What split rumours? Baz Luhrmann and wife Catherine put on VERY amorous display as they lock lips at wild Met Gala after party - following speculation about their 'separate lives'

Daily Mail06-05-2025

Baz Luhrmann was having an absolute ball in the small hours of Monday night.
After attending the 2025 Met Gala with his wife Catherine Martin in New York the Australian director let loose at a wild after party.
The 62-year-old and his wife of 28 years headed to Monsieur's with Bombay Sapphire in Manhattan where he was clearly enjoying himself.
Baz and Catherine locked lips for a sweet smooch as well as cuddling up as they mingled with the A-list crowd.
The award-winning filmmaker played barman, serving drinks to other guests and embracing several attendees in a spirited display.
The star also wielded a camera and got to work snapping photographs of the glitzy event before joining Catherine for a boogie on the dance floor.
It was his second party of the night as Baz also stopped by Stella McCartney and Charlotte Tilbury's glamorous Met Gala 2025 afterparty at Zero Bond in New York.
Earlier in the day, Baz channelled German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld as he arrived in a striped suit jacket, a white vest and matching coloured pants as he walked the red carpet at the Met Gala.
He completed his eccentric look with a colourful tie, round glasses and wore a pair of black dress shoes.
Baz was joined by his wife Catherine, who looked glamorous in a long black and navy gown which featured sheer sleeves.
She accessorised with a large green and white necklace, patterned shoes and large framed blue glasses.
The couple, who've been married for almost three decades, proved their relationship is stronger than ever as they put on a loved-up display on the red carpet.
It was recently reported that Baz and Catherine appear to be living separate lives.
Baz was spotted at Taylor Swift 's Sydney concert in February last year in the singer's star-studded box alongside her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce, Katy Perry and fellow filmmaker Taika Waititi and his wife Rita Ora.
The Romeo + Juliet director was seen dancing like no one was watching, his wife notably missing despite the fact they were living on Gold Coast at the time, a short one hour and 20 minute flight from Sydney.
The couple moved into 'a shack' in the Miami beach area, downsizing from a larger home they were residing in after they relocated to the glitter strip in 2020 to make their sixth film Elvis.
In an interview with The Australian's Wish magazine, Martin spoke about doing long distance with her husband.
The Academy Award-winning Costume Designer said the pair speak regularly on the phone when he is in New York and she stays at their seaside Gold Coast shack.
Martin said she was enjoying the 'work/life balance' on the Gold Coast, where she goes for daily long morning walks on the beach and classes at her local Pilates studio.
'I called Baz this morning, I was walking on the way to Pilates and he was marvelling at the weather, because he's in New York,' she said in the interview at the time.
Meanwhile, Baz was forced to put split rumours to rest after fans noted eerie similarities with Aussie actor Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness' failed marriage.
The director confirmed the pair were still very much in love.
Baz and Martin have been married for 28 years and just saw their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move out of home.

BREAKING NEWS Woman, 32, arrested over fatal hit-and-run of Netflix star Sara Burack in Hamptons

A 32-year-old Virginia woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a popular Netflix actress, authorities said. Amanda Kempton was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in connection to the hit-and-run death of Million Dollar Beach House star Sara Burack, according to the Southampton Town Police Department. Burack, 40, a real estate agent and former reality television personality was struck by a vehicle shortly before 3:00 am on Montauk Highway near Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, New York. Emergency responders found her critically injured at the scene, and she later died at Stony Brook University Hospital due to severe trauma, including head injuries and multiple fractures. The vehicle involved fled the scene, prompting a large-scale search by local and state authorities. Following an extensive manhunt led by the Southampton Town Police Department and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, Kempton was taken into custody. She has been charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, a Class D felony under New York State law. If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison. Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed details about how Kempton was identified as a suspect. Kempton is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday as the investigation remains active, according to the New York Post. Public officials have urged anyone with additional information about the incident to contact Southampton Town Police, as the full circumstances surrounding the event are still under investigation, local outlet, Dan's Papers reported. Sara Burack was a licensed real estate broker with experience in the luxury real estate market. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she gained national visibility as a cast member on the Netflix series Million Dollar Beach House. Burack was also active in charitable work, including fundraising for leukemia research and animal rescue initiatives. Her sudden death has elicited an outpouring of grief from friends, former colleagues, and members of the entertainment and real estate communities. 'I want people to remember she was an amazing person who really cared for people,' close family friend and fellow realtor Paulette Corsair told Newsday. 'She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family.'

Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori shocks again as she pulls dangerous move behind wheel of Porsche

