Barrett insists the champions are back to what they do best after their win over St Pat's on Monday
Shels returned to their roots on Monday when they ground out a 1-0 win over Barrett's old club
Given they are 12 points behind leaders
But Barrett was chuffed to see the Reds get back to their traditional values and called on his team-mates to back it up against

'We were very tidy on the ball and kept it nicely. We had to show a different side in the second half and I think it's a side that we are built on.
'It's a side that I personally love, where we're putting our bodies on the line.
'That side of football is not a pretty side but it's a beautiful side. We won the league on that nasty side last year.
'Not the nasty side but as in the ugly side of football where people are diving around, blocking balls, defending and one-on-one defending. I thought it was excellent.

'We haven't had that side to us, that dirty side, in recent weeks and months. I keep saying the dirty side but it's a beautiful side. I love it.
'I feel like we lost that. We went away from that side and just to show that side again . . . I think that was the most pleasing thing. We have that doggedness about us and have each other's backs.'
Club World Cup clash SUSPENDED as fans and commentators told to leave stands and 'get inside'
Barrett's return to action — he came on at half-time in the last game before the break and started the first after the resumption — may have helped in that regard.
The centre-half was out since the March international break.

And while Shels had divulged few details about the extent of his injury, he revealed he was back ahead of schedule.
Barrett said: 'It was in an 11-v-11 in training. I was just passing the ball and I felt something.
'At the time I knew it was bad but obviously after scans and seeing specialists then they kind of gave me the bad news.
'I tore my quad, I tore my rectus femoris. I was out for 16 weeks.

'I had to see specialists and it just wasn't healing for me.
'But, in the end, with the physio and the fitness coach, I got back in maybe ten-and-a-half or 11 weeks.
'It is a credit to them and a credit to myself.'
But Barrett admitted that he initially struggled to accept the consultant's prognosis.

He added: 'I'm just stubborn and was telling him he's wrong.
'Look, results and scans, results and X-rays and all this. They're the ones with the knowledge.
'I'm telling them I'm itching and trying to get back on the pitch way earlier than I should have.
'It was frustrating. I'm arguing with them and they're arguing with me.

'But in the end we made a mutual agreement. I came back at the right time.'
Barrett is now determined to show Monday's game was not a one-off at Tolka Park this evening.
He said: 'When we pick up a good result, we haven't backed it up.
'We probably haven't given the fans that full performance at home for a while now.

'Hopefully we can back it up and put a run together.'
But he is not fretting about retaining a league title, which he said meant more to him than the two he won with Dundalk earlier in his career.
He said: 'Shamrock Rovers are in flying form and 12 points ahead of us.
'But I don't think we can look too deep into it as we'll beat ourselves up if we do.'

How record Florian Wirtz transfer could spark £400m Liverpool overhaul as Arne Slot plots Feyenoord-style transformation

Slot, 46, paid tribute to predecessor Jurgen Klopp when he lifted a record-equalling 20th league title in front of an adoring Kop back in May. But the former Slot saved his money and waited while winning the hearts and minds of a doubting red half of Merseyside — as well as players, who were unsure of what would come next. And changes were made as he got his feet under the table, although none of them suggested how seismic they would become. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister went to double-bass, the pair redeployed from attacking roles to holding midfielders. Over the last two years he attempted a Bundesliga-high of 313 take-ons. And just Barcelona's Advertisement Wirtz created 124 chances from open play in that period, a figure bettered only by Salah (150), Arsenal skipper These mighty statistics suggest the playmaker ranked first in the Bundesliga for through balls (49) and completed lay-off passes (123) last season will be a sensation under Slot as he continues his makeover.

Duffy's moment of magic earns Derry victory over Shels
SSE Airtricity Premier Division: Shelbourne 0 Derry City 1 A piece of Michael Duffy magic undid Shelbourne at Tolka Park as Derry City won for the first time in five outings to Dublin this season. Winger Duffy's glorious second half finish was no more than Tiernan Lynch's side deserved as they avenged their opening night defeat to the champions in Drumcondra. Shelbourne can have few complaints as Derry leapfrog them up to fourth place in the table having controlled the pattern of the game for an hour, Damien Duff's Reds only really came alive after they had fallen behind. In stiflingly warm conditions, with the temperature registering 24 degrees at kick-off, Shelbourne began brightly as they initially took the game to their visitors. But it was Derry who were first to threaten, and on the double at that. The first chance on eight minutes stemmed from sloppy Shels play as JJ Lunney's pass was easily intercepted by Duffy. That set up Liam Boyce whose attempted chip over Conor Kearns had just too much on it. A minute later Shels were stretched at the back as Gavin Whyte put Boyce in behind down the right. Kearns did enough to narrow the angle with the striker's dink bobbling wide across goal. Shels responded with a promising opening of their own from the game's first corner on 11 minutes. Harry Wood's delivery was on the money for Sean Boyd who rose above everyone to plant his firm header inches over Brian Maher's crossbar. Passing the ball well, with Sadou Diallo and Carl Winchester influential in the middle of the park, Derry began to control the game as Shels were struggling to get on the ball. Despite their possession, though, Derry weren't really hurting Shelbourne who seemed content to sit off and play on the counter. A break for Kearns needing attention allowed Duff the opportunity to give his players a talking to on the sideline. And the reset almost brought a reward on 36 minutes as Shels carved Derry open for the only time in a frustrating first half for the home side. Wood's cross was met by a Boyd header with Maher making a fine save in touching the ball out for a goal kick off the lurking John Martin. Duff withdrew Martin and Kerr McInroy at half-time with Mipo Odubeko and Ellis Chapman introduced in the hope of enlivening his side. It was more of the same, though, as Derry promptly regained the initiative with Kearns forced into a parry save from a Whyte drive after Shels gave the ball away cheaply. A sliding doors moment then almost brought a Shelbourne goal at one end before Derry struck for a deserved lead at the other on 54 minutes. First Evan Caffrey saw his chip headed away by Sam Todd with Maher stranded after colliding with Boyd. Derry immediately broke with Winchester's sweeping pass finding Duffy on the right. A clever step-over wronged footed Kameron Ledwidge to allow Duffy get the ball onto his left foot and find the far top corner with a sublime curling shot for his seventh goal of the season. Though Shelbourne owned much of the ball for the remainder of the game, Maher scarcely had a save to make as Derry had done more than enough to take home the points. SHELBOURNE: Kearns; Bone, Barrett, Ledwidge; Caffrey, Lunney, McInroy (Chapman, h-t), Norris (Coote, 63); Wood (O'Sullivan, 77), Martin (Odubeko, h-t), Boyd (Kelly, 63). DERRY CITY: Maher; Cann, Connolly, Holt; R. Boyce, Diallo (McMullan, 62), Winchester (Hoban, 89), Todd; White (Benson, 62), Duffy; L. Boyce (Mullen, 62). Referee: Neil Doyle (Dublin).
