When 17-year-old Mrinal Kishore Jha saw his NEET UG 2025 result, it was a long-awaited moment of joy. 'All my family members were overexcited and overwhelmed,' said Mrinal, who secured All India Rank 4 with a percentile of 99.9998189—placing him amongst the top five in a pool of nearly two million aspirants.Originally from Bettiah in Bihar's West Champaran district, Mrinal now lives in Delhi. A government officer's son, frequent transfers were a part of his childhood. 'We moved to Delhi four years ago,' said his father, Manoj Jha. 'Since then, Mrinal has stayed focused on his goal.'advertisementA DAY MAPPED AT DISCIPLINEFor the past two years, Mrinal has followed a structured and disciplined routine. Living in a PG in Lajpat Nagar to stay close to his coaching centre, he travelled daily to Indraprastha Public School in Rohini to meet the mandatory attendance. 'I didn't care about time; I cared about completing my daily target. I practiced 500–600 MCQs every day,' he said.
Board marks took a backseat as NEET remained his top priority—reflected in his 89.6% in Class 12 and 87.4% in Class 11. 'I began preparing in Class 9, but it was the last two years that were most crucial,' he said.CHALLENGES, STRATEGY AND SUPPORT SYSTEMPhysics was the toughest subject for Mrinal, but with guidance from his teachers, he overcame his weaknesses. 'Mock tests and revisions helped me identify my weak areas and clear doubts,' he said. For Mrinal, coaching and self-study were equally important. 'Coaching helped build concepts, and self-study gave me confidence.'advertisementSurprisingly, he never struggled with self-doubt or burnout. 'My friends were supportive, and group discussions helped clear doubts,' he said. Family played a huge role too. 'My father always told me to aim for AIIMS Delhi, and my mother constantly motivated me.'Mrinal's mantra is clear: 'Consistent efforts without distractions are the key. Have faith in yourself and in God.' His story proves that success isn't about last-minute cramming—but about discipline, balance, and belief.

Ansar Shaikh became the youngest IAS officer in India when he cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam at the age of just 21, securing an All India Rank of 361. His journey from a humble background to becoming an inspiration for millions is nothing short of incredible. Humble beginnings in Maharashtra Ansar comes from a small village called Shelgaon in the Jalna district of Maharashtra's Marathwada region. His father drives an autorickshaw, and his mother worked as a farm labourer. Life was not easy for his family, but they always supported his education. Even though they had very little money, his family made sacrifices to help him study. His brother left school in Class 7 and started working in a garage to earn money, while his sister was married off at the young age of 15. A bright student with big dreams Despite all these problems, Ansar never gave up on his education. He scored 91 per cent in his 12th standard and later graduated in Political Science from Fergusson College, Pune, with 73 per cent. After college, he decided to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Exam, which is one of the toughest exams in India. The exam selects officers for top posts like IAS, IPS, IFS, and others. It has three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview, and tests everything from general knowledge to decision-making skills. Cracking UPSC in first attempt In 2016, at just 21 years old, Ansar cleared the UPSC exam in his first attempt. He chose Political Science as his optional subject and appeared for the mains and interview in Marathi, his mother tongue. His hard work paid off, and he secured the 361st rank across India. After clearing the tough UPSC Civil Services Exam, he was posted as the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, as of 2022. Ansar's journey has become a source of hope and motivation for students from all corners of India. Model schools give wings to dreams of TN government school students
THENI: The state government established residential schools across Tamil Nadu in 2022 to prepare students for competitive exams including NEET, JEE and CLAT. A bunch of students from the first batch of the model school in Theni have secured admission in engineering and law courses in central government educational institutions. According to sources, the school gave coaching to 102 students, of which 40 each appeared for NEET and JEE respectively, and 22 sat for CLAT. Of these, seven scored between 200 and 300 marks in NEET. The rest of the students just managed pass mark. R Naveenkumar, the school topper, secured 464 out of 720 marks. Among the 40 who appeared for JEE, three have got admission in IIT- Bhubaneshwar. Four students bagged admission in Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI). After clearing CLAT, three students have got admission in Dr Ambedkar Law University while another students got admission in Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam. Speaking to TNIE, the HM of Theni model school C Mutharasppan said unlike the other schools which admitted Class XI and XII students, his school took in students who were in Class IX. " The teachers made students revise the lessons thoroughly several times and it has produced good results. Naveenkumar, who topped the school in NEET, will not get the 7.5% quota reserved for government school students as had studied in an aided school", he said.
