Internet puzzled at Ranveer Allahbadia discussing India-Pak conflict on Piers Morgan's show: ‘What are his credentials?'
YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia was invited by British journalist Piers Morgan at a robust debate along with Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar and Shehzad Ghias Shaikh from The Pakistan Experience, to discuss ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the internet could not fathom Ranveer's presence at the show questioning his credentials to talk about geo politics.

Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as Beer Biceps, addressed the India-Pakistan conflict on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he showed images of Osama bin Laden and Hafiz Abdul Rauf to highlight differing narratives and emphasise India's non-aggressive stance in the region.
Calling India's attacks as 'precision-oriented, moderated, and a retaliation', Beer Biceps said India has never been 'an aggressor in any of these situations." "We export vaccines, philosophy, engineers and leaders to the world – which is why our economy is eleven times the economy of Pakistan," he added.
He then questioned Piers Morgan back and asked what he felt about the situation. 'India has a list of people just like this man,' he said, again picking up Laden's photo.
Piers also questioned Ranveer about a now-deleted social media post of his in which Ranveer referred to Pakistanis as "brothers and sisters" following the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.
Replying to the allegations, Ranveer said, 'I deleted it because Pakistan had just broken the ceasefire and gave us another reason to not trust the entire state once again. Even if you try to have a conversation with Pakistan, it responds with 'where's the proof of the Pahalgam attack?''
While some fans appreciated Ranveer's immaculate presentation, others were quick to question his qualification to be speaking about India-Pakistan politics on social media. One user commented, 'Who invited him to that show? What are his credentials for speaking on geopolitical issues? How much was paid for that seat on the table?'. Another user said, 'Beer biceps for a discussion like this is just diabolical.'
One user wrote, 'When a YouTuber is enough to take on Ex Foreign Minister and a career politician. lol.' Another user commented, 'Out of all in India you had beer biceps to rep India….fml'. Another user pointed out, 'Bringing in BeerBiceps as some kind of a representative for India was a new low for Piers Morgan which is saying something. He has no qualification to be speaking about geopolitics and there is no good reason for having him on."
In February, Ranveer found himself entangled in a controversy after appearing in an episode of comedian Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, which also featured Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani. On the show, Ranveer asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?" The remark received intense backlash, followed by multiple FIRs against the makers and those present on the show. In an apology video on X, Ranveer admitted that his comment was not only inappropriate but also not funny. He also submitted a written apology to the NCW over his offensive remarks made on the show.

Wait continues for Kol professor now stuck in Mashhad
Kolkata: Kolkata's Geography professor Falguni Dey, who has been stuck in Iran amid no signs of de-escalation in the hostilities, is now waiting at Mashhad, tense and desperate to leave the war-wrecked country. On Monday morning, Dey went to the hotel where help desks were opened by the Indian Embassy. "There was a long queue of those who wanted to board the flights heading to India. Most of them were from Kashmir. Some of them tried to push their way through the priority list of the passengers. But the Indian Embassy officials, working round the clock, handled them diplomatically. I can understand that people have started getting restless to get back home now," Dey said. Dey was scheduled to board a flight back home on June 15, but he got stranded after Israel launched a missile attack on Iran on June 14. Since then, Dey had been on the run to escape the ravages of missiles and drones from Israel. In the past 10 days, he travelled 2,500 km across Iran. He was denied permission to cross the border through Azerbaijan and Armenia. "I heard that a lot of people, who were stranded in different parts of Iran, have started to reach Mashhad. There are five or six hotels where the Indian Embassy has made arrangements for them. But I am feeling tired now. I am going to run out of the regular medicines that I take," he said over the phone. On Sunday night, Barrackpore resident Dipak Adhikary and his wife, Soma Adhikary, who were stuck in a village near Shiraz in the Fars province, reached Mashhad. "I spoke to them on Monday morning and they are safe now," said Adhikari's friend Naresh Senapati. A group of 11 pilgrims from three families in Dhalipara under Chaurashi gram panchayat in Deganga also reached Mashhad from Qom on Sunday night. The group left for Iraq and Iran on May 30.

Bengal students stuck in Israel reach Jordan, wait for flight to Del
Kolkata: The first batch of Bengal students stranded in Israel is scheduled to board a flight from Amman, Jordan, after the Indian govt started the evacuation operation. More than 20 students from Bengal crossed the Israel-Jordan border amid heavy security and threats of missile strikes. On Monday, five buses — two from Haifa and three from Tel Aviv, carrying Indian students stuck in Israel — left for Jordan. Amaresh Das, a resident of East Midnapore and a post-doctoral research scholar with the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, got onto the bus from Haifa early in the morning. The entire 60km stretch from Haifa to Jordan was calm on Monday. But it suddenly changed when the bus was crossing the Jordan River. "A total of five buses carrying Indian students were travelling together. The bus from Tel Aviv was behind us. The embassy officials were trying to send the buses to the Jordan side as soon as possible. Suddenly, there was an extreme alert of sirens. We got down from the bus at the nearest shelter and got inside that," recounted Das. When they reached the border, there was a huge crowd waiting to cross. The document checking and visa processing had to be hurried. "We were nearly 150 people in five buses, and everyone was tense. We knew we had to rush to Amman now," Das said. On Sunday, some of the students missed the flight from Amman, and the officials also wanted to ensure that nobody missed a flight. "We don't know when we will reach New Delhi. The details are not shared with us as yet. We will have to make our own arrangements from Delhi to reach Kolkata," Das said. "We heard that the first flight from Jordan carrying Indian students under the evacuation operation left Amman in the afternoon. But we are yet to get any news of the second flight departing. Meanwhile, there were fresh missile attacks in central Israel," said Sayantan Maiti. Barrackpore resident Maiti, who is pursuing research in surface chemistry of diamonds at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, is scheduled to be evacuated on Tuesday. "I am yet to get a call or confirmation from the Indian embassy in Israel. I think it might get delayed by a day now," he said.
