A 34-year-old man in Milwaukee, US, has been found guilty of killing and dismembering a 19-year-old college student on their first date.
According to the New York Post, Maxwell Anderson killed Sade Carleena Robinson in April 2024 after the two met for dinner.
The woman's remains were discovered in multiple locations along the Lake Michigan shoreline, days after she failed to show up for work.
According to prosecutors, the two had gone out for dinner and drinks before heading back to the man's apartment. When the woman didn't return home or report to her job the next day, she was reported missing.
Hours later, a severed leg—later identified through DNA testing—was found on the lakefront.
Investigators soon discovered a disturbing trail of evidence, including dismembered body parts scattered across the area, surveillance footage placing the woman at the suspect's home, and photos on the man's phone depicting parts of her body.
Inside the man's basement, authorities uncovered what they described as a 'sex dungeon," complete with a sling, restraints, and other paraphernalia.
Prosecutors also noted that on the night of the killing, the pair had watched an episode of Love, Death & Robots—one centred on a dismembered body washing ashore, eerily mirroring the events that followed.
The jury deliberated for just 45 minutes before finding the man guilty of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse, and arson.
Prosecutors said he had planned the killing weeks in advance, preparing his home with plastic sheeting and tools.
'Sade will continue to walk with me daily and right beside me," the victim's mother, Sheena Scarbrough, said after the verdict. 'She will forever be remembered as an angel."
The man is scheduled to be sentenced on August 15. He faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Sharing details, senior superintendent of police (Amritsar rural) Maninder Singh said: 'Preliminary investigation reveals the accused were in direct contact with a Pakistan-based smuggler through WhatsApp, indicating a strong cross-border nexus.' He said the special cell was on routine checking near the Barsati drain bridge at Brar village when two youngsters on a motorcycle came from the village side. On spotting the police, they panicked and tried to flee. 'Acting swiftly, the special cell team managed to apprehend them. On questioning, they revealed their names as Lovepreet Singh alias Love and Balwinder Singh alias Bobby. On searching them, police recovered 6.15kg of heroin, one PX5 pistol (30 bore), four live cartridges (30 bore), ₹ 10,000 drug money and a mobile phone,' he added. A case under the NDPS Act and Arms Act has been registered at the Lopoke police station. The SSP said that interrogation of the arrested accused is underway. Police are investigating both forward and backward links of the accused to uncover the supply chain routes. Additionally, properties acquired through illegal drug money by the accused are also being verified.
