The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced the completion of all phases of the Al Shindagha Corridor Development Project on the Bur Dubai side. This infrastructure initiative aims to enhance traffic flow between Al Garhoud Bridge and Infinity Bridge. A significant milestone was achieved with the opening of the fifth and final bridge at the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mina Street.
The Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project is a comprehensive development covering 13 kilometers along key routes such as Sheikh Rashid Road, Al Mina Street, Al Khaleej Street, and Cairo Street. The project involves the construction of multiple bridges and the development of 15 intersections, aiming to serve approximately one million residents. Dubai Deploys AI Robots to Inspect Metro Tracks & Reduce Manual Labour
The ARIIS robot uses LiDAR and 3D cameras to cut inspection labour by 75% and improve accuracy by 40%. Jun 16, 2025 Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced an artificial intelligence-powered robot, ARIIS, to inspect tracks across the Dubai Metro network. The autonomous system is designed to conduct real-time monitoring of rail infrastructure without interrupting metro operations, significantly reducing the need for manual labour. Equipped with LiDAR sensors, high-resolution lasers, and 3D cameras, ARIIS collects data on track alignment, surface degradation, and structural vibrations. The robot processes this data on the move, enabling faster and more frequent inspection cycles while allowing maintenance teams to identify and resolve issues before they lead to operational disruptions. Since its deployment, ARIIS has reduced inspection-related labour hours from 2,400 to 700—a 75% decrease—according to the RTA. It has also improved diagnostic accuracy by 40%, contributing to smoother and more reliable metro services. The initiative forms part of RTA's wider efforts to integrate smart technology into Dubai's transport systems. The Dubai Metro, which has been operated by Keolis MHI since its launch in 2009, remains one of the longest fully automated metro networks in the world. The introduction of ARIIS comes as the city prepares to expand the system further through the upcoming Blue Line extension.

AED 332 Million Project to Link Jumeirah Street & Al Khail Road
The project is part of the Umm Suqeim-Al Qudra plan to reduce congestion by creating uninterrupted routes in the area. Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated a major infrastructure project focused on improving connectivity between Jumeirah Street and Al Khail Road. Valued at AED 322 million, the development includes the construction of tunnels and bridges along Umm Suqeim Street, specifically from the Jumeirah Street intersection to Al Khail Road. This project is a key part of the broader Umm Suqeim-Al Qudra corridor master plan aimed at streamlining traffic flow and reducing congestion in the Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim districts. The planned tunnels and bridges will provide direct connections, enabling vehicles to move smoothly between key arterial roads without traffic lights or intersections slowing them down. This upgrade is expected to significantly decrease travel times, ease daily traffic pressures, and support the ongoing urban development of the area.
