Claressa Shields to return on 26 July against Lani Daniels

Claressa Shields returns to the ring on 26 July in Detroit in a card to be broadcast on DAZN.
Shields made the announcement on her Instagram page, saying that she will be fighting Lani Daniels for the female version of the heavyweight championship. The fight will take place at the 22,000-seat Little Caesars Arena in the city's Midtown district.
In a note accompanying the Instagram post, Shields wrote: 'I'm excited for this one!!!! Summer fights are always the best!!!!! Whoop that trick will be in full affect!'
She went on to say that tickets will be released on Friday. The fight is scheduled to be for the IBF, WBC, WBF, and WBO heavyweight titles.
Shields, 16-0 (3), will take on the New Zealand fighter Daniels, 11-2 (1), in a ten-round fight with two-minute rounds. Undisputed heavyweight champion Daniels comes into the bout on a seven-fight winning streak but has been defeated twice on points, once unanimously and once by split decision, by Geovana Peres. Both of those fights took place in Auckland.
The undefeated Shields will be making the second defence of her titles after wins in July and February over Vaness Lepage-Joanisse and Danielle Perkins. Since turning professional in 2016, Shields has won world titles from light-middleweight to heavyweight.
Daniels, for her part, also posted yesterday about the fight.
She wrote on her official Facebook page: '8th May 2003, my brother Tukaha lost his fight to Leukaemia. Fast forward 21 years 11 months and 18 days today. It has been announced I will be fighting the Greatest Woman of all time [in] Claressa Shields. Our stars have aligned. Not bad for a Māori girl from Pipiwai who only started back boxing a few years back to lose some weight and fit her fight shorts again.'
She added: 'Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey.'

Disgraced granddaughter of late Saints owner arrested for altercation with South Carolina cop

The granddaughter of late New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson was arrested Monday and accused of interfering with a Charleston, South Carolina police officer as he attempted to put a parking boot on her vehicle. Rita LeBlanc, 48, was released on a personal recognizance bond the following day after being charged with hindering an officer/city employee, according to online jail records. reported that Sargent Christ Stinson accused LeBlanc of taking the locking tool from a parking boot as he attempted to fasten it to one of the wheels of her car. LeBlanc, a former vice chairperson for the Saints, is due back in court on July 24. A child of Benson's adopted daughter, Renee, Rita was fired by her grandfather from the team in 2015 before being disinherited altogether along with her mother and brother, Ryan. She would respond with a lawsuit, challenging Benson's mental competency at the time of his decision. The two sides settled in 2016. Previously, in 2012, Jeff Duncan reported she was suspended from the team because of 'lack of focus and abrasive management style.' Aflac says that it has identified suspicious activity on its network in the U.S. that may impact Social Security numbers and other personal information, calling the incident part of a cybercrime campaign against the insurance industry. The company said Friday that the intrusion was stopped within hours. 'We continue to serve our customers as we respond to this incident and can underwrite policies, review claims, and otherwise service our customers as usual,' Aflac said in a statement. The company said that it's in the early stages of a review of the incident, and so far is unable to determine the total number of affected individuals. Aflac Inc. said potentially impacted files contain claims information, health information, Social Security numbers, and other personal information, related to customers, beneficiaries, employees, agents, and other individuals in its U.S. business. The Columbus, Georgia, company said that it will offer free credit monitoring and identity theft protection and Medical Shield for 24 months to anyone that calls its call center. Cyberattacks against companies have been rampant for years, but a string of attacks on retail companies have raised awareness of the issue because the breaches can impact customers. United Natural Foods, a wholesale distributor that supplies Whole Foods and other grocers, said earlier this month that a breach of its systems was disrupting its ability to fulfill orders — leaving many stores without certain items. In the U.K., consumers could not order from the website of Marks & Spencer for more than six weeks — and found fewer in-store options after hackers targeted the British clothing, home goods and food retailer. A cyberattack on Co-op, a U.K. grocery chain, also led to empty shelves in some stores. A security breach detected by Victoria's Secret last month led the popular lingerie seller to shut down its U.S. shopping site for nearly four days, as well as to halt some in-store services. Victoria's Secret later disclosed that its corporate systems also were affected, too, causing the company to delay the release of its first quarter earnings. The North Face said that it discovered a 'small-scale credential stuffing attack' on its website in April. The company reported that no credit card data was compromised and said the incident, which impacted 1,500 consumers, was 'quickly contained.' Adidas disclosed last month that an 'unauthorized external party' obtained some data, which was mostly contact information, through a third-party customer service provider.
