A Florida-based dachshund has gained viral attention on Instagram for his over-the-top response to a simple word: "No."
In a lighthearted video shared to the platform on May 4 under @moo_in_miami, the small dog named Moo was captured sitting on a couch, repeatedly whining and growling in a high-pitched, almost comical, tone after being told "no" by his unseen owner.
The video, captioned "he really said, 'that's cute, try again,'" quickly ignited reactions online from pet owners who could relate to the bout of canine pushback, and has since been liked more than 1 million times.
An overlaid text on the video read: "POV: [Point of view] You told your dachshund no."
The dog's animated expressions and indignant vocalizations have struck a chord with viewers on Instagram, many of whom said they were left in hysterics by Moo's dramatic protest.
Moo's particular reaction also highlights something deeper—and familiar—for anyone who has spent time with a dachshund: stubbornness seems to be part of the lovable breed's DNA.
Bred in Germany centuries ago to hunt badgers, dachshunds were designed to be persistent and fearless. Their long bodies and short legs made them ideal for burrowing, but their real strength lies in their temperament.
Dachshunds are notoriously determined and vocal, often pushing boundaries and asserting their will in surprisingly bold ways for their size. Moo's hilarious response to being told off is a textbook example of this temperament.
While some dog breeds are known for obedience or calm demeanor, dachshunds have cultivated a reputation for being assertive, sometimes to the point of comedy. Owners often describe them as possessing the mindset of a much larger animal, unafraid to stand their ground—especially when they feel slighted.
Commenters have shared their own dachshund tales, with one writing:
"Dachshunds and the word NO do not compute."
"I'm getting dachshund in 8 weeks can't wait," another viewer said, while another added: "Dachshunds will argue with you with such stubbornness until you give in because there's nothing is as stubborn in this world as a dachshund who wants something."
"They run the house you know," another said.

Taylor Swift surprises patients at Florida children's hospital after Travis Kelce date night
Taylor Swift stopped by Florida's Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital to surprise patients on Friday following her high-profile date night with Travis Kelce. In a video clip shared to TikTok, the 'Cruel Summer' singer wore a summer-ready sage green Loewe midi dress and chic brown Louis Vuitton sandals while greeting hospital personnel and posing for photos in the lobby. Swift, 35, smiled as the stunned workers applauded and made heart signs. 'Here's who I met while I was in the hospital with my son,' the TikTok user captioned the clip. Meanwhile, on Instagram, pediatric surgeon Jill Whitehouse shared a pic with the pop superstar and thanked her for her visit. 'Chief of Surgery meets Chief of the World!' Whitehouse captioned the photo. 'Undeniably one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Thank you #taylorswift for making dreams come true for all of our patients, families, and staff today!' Instagram user Prince Durocher also shared heartwarming pics of his daughter's 'special visit' from the 'Blank Space' songstress during her hospital stay. The grateful parent thanked Swift for taking 'the time out of her busy schedule just to give a personable experience which changed it from something terrifying to a memorable memory that she gets to talk about forever.' In one photo, Swift laughed while visiting with the young patient, and in another, she sat on the hospital bed and posed with her. She also posed with the family and signed an autograph for the patient. In a clip, the singer entered the room and made a beeline to the patient to shake her hand, and inauspiciously introduced herself as 'Taylor.' She also shook hands with other family members, gushing, 'You guys are a gorgeous family. My God, you guys are beautiful!' Mom Ashley Rodriguez also took to the platform to gush over the visit with a photo of her daughter and singer. 'What a much needed surprise for my baby girl,' she wrote via Instagram Stories on Friday, along with a pink heart emoji. Also on Instagram, Daniela Romay shared a pair of photos with her hospital-bound child — including one with Swift. While Romay noted that 'medicine changes' her son's mood and he 'was not happy' during Swift's visit, she expressed gratitude for the chance to meet her. 'Thank you so much to @Jdchospital and @taylorswift for bringing love and 'smiles,' to the kids and families,' she quipped in text written over the pic. 'We need this little breaks [sic]. It means a lot.' Swift's surprise visit to the Florida facility comes a day after she was spotted on a fun date night with Travis Kelce. They attended game four of the Stanley Cup final on Thursday at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla. Kelce is currently in the Sunshine State, where he has rented a luxurious retreat, for offseason training ahead of his 13th NFL season. A source told People on Thursday that Swift is looking forward to the upcoming football season. 'Her schedule is much more open now that the Eras Tour is wrapped, and she's genuinely excited to have the time and flexibility to show up for Travis more consistently,' the insider divulged to the outlet.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are a winning pair on date night at Game 4 of Stanley Cup Final
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce looked like quite the power couple as they were spotted on a date night at Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. The pair was seen holding hands as they arrived at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla., on Thursday night to watch the Edmonton Oilers take on the Florida Panthers for the coveted trophy. The pop star, 35, looked stylish in an Area Crystal Trim Track Jacket ($995) paired with the matching Crystal Trim Track Shorts ($595). She completed the look with the Prada's Buffalo Neoprene Lace Up Chelsea Ankle Boots, which are currently sold out. Meanwhile Kelce, 35, sported a red long-sleeved top and matching shorts. He finished off his look with a pair of red-and-white sneakers and a baseball cap. Once seated, the lovebirds looked cozy as they were shown on the TV broadcast footage chatting while Kelce showed the 'Cruel Summer' singer something on his phone. Swift sipped on a drink with a straw. At one point, the A-list couple stood up to cheer on the game. They beamed while applauding alongside other spectators. Swift and Kelce have been spending time together in Florida while the tight end rents a $20 million mansion in the Sunshine State to prepare for the forthcoming 2025-26 NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs star reportedly snagged the Boca Raton property in April, bringing along his personal chef and his luxurious car collection. Last month, he went viral when he was seen shirtless shortly after wrapping up an intense workout. Swift and Kelce were first spotted in Florida together on a date night at Harry's in West Palm Beach on May 23. At the time, eyewitnesses caught them getting cozy in a booth. They were also photographed holding hands after dining at Buccan restaurant earlier this month.

