‘Bleach' And Star Wars Join Forces To Celebrate 'Andor' Season 2 Finale
The Force is strong with Bleach : Thousand-Year Blood War , as the anime series has unveiled a surprise project featuring the world-famous Star Wars franchise. In celebration of the finale of Andor Season 2, both properties came together to roll out two mirrored collaboration visuals, with Bleach 's Uryu Ishida and Cassian Andor in the same position.
The crossover visual was shared on X/Twitter, accompanied by descriptions referencing the shared themes of rebellion and hope. From Ichigo standing alone like a Stormtrooper in the other poster to the strategic parallel of Ywach's The Almighty power to the Death Star, the impressive attention to detail makes it quite a near-identical replica — and a cool way to honour the legacy of two beloved epics.
Season 2 of Andor officially ended on 14 May, becoming the highest-rated Star Wars entry on Rotten Tomatoes during its run. Similarly, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 found critical acclaim among fans, with only one episode scoring below 9 on IMDb. Part 4 – The Calamity will close out Ichigo's journey, although no release date was announced.
According to creator Tite Kubo, the upcoming final season will include even more original content not covered in the manga. There are around 25 chapters left to adapt, including a highly anticipated adult-form appearance by a certain captain (if you know, you know), with Pierrot Films, the new arm of Pierrot's second studio, returning to helm the animation.

'Ghost of Yōtei' Developer Striving For Authentic Depiction Of Hokkaido And Ainu Culture
Ahead of Sucker Punch Productions' highly-anticipated RPG sequel Ghost of Yōtei's launch in October this year, co-creative director Nate Fox has shared insights into the team's research trips to Japan, emphasising the respect paid to portraying the time period in-game as authentically as possible. This comes from the latest entry in a series of PlayStation blog posts, where Fox described their trips to Japan to learn more about Hokkaido, the setting of the game, and more specifically, the Ainu culture, an indigenous group primarily inhabiting the area. The Sucker Punch team at Matsuamae Castle, Hokkaido 'When setting a game in Hokkaido, we knew a crucial element was doing our best to represent Ainu culture in a respectful way.' Fox wrote, 'Thankfully, we'd connected with an Ainu cultural adviser before setting out on our reference gathering trip [and] travelled up a nearby mountain and got to know each other while foraging for vegetables.' 'That night we resolved to put foraging into our new game, we wanted players to be able to share the experience we were lucky enough to have experienced.' According to Fox, the team also spent some time in the Oshima Peninsula, which was the domain of the Matsuamae clan in the 1600s, noting that even today, the Wajin people, the main ethic group in Japan, seldom live as far North as Hokkaido. 'We've tried to mimic that quality in the game, leaning into areas of wilderness between homesteads,' he added. The team also visited the Nibutani Ainu Museum, which helped them 'get a sense for sorts of objects [seen] in the game and how they were used,' alongside learning about Edo-period Japan by visiting places in Honshu such as Nikko Toshogu Shrine, to which they received a blessing for the game from the enshrined deity, Tokugawa Ieyasu. Despite the game being a few months from release, it's already clear how much respect the Sucker Punch team has paid to portraying the games setting as accurately as possible, a move that will surely serve to enrich Ghost of Yōtei's world when the game launches on 2 October 2025 for the PS5. ‘Wind Breaker' Live-Action Film Adaptation Ignites Fighting Spirit In Dec
The fighting spirit that runs in the veins of Furin High School will continue into the silver screen, as a live-action film adaptation of Wind Breaker has been announced. Following the broadcast of the anime's second season finale, a new X/Twitter account opened to share a first-look teaser of the upcoming feature. Kentaro Hagiwara ( Blue Period , Tokyo Ghoul ) directs the project, with Yosuke Masaike ( Anime Supremacy! ) and Yoshitaka Kamo serving as scriptwriter and producer, respectively. Not much else is known, including cast details and story specifics, but it is set to be released in Japanese theatres this December. An accompanying visual was also revealed, as seen below: Based on Satoru Nii's delinquent action manga, Wind Breaker follows Haruka Sakura, who prides himself on being a skilled fighter while growing up as an outcast due to his unconventional appearance and lack of social skills, and his goal to become the best. The anime debut ran from April to June 2024, followed by a second season from April to June 2025. CloverWorks, whose credits include The Promised Neverland , Bocchi the Rock! , and Spy x Family , helmed both seasons, featuring series composition by Hiroshi Seko ( Chainsaw Man ), character designs by Taishi Kawakami, and music by Ryo Takahashi ( SK8 the Infinity ). 'Welcome to Furin High School, an institution infamous for its population of brawny brutes who solve every conflict with a show of strength. Some of the students even formed a group, Bofurin, which protects the town. Haruka Sakura, a first-year student who moved in from out of town, is only interested in one thing: fighting his way to the top,' reads the full synopsis for the series. The Wind Breaker live-action movie hits Japanese cinemas sometime in December. Si Jia is a casual geek at heart – or as casual as someone with Sephiroth's theme on her Spotify playlist can get. Hideo Kojima's 'Death Stranding' Animated Film Lands Writer For An Original Story
Announced late last month, Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding animated film adaptation is steadily gaining momentum, with Raised by Wolves writer Aaron Guzikowski signing on to craft its screenplay, which will feature an original story separate from the events of the games. Unlike the franchise's other game-to-screen adaptation, the live-action A24 movie, which is expected to follow the events of game protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, the animated film will journey into unfamiliar territory for fans of Death Stranding , telling a completely original story while still set in the same post-apocalyptic world. Death Stranding (2019) Although specific plot details are still being kept under wraps, the film will be in a similar vein to adult-targeted, animated genre films like the recently released Predator: Killer of Killers Disney+ anthology film. The onboarding of Guzikowski, whose other film credits include the 2013 drama Prisoners and the 2014 TV series The Red Road , was announced by Hideo Kojima's Tokyo and L.A.-based Kojima Productions and L.A.-based animation company Line Mileage. Death Stranding (2019) 'I love the world of Death Stranding , it's so creatively freeing, so beautifully dark and yet hopeful; I'm so excited and honored that Hideo Kojima, whose work I've long admired, has invited me to dwell within his creation, to birth new stories into this fertile, mind-bending universe,' said Guzikowski in a statement, 'Drawing and animation have always been near and dear to my heart, so to finally get to play in this space is a dream come true.' 'As an avid gamer, I can say, unequivocally, Death Stranding is the most cinematic, thought-provoking video game I have ever played,' added Line Mileage CCO Daniel Dominguez, 'Playing it gave me the same emotional rush, visceral punch, and intellectual pleasure I had the first time I watched Blade Runner , or Ghost in the Shell . Adapting it into a form it so naturally evokes is an honour.' Kevin is a reformed PC Master Race gamer with a penchant for franchise 'duds' like Darksiders III and Dead Space 3 .
