Warm weather continues for North Texas with storm chances on the way
Thursday morning started out pleasant, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 70s. Clouds will continue to increase throughout the day, and temperatures top out near 90 degrees.
An isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out, but there is only a 10% chance.
On Friday, for Bike To Work Day, cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70s will greet anyone out before sunrise. But it will be a hotter afternoon, with temperatures rising to the lower 90s.
An isolated storm is also possible late Friday afternoon into the evening hours, mainly east of I-35.
The First Alert Weather Team has declared a First Alert Weather Day for Saturday due to the threat of severe storms in the afternoon.
The storms would develop along a dryline to the west and then head east through North Texas. Large hail and damaging winds would be the main threats.
The unsettled and hot weather pattern continues into the start of next week; Sunday and Monday both have the potential for severe storms.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Stormy at times for Father's Day weekend
This weekend, the First Alert Weather Team is tracking rain and storms in the afternoon. Saturday morning, temperatures will be warm in the mid to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. We return to the 90s once again Saturday, before showers and thunderstorms begin to develop by midday. Storm coverage will be greatest between Highway 301 and I-95 to the beaches Saturday afternoon and evening. Storm hazards will be very heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds. Slow storm motion could lead to areas of minor flooding. A similar pattern continues into Father's Day with mainly afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms focused over the eastern half of our area. Heat builds into next week with daily highs rising into the mid-90s and feels like temperatures approaching 105°F. Heavy rain continues to fall across North Texas on Thursday
Heavy rain continues to fall across North Texas Thursday morning, prompting another First Alert Weather Day. The heaviest rain is falling east of I-35 in areas that have already picked up nearly 6" of rain in the last 24 hours. Ponding on roads will be a risk for some during the Thursday morning commute. CBS News Texas In Dallas-Fort Worth, the ground is still saturated from the multiple rounds of rain this week. Showers will linger in DFW through midday but widespread coverage is in eastern counties. CBS News Texas A flood watch remains in effect for parts of North Texas, including Denton, Grayson, Collin, Parker, Tarrant and Dallas counties, through this evening. In Palo Pinto County, the Santo Volunteer Fire Department reported up to 4' of water on roads late Wednesday night. Fog could be a concern Friday morning from the heavy rainfall. By Father's Day, skies will be partly cloudy with winds coming from the southwest around 5 to 10 mph. Conditions will likely stay dry, but an isolated storm will remain possible.
