The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party's former secretary-general, Floyd Shivambu, was recently demoted to being a member of Parliament by leaders of the party following his trip to Malawi to visit wanted fugitive Pastor Shepherd Bushiri.
The party announced Shivambu would be redeployed to Parliament; however, this has yet to materialise despite the window for changes to parliamentary lists opening on 1 June.

Since the announcement of his departure, Shivambu has accused the EFF of being a 'cult' and called Jacob Zuma 'gullible'.
At a press briefing in Gauteng on Thursday (19 June), Shivambu made allegations about what's going wrong in the MKP, which Madia says are 'quite serious'.
Shivambu claims corruption and drug abuse are common among leaders of the party.
Madia believes Shivambu should be held accountable for witnessing these alleged crimes and being silent about them until now.

National Press Club to dedicate award to slain journalist

KWAMHLANGA - The National Press Club will dedicate an award to slain journalist Aserie Ndlovu. It's to honour his memory and his contribution to community media. Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, went missing in February, and their decomposed bodies were discovered in a veld in Limpopo in May. Ndlovu has been laid to rest at his home in Kwamhlanga in Mpumalanga. Saturday would have been his 39th birthday. The motive behind the kidnapping and murder of Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli remains unclear, leaving their families searching for answers. A close family friend is among the five people who've been arrested in connection with the murders.
