With the news that Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley will return for the 2026 season after Athletic Director Trev Alberts made his final decision on Friday, it was assumed that staff changes were afoot, knowing that last season's issues were much more than poor play by the roster. However, while some thought hitting coach Caleb Longley would be the first to go, Earley has made a somewhat surprising change to start the new regime.
On Saturday, it was revealed that infield coach Will Fox will not be retained. Fox has been with the program for the past six seasons and is considered one of the up-and-coming coaches with a bright future. According to D1Baseball's Kendall Rogers, Fox could join McNeese as the program's newest assistant.
Before serving as an assistant coach, Fox spent the previous three seasons as the director of video and analytics and his first two years in College Station as director of player personnel and video coordinator. Texas A&M's infield defense was average at best last season, leading to several game-changing errors in key games down the stretch.
While this is minor compared to the team's consistency issues at the plate, this is likely just the first change Earley will make on the staff heading into the summer.

This year's games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on June 24 and run through July. The games will take place at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET. On Sunday, the Spartans were hosting a 7-on-7 tournament, where various teams from within the state, and around the country, made their way to East Lansing looking to show themselves off to the MSU coaching staff. One local prospect, a Detroit native that plays for Martin Luther King High School, earned an offer through his performance on Sunday. Don Spillers was the recipient of the offer. A 6-foot-2, 195 pound wide receiver, he has not been ranked by 247Sports as a member of the 2027 recruiting class. Spillers owns additional notable offers from Maryland and Michigan. Deion Sanders seen fishing with Travis Hunter in encouraging health update
Travis Hunter visited Coach Prime in Texas ❤️ Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been dealing with an unspecified health issue, but is on the mend, according to his eldest son Deion Jr. Deion Jr. posted a video to his YouTube account Saturday that showed Sanders fishing at his estate in Texas with former Colorado football star Travis Hunter. "It's a beautiful thing," Deion Sanders Jr. says in the video. "Coach Prime back active, moving around. God is great. Not back active moving around, but it's progress." The Colorado head coach has been away from the program since April and did not attend the university's annual youth football camps earlier this month. Sanders' return to Boulder is still uncertain, but he appears closer to resuming his full-time duties soon with the latest update. He is scheduled to attend the Big 12 Conference Media Days on July 9 in Frisco, Texas. The video is encouraging, as was a recent visit by Sanders' former Dallas Cowboys teammate, Michael Irvin. The two Hall of Famers were seen laughing at Sanders' Texas estate with Irvin joking about throwing a party when Sanders returns to Boulder. While the health issue does not seem to be too serious, Sanders admitted in late May that he lost 14 pounds. As Colorado awaits Sanders' return, the Buffaloes continue gearing up for the season, with Georgia Tech set to visit Boulder for the Aug. 29 opener.
