Hearts have melted as a new mom showed the bond between her dog and her baby daughter, which began forming before she was born.
S Ingelson, 32, from Los Angeles, California, is the proud owner of Siberian Husky, Theo, who has amassed a fair following on social media as viewers fall in love with the dog's quirks—and bond with his human siblings.
"My daughter is now five months old and they're total besties," Ingelson told Newsweek. "He lays by her side most of the day while his other little human, [her] 3-year-old brother, is at school. Theo has helped us raise both of them!"
She recalled when their son was born, and watching his and Theo's "bond grow so strong"—and it was the same when she was expecting her daughter, as Theo began to form a friendship with her before she was even born.
"Theo would start howling so much more," she said. "My husband even thought he'd howl more when I was around, and we kept saying he was talking to his little sister."
A video showing how Theo acted when Ingelson was pregnant has gone viral since being posted to Ingelson's TikTok account, @thathuskytheo, on May 21.
It began by showing Theo "before pregnancy," clips of the Husky relaxing, staring quietly out the window, and being "always calm and quiet"—and then went on to show what Theo was like when she was expecting her daughter.
All of a sudden, Theo was becoming far more vocal, howling happily while on walks, while looking out the window, and while relaxing in the garden.

Ingelson wrote that she and her husband "realized he wanted his little human to know his voice."
And, nine months later, the two got to meet in person, as the video showed the moment Ingelson's husband walked into their home carrying their newborn. And, after giving a "welome home" howl, the dog walked right up the the baby girl and watched her in her carseat.
The sweet video ends with Theo and the baby now, often sitting side by side as Theo continues his howls.
Ingelson wrote in the caption: "She's known him since he was in the womb."
Huskies are known to be very vocal dogs, using a wide range of noises to communicate. As a pack animal closely aligned with their wolf ancestor, the breed would use these noises to communicate with the rest of the pack and with humans, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC).

It's not just the vocalizing that Theo did during Ingelson's second pregnancy, she told Newsweek.
"He would also follow me around and watch me, almost like he was protecting me during pregnancy," she said.
"Now that his little sister is here, he gets to relive the days he had with his little brother—watching over her. It's been so heartwarming."
TikTok users loved the video, awarding it more than 25,000 likes and watching it 362,000 times, as one commenter joked: "Your child's first word will be aaauuuu."
"So sweet! He was making sure his new pack member knew his voice and that he's got their back," another said, as one agreed: "Wants you to know you're safe with him there."
And another parent shared that they're in the same boat, as they wrote: "Our Husky is my 5-month-old's best friend and protector."

TikTok's Owner Wanted to Publish Books. Not Anymore.
When 8th Note Press launched in the summer of 2023, the small publisher had a big advantage over other new presses. It was started by the Chinese technology company ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, the wildly popular social media platform where viral endorsements can transform books into best sellers overnight. That was not enough, it seems, to build a successful publishing business. In late May, 8th Note Press began informing writers that it was shutting down and returning publication rights to the authors. News of the press's demise, which was reported earlier by the The Bookseller, came as a shock to authors who were swayed by the possibility that 8th Note could help engineer best sellers with elaborate marketing campaigns on TikTok. Instead, 8th Note has started taking down digital editions of their books, effectively unpublishing them. The literary agent Mark Gottlieb, who sold the debut novel 'To Have and Have More' to 8th Note, said the company was doing 'irreparable damage' to its authors by shutting down so haphazardly. While publishing imprints frequently come and go, the books and authors they publish are usually moved elsewhere within the parent company, rather than being taken out of circulation entirely. If a book is published then quickly disappears, it can be difficult to resell it to another publisher, Gottlieb said. 'They're wrecking careers in the process of doing this,' he said of 8th Note. 'If you're an author and this is your first book, what the history is going to show is that your book published and quickly went out of print.' 8th Note's precipitous fall was surprising, given its parent company's vast resources and reach. Just last year, the press seemed poised to expand. Last October, its executives announced a partnership with the publisher Zando to put out print editions of its books and distribute them to physical bookstores. The plan was to release 10 to 15 titles a year, with a focus on romance, romantasy and young adult fiction. Later, the imprint indicated to agents that it was expanding into science fiction and fantasy. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Owners Bring Home Saint Bernard, Poodle Mix—Shock at What She Grows Into
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. When bringing home a young, mixed-breed puppy, owners can only imagine what their canine will look like as an adult, which left one family with a bigger fur mess than they expected. A family didn't know what to imagine when welcoming home a Saint Bernard and poodle mix, also known as a Saint Berdoodle. This hybrid is known to be a friendly and affectionate yet protective dog, according to an article from Dogster. These gentle giants make a great family dog, especially as they are hypoallergenic. Given the dog's lineage, the owners planned for a large dog breed, but a March 16 Instagram video posted to the account @yourfriendmarley showed how they underestimated her size. The text on the video reads "when two worlds collide," accompanied by images of the two dog breeds. The product was Marley, a giant fluff baby. About 93 pounds later, their dog was fully grown, and their home was filled with endless fur. Marley stood up with her front paws propping her on the kitchen counter. She stood as tall as the man in the background. Her entire body was covered with luscious, curly hair that looked like a cloud. Newsweek reached out to @yourfriendmarley via Instagram for additional information and comment. Screenshots of two popular dog breeds, a Saint Bernard, left, and a white poodle. Belova Veronika and RS-photography/Getty Images Like any dog, there's plenty of upkeep when it comes to a Saint Berdoodle. The owner wrote in the comment section that Marley receives six cups of food daily and a biscuit, "plus anything she sneaks." Their coats vary. Some might be medium and thick with curly hair, or long and wavy like a Saint Bernard's coat. But either way, daily grooming is essential to avoid any knots. Viewer Reactions The Instagram video amassed over 12.7 million views, 555,000 likes and 4,356 comments as of Friday. "He needs to start paying rent," joked a viewer, while a second wrote: "I thought it was AI." Another added: "That ain't no dog that's a horse." Someone else commented: "I'm a dog groomer and I think I'd die on the spot if that walked in." While many were stunned by the dog's mane, others expressed concern about breeding these two dogs together, claiming many hybrid mixes come from unethical breeders and are prone to health or behavioral issues.