Prince Harry and Meghan's Biggest U.S. Scandals
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were frequent targets of the British press as working royals, but it was only after several years in the United States that they began to face controversy across the pond as well. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have experienced successes since moving to California, but have also faced their fair share of crises. Meghan's mock curtsy, Harry's frostbite, and allegations of staff mistreatment have been just some of the moments fans of the couple might prefer to forget. Meghan's Curtsy to Queen Elizabeth II The duchess used the couple's December 2022 Netflix show, Harry & Meghan, to describe her first-ever curtsy to Queen Elizabeth, but it provoked a backlash for allegedly disrespecting British culture. Meghan re-created the curtsy she said she performed, bowing at the waist and spreading her arms wide in either direction. "I mean, Americans would understand this," she said. "We have Medieval Times Dinner & was like that." She had previously described the meeting to Oprah Winfrey in 2021 without mentioning any issues with her curtsy, and Harry went on to say it was "flawless" in his memoir, Spare. Many came away feeling the mock curtsy had disrespected a long-standing British tradition, and the fact that the queen had died three months earlier no doubt did not help. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada, on February 9, 2025. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada, on February 9, 2025. Samir Hussein/WireImage Prince Harry Mocked Over Frostbite Harry's book, Spare, was released a month later and led to ridicule after he described in detail applying his mother's favorite Elizabeth Arden lip cream to his frost-bitten private parts. "My penis was oscillating between extremely sensitive and borderline traumatized," he wrote. "The last place I wanted to be was Frostnipistan. "I'd been trying some home remedies, including one recommended by a friend. She'd urged me to apply Elizabeth Arden cream. My mum used that on her lips. 'You want me to put that on my todger?' "'It works, Harry. Trust me.' I found a tube, and the minute I opened it, the smell transported me through time. I felt as if my mother was right there in the room. "Then I took a smidge and applied there. 'Weird' doesn't really do the feeling justice." Suffice it to say, the passage attracted the attention of quite a few late-night U.S. comedy shows. 'F****** Grifters' and the Collapse of Spotify Just months later, the Sussexes' Spotify deal collapsed, and just as their team was reassuring journalists the two had parted ways by mutual consent, up popped an executive at the streaming giant to derail the PR strategy. Bill Simmons used his own podcast to fire a parting shot at the couple: "I wish I had been involved in the Meghan and Harry leave Spotify negotiation. 'The F****** Grifters,' that's the podcast we should have launched with them. "I gotta get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry, trying to help him with a podcast idea. It's one of my best stories." Meghan a 'Dictator in High Heels' Meghan had long been fending off allegations that she bullied staff at Kensington Palace as a working royal. The scandal migrated to America in September 2024 with an article from The Hollywood Reporter headlined: "Why Hollywood Keeps Quitting on Harry and Meghan." The article quoted a source who said the couple's U.S. staff were terrified of Meghan and that the royal belittled people. Another source said Meghan marched around "like a dictator in high heels," and has reduced grown men to tears. Meghan's team launched a PR counterattack in the pages of Us Weekly, where several past and present staffers praised her. She has consistently denied the allegations of bullying. Prince Harry's ESPY Award In 2024, Prince Harry was awarded the ESPY's Pat Tillman Award for Service, sparking a major backlash from sports fans. At its peak, Mary Tillman, Pat's mother, told The Mail on Sunday: "I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award. There are recipients that are far more fitting." 'South Park' and the 'Worldwide Privacy Tour' Harry's memoir sparked a collapse in the couple's U.S. approval rating, and in the same way that a picture can tell a thousand words, an episode of South Park ridiculing the duke and duchess appeared to tell the story of a shift in American perceptions. The episode, titled "The Worldwide Privacy Tour," depicted the "Prince and Princess of Canada" campaigning for their privacy in the aftermath of the death of the "Queen of Canada." In one scene, the couple appears on a fictional Canadian morning show, holding "We Want Privacy" placards. The anchor asks the prince: "Let me start with you, sir. You lived a life with the royal family, you had everything handed to you but you say your life has been hard and now you've written all about it in your new book: Waaagh." The princess said: "I was totally like, 'You should write a book 'cause your family's, like, stupid and then so are, like, journalists." The interviewer says, "So you hate journalists? And now you wrote a book that reports on the lives of the royal family? So, you're a journalist." Jack Royston is chief royal correspondent for Newsweek, based in London.
