II's leadership, particularly in RJAF's operational readiness, training standards, and integration of modern defense technologies.
He said that the Air Force is a cornerstone of national defense and benefits from close oversight by the King, the Crown Prince, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to ensure the highest level of professionalism.
Humanitarian and Relief Missions
The RJAF continues to play a vital humanitarian role, providing aid to Syria and Turkey after the earthquakes, assisting Lebanon following the Beirut Port explosion, and supporting Libya after devastating floods.
The Air Force has also evacuated Jordanians, including patients and the injured, from crisis zones worldwide.
Gaza support
In response to royal directives, RJAF has conducted 126 air missions into Gaza, delivering food and medical aid across the enclave.
Sixteen GPS-guided aircraft have conducted precise airdrops to support Jordan's field hospitals in Gaza, while 53 cargo flights have delivered aid to Egypt's Al-Arish Airport for onward transport into Gaza.

US military aircraft no longer visible at Al Udeid base in Qatar: satellite images
US military aircraft have been pulled from the tarmac of the biggest US base in the Middle East – Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar – according to satellite images published by Planet Labs PBC. This includes transport planes such as the Hercules C-130 and reconnaissance aircraft, in what possibly seems to be a move to shield them from possible Iranian strikes in the case the US strikes the Islamic Republic. The images showed several aircraft parked on the tarmac on June 5; which can no longer be seen as of June 19. Al Udeid base in Qatar would be vulnerable to Iranian strikes in the case of escalation, given its close proximity to Iran.

Damage and Fires in Israel as Iran Challenges Trump with 'Fattah' Missiles - Jordan News
Damage and Fires in Israel as Iran Challenges Trump with 'Fattah' Missiles Late Tuesday night, several Iranian ballistic missiles struck Israeli territory, causing fires and damage to buildings, according to Hebrew media reports. Israeli air defenses reportedly failed to intercept some of the missiles, which were part of two successive barrages launched within an hour — totaling around 30 missiles. اضافة اعلان The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility and confirmed that it used its 'Fattah' hypersonic ballistic missiles for the first time, describing the strike as a message of defiance to former U.S. President Donald Trump, who it accused of inciting war. Multiple Barrages and Widespread Alarm At 00:35 local time (GMT+3), the Israeli military issued a statement: 'Sirens were activated in several regions across the country following the detection of missile launches from Iran toward Israeli territory. The Air Force is currently conducting interceptions and offensive operations wherever threats are identified.' According to Yedioth Ahronoth, air raid sirens sounded across Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, marking the eighth Iranian missile barrage since early Tuesday. Loud explosions were also heard over Jerusalem, reportedly the result of successful interceptions. Channel 12 News estimated that Iran launched at least 20 missiles in this specific barrage. The Israeli Army Radio acknowledged that some missiles did hit Israeli territory, although it did not disclose precise locations. Early reports from Israel Hayom indicated that at least two missiles landed in Jerusalem and the Sharon region near Tel Aviv. Channel 12 also reported property damage in central Israel, missile debris striking buildings in the north, and wildfires igniting in open areas. Tenth Missile Barrage: More Fires and Destruction At 01:28, air raid sirens blared again in central Israel — including Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Rishon LeZion, and Netanya — in response to a ninth barrage from Iran consisting of at least 10 additional missiles. Firefighters responded to a large blaze affecting 20 vehicles in central Israel, sparked by falling missile debris. Israel continues to withhold specific details about targeted military or strategic sites, citing national security concerns and the desire not to aid enemy intelligence. Iran's Hypersonic Message: The 'Fattah' Missile The IRGC stated that this latest attack was part of 'Operation Honest Promise 3,' and that it marked the first operational use of the 'Fattah' hypersonic ballistic missile, sending what it called a clear message of power to Tel Aviv's ally — Donald Trump. 'The powerful and highly maneuverable Fattah missiles tonight shook the shelters of the Zionist cowards after piercing through their defensive shield,' the IRGC declared. 'Tonight's missile strike proved that we have full control over the airspace of the occupied territories, and that its residents are defenseless against Iranian missiles.' According to military website Army Technology, the Fattah missile is among the most advanced in Iran's arsenal. It reportedly flies at speeds between Mach 13 and Mach 15, has a range of about 1,400 km, and features advanced guidance systems that allow it to alter course mid-flight and perform high-precision maneuvers inside and outside the atmosphere. Escalating Conflict with High Casualties Since early last Friday, Israel — with U.S. backing — has carried out strikes on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, and top military and nuclear personnel. These attacks have reportedly resulted in 224 deaths and 1,277 injuries in Iran. In retaliation, Tehran has launched ballistic missiles and drone attacks, killing around 24 people and wounding hundreds in Israel. Tensions are escalating rapidly, with Western and Israeli sources warning of possible U.S. military involvement. Meanwhile, Trump has called on Iran to surrender unconditionally and even threatened potential strikes on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The situation remains volatile, with the possibility of a regional war drawing closer as both sides intensify their military actions.

Iran Claims It Shot Down Israeli F-35 Fighter Jet - Jordan News
Iran Claims It Shot Down Israeli F-35 Fighter Jet On Wednesday, Iranian authorities announced that their military successfully shot down an Israeli F-35 fighter jet south of the capital, Tehran. The report was confirmed by Hossein Abbasi, the governor of Varamin County, in a statement to IRNA, Iran's official news agency. Abbasi stated that the fighter jet crashed and was destroyed in the Varamin region. He added that security units have launched an investigation, but no details were given regarding the fate of the aircraft's pilot. Three Israeli Warplanes Downed Since June 13 According to Iranian sources, this marks the third Israeli warplane shot down since June 13, the date when Israel launched a wide-scale attack on Iranian territory. Backed by the United States, Israel began a series of coordinated strikes last Friday, targeting: Nuclear facilities, Missile bases, And high-ranking Iranian military and nuclear scientists. These attacks have reportedly resulted in 224 deaths and 1,277 injuries, according to Iranian figures. In retaliation, Iran has been launching ballistic missiles and drones, which by Tuesday had killed at least 24 people in Israel and injured hundreds, also causing significant material damage, according to the Israeli Government Press Office. This latest development — involving one of the world's most advanced stealth jets — is likely to further escalate tensions and fuel speculation about the capabilities of Iranian air defenses. The F-35, developed by Lockheed Martin, is known for its stealth, advanced radar systems, and multi-role combat abilities, and any verified loss of such an aircraft would be considered a major event militarily and politically. No immediate confirmation or comment has been issued by Israeli defense forces regarding the incident. اضافة اعلان
