The opening comes as part of Landmark's 'Tomorrow's Central' redevelopment, a US$1 billion transformation that will see over 100 food and beverage venues introduced across the four-building complex, including nine with outdoor terraces. Mandarin Oriental already operates 16 venues within Central and Landmark, and its partnership with Boulud is aimed at further engaging Landmark's top-tier clientele, including members of its Bespoke loyalty programme.
Construction is now underway, with more details on the team and launch plans expected later this year. For Hong Kong, Terrace Boulud represents a thoughtful entry by one of the world's most established chefs, bringing not just name recognition but a proven, adaptable approach to modern French dining, rooted in tradition, responsive to place and built to last.

Hyundai names robotics, AI expert Laura Major as CEO of Motional

Hyundai Motor Group said Friday it has appointed Laura Major as new CEO of Motional, its Boston-based autonomous driving joint venture with Aptiv, to advance the future mobility business. Underscoring Major's previous position as chief technology officer of Motional, the automaker highlighted her new role in accelerating the company's artificial intelligence technology capabilities ahead of the commercial launch of its autonomous driving service next year. Since Motional's establishment in 2020, Major has served as CTO and has been acting as the interim CEO since September. Major previously led the team in charge of developing the Ioniq 5 robotaxi, one of the world's first driverless autonomous vehicles to receive US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards certification. She has also been instrumental in creating a machine learning-driven autonomous driving software stack. Before joining Motional, Laura Major worked at Draper Laboratory, a US-based nonprofit research and development organization, and drone specialist Aria Insights, drone manufacturer in the US, focusing on developing autonomous and AI solutions for astronauts and national security. She is also the co-author of the book 'What to Expect When You're Expecting Robots: The Future of Human-Robot Collaboration,' which explores the future of human and robot's coexistence. Oil prices jump more than 5pct after Israel strikes Iran

WASHINGTON: Oil prices jumped more than 5 per cent on Friday to hit the highest in more than two months after Israel said it struck Iran, raising concerns of escalating tensions in the Middle East that could disrupt oil supplies. Brent crude futures rose US$3.91, or 5.64 per cent, to US$73.27 a barrel by 0146 GMT, the highest since April 3. US West Texas Intermediate crude was up US$4.09, or 6.01 per cent, at US$72.13 a barrel. Israel said early on Friday that it struck Iran, and Iranian media said explosions were heard in Tehran as tensions mounted over US efforts to win Iran's agreement to halt production of material for an atomic bomb. "The Israeli attack on Iran has heightened the risk premium further," MST Marquee senior energy analyst Saul Kavonic said. "The conflict would need to escalate to the point of Iranian retaliation on oil infrastructure in the region before oil supply is actually materially impacted," he said, adding that Iran could hinder up to 20 million barrels per day of oil supply via attacks on infrastructure or limiting passage through the Strait of Hormuz in an extreme scenario.