Kanye West 's wife Bianca Censori has pulled yet another eye-catching stunt certain to leave the public in a state of astonishment. Ever since they secretly tied the knot in 2022, Bianca has consistently shocked fans with the flesh-flashing ensembles her husband styles for her. Now, however, her conduct behind the wheel of her gleaming Porsche convertible may be the cause of further comment from observers. Bianca, 30, was spotted staring open-mouthed at her phone while she was driving the jet-black vehicle through Beverly Hills this week. She appeared to be flouting the California Wireless Communications Device Law, which prohibits using a handheld cellphone while operating a motor vehicle. Bianca's sighting comes after Kanye experienced his own bout of car trouble, as a photographer snapped images of the rapper's custom Maybach being towed away from the Château Marmont on Tuesday. New images obtained by Daily Mail show the luxury car owned by the 48-year-old Runaway rapper being put on the back of a tow truck and hauled away from the hotel. The venue – where Saturday Night Live legend John Belushi tragically overdosed in 1982 - remains a favorite haunt of Hollywood celebrities, but parking remains limited. The Bully artist was spotted with partner Bianca Censori earlier Tuesday in Los Angeles, after traveling to New York City earlier this month to attend the trial of Sean ' Diddy ' Combs, who he has professed support for publicly on multiple occasions. Daily Mail has reached out to West's rep Milo Yiannopoulos and the tow company listed on the side of the truck for further comment on the item involving the vehicle. West has remained in the crosshairs of controversy for much of the year amid a torrent of tweets propagating antisemitism, though he renounced those beliefs in a tweet last month. 'I am done with antisemitism,' he said in a May 22 tweet that garnered 167,000 likes from the influential artist's network of more than 33.2 million followers. The stance came in stark contrast to Ye's controversial one four months earlier: He posted multiple images swastikas, and plastering them on a number of clothing items he intended to sell. On February 11, the shop on West's Yeezy Website - which he advertised with an expensive ad in the Super Bowl - was taken offline by Shopify after he was selling a white shirt with a black swastika in the center. West spoke more about the controversy in a series of tweets February 20 - promising to wear the swastika shirt onstage at the 2026 Super Bowl. 'Next year I'm performing at the superbowl wearing my wittle T shirt,' he said. 'People with money bought my wittle t shirt.' He added that Shopify 'gave [him his] account back' after taking down his store after controversy erupted over the shirts, but that he was 'not going to use it.' The Anti-Defamation League said in a post on X/Twitter February 10: 'As if we needed further proof of Kanye's antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website – a t-shirt emblazoned with a swastika. 'If that wasn't enough, the t-shirt is labeled on Kanye's website as "HH-01,"which is code for "Heil Hitler." 'Kanye was tweeting vile antisemitism nonstop since last week. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior.' The organization added, 'Even worse, Kanye advertised his website during the Super Bowl, amplifying it beyond his already massive social media audience.' Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor, the founder and executive director of CyberWell, an online anti-Semitism watchdog group, told February 11 that the organization made efforts to go over West's head and have the page removed. 'CyberWell reached out Shopify's compliance and safety teams to alert them to flagrant abuse of Shopfiy's services by in violation of the terms of use,' Cohen Montemayor said. Podcaster Van Lathan, who famously clashed with West in a heated discussion in the TMZ newsroom in May of 2018, was critical of the rapper's latest series of tweets in a post on the platform February 20, calling him 'the slow kid in the Black community's class.' 'I'm glad you're rich,' Lathan wrote. 'It seems to be the only thing you care about. Money is dope you can do a lot of stuff with it. Sincerely. We need it, as a community. 'One thing that's more valuable than money is people. I'm sure you'd agree no dollar amount can measure North's laugh, I'm sure you'd go broke to bring your mother back. I would for my dad, who I lost in '21.' Lathan told West he was 'trapped in an infant's bubble, where [he] can be reckless and careless and people excuse it because of affection. 'We realize this, and try to ignore you, until the baby picks up something sharp like Nazism, domestic abuse, etc. then we gotta child proof things until you stop crying.' Lathan, who cohosts the podcast Higher Learning with Rachel Lindsay, continued, 'You're right about one thing, I am a slave to capitalism. We all are. Gotta work. 'But No one is more of a slave than the man who puts money over dignity. No one. So I'll be a slave, and you be what you are, which is the slow kid in the Black community's class. Keep eating boogers Kanye.'

Swimmers' annual nude plunge into chilly Tasmanian river marks the winter solstice – and Dark Mofo's revival

Swimmers have stripped off and raced into chilly waters on the shortest day of the year. Wearing nothing but red swim caps, 3,000 courageous souls took the annual nude sunrise plunge into Hobart's River Derwent to mark the winter solstice. The air temperature was about 10C as the naked pack took to the water at 7.40am on Saturday, sparking shrieks and yells of anguish. Liz Cannard, who has been travelling around Tasmania for nearly four months with her husband, said she was petrified before taking the dip. 'I'm not a strong swimmer and I don't take my gear off for anybody ... so I've ticked off a couple of things today,' the Geelong resident said. Lizzy Nash from Sydney was also in the mood for a bit of carpe diem. 'It's about seizing the moment, seizing life and being inspired,' she said. 'This is the sort of thing that motivates you to want to do more and challenge yourself. It was awe-inspiring and I absolutely loved it.' The free swim is part of the Dark Mofo festival and started with just a few hundred participants in 2013. Melburnian Belinda Chambers said she had been watching people do it on television for years and decided to work remotely from Tasmania for the festival so she could stay and leave on a high. 'So exhilarating,' she said. 'I was nervous, but there was this almost primal moment of everyone being together that carries you along, and a sense of pure happiness.' The festival's artistic director, Chris Twite, said the swim was a tremendous way to bring things to a close. 'The response in 2025 has been incredible,' he said. 'The streets of Hobart have come alive with locals and visitors celebrating winter and Dark Mofo again.' More than 103,000 tickets were sold to Dark Mofo events in 2025, generating $4.6m. The festival has made a name for itself by courting controversy and in 2018 drew the ire of some by installing inverted Christian crosses along Hobart's waterfront.
