"We Have Imported Knife Violence" – Wave Of Attacks Shakes Germany Once Again

Another wave of knife attacks has hit Germany, showing that not much has changed despite the many lost lives and Germans maimed in knife attacks.
In fact, the statistics show that these crimes are even getting worse, with 79 knife attacks per day now recorded. A German criminal lawyer warns that Germany has 'imported knife violence,' in response to growing blade crimes.

The overwhelming number of perpetrators are foreigners or those with a foreign background, yet despite promises to crack down and enact deportations of migrant criminals, the bloodshed not only continues but appears to be getting worse.

'We have imported knife violence. In other cultures, the knife is a kind of status symbol. This is changing the social climate here in the country,' stated criminal attorney Udo Vetter. He further notes that 'knives have become an everyday companion for many people. And the barrier to using them is low.'
Notably, he warns that due to the rise of knives and knife crimes, it is creating a problem that is expected to only grow exponentially, with more and more people arming themselves with knives out of fear.
'Because if some people deliberately pack a knife as a murder weapon, more and more people will also resort to knives, supposedly to defend themselves,' stated Vetter. 'Young people in particular have knives in their pockets just like their cell phones.'
However, this problem has been warned about nearly every week, including from the German police themselves.
Manuel Ostermann, deputy head of the Federal Police Union, stated that 'the knife as a means of committing a crime always immediately poses a concrete threat to life and limb. Politicians must now take all possible measures to curb this phenomenon.' Ostermann is the same police union head who said that Germany's crime problem is actually an immigration problem during a viral speech last year.

The head of the German Police Union, Rainer Wendt, also spoke out about the knife crime problem, saying: 'The threshold for violence is getting lower and lower. And the fuse is getting shorter. Knives are being drawn even for trivial reasons and seemingly harmless disputes.'
As Remix News previously reported, violent crime reached a record high in Germany last year, with foreigners responsible for nearly half of crimes.
There were 29,014 cases in total involving a crime where a knife was used, of which, 15,741 were knife attacks. Serious and dangerous bodily harm with a knife increased by 10.8 percent in 2024 compared to 2023.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) is going on the offensive under the new Christian Democrat-led government, with security and immigration still top concerns. Alice Weidel, AfD party co-leader, mocked the new government's 'five-point plan' to fix the immigration crisis, saying that the border is not secured despite promises.

All it took for Syria to get back in the global dollar regime was for Al Qaeda to take over. Reuters reports that Syria completed its first international bank transaction through the SWIFT system since the onset of its 14-year civil war, its central bank governor said Thursday, marking a significant step in the country's efforts to reintegrate into the global financial system. Governor Abdelkader Husriyeh said a direct commercial transaction had been carried out from a Syrian to an Italian bank on Sunday, and that transactions with U.S. banks could begin within weeks. 'The door is now open to more such transactions,' he told Reuters in Damascus. Syrian banks were cut off from the world during the civil war after a crackdown by Bashar Assad on anti-government protests in 2011 led Western states to impose sanctions, including on Syria's central bank. After Assad was ousted in a lightning offensive led by 'reformed' Al Qaeda CIA-supported 'opposition forces' last year, Syria has taken steps to re-establish international ties, culminating in a May meeting between interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Donald Trump in Riyadh. The US then significantly eased its sanctions and some in Congress are pushing for them to be totally repealed. Meanwhile, Europe announced the end of its economic sanctions regime. Like every post-US intervention state, Syria now needs to make transfers with Western financial institutions – or what the Deep State calls 'laundering money' – in order to bring in huge sums for reconstruction and to kickstart a war-ravaged economy that has left nine out of 10 people poor, according to the United Nations. Husriyeh chaired a high-level virtual meeting on Wednesday, bringing together Syrian banks, several U.S. banks and U.S. officials, including Washington's Syria envoy Thomas Barrack. The aim of the meeting was to accelerate the reconnection of Syria's banking system to the global financial system and Husriyeh extended a formal invitation to U.S. banks to re-establish correspondent banking ties. 'We have two clear targets: have U.S. banks set up representative offices in Syria and have transactions resume between Syrian and American banks. I think the latter can happen in a matter of weeks,' Husriyeh told Reuters. Among the banks invited to Wednesday's conference were JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley and Citibank, though it was not immediately clear who attended.

Israeli military says killed Iran's Hamas coordinator

Israel's military said Saturday it had killed a top Iranian commander in charge of military coordination with Palestinian militant group Hamas in a strike on Qom, south of Tehran. Israeli "fighter jets struck and eliminated in the area of Qom the commander of the Palestine Corps of the Quds Force, and the key coordinator between the Iranian regime and the Hamas terrorist organisation, Saeed Izadi", the military said in a statement. The Quds Force is the foreign operations arm of Iran's powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Izadi, who is under US and British sanctions, was described by the Israeli military as "one of the main orchestrators of the October 7th massacre and one of the few people who knew about it in advance". Iran has repeatedly rejected accusations that it was involved in Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack that sparked the ongoing war in Gaza. Izadi "was responsible for military coordination between the senior commanders of the IRGC and the Iranian regime with key figures in the Hamas terrorist organisation," the Israeli military said. The Israeli military added that he had directed Hamas forces operating from Lebanon, and helped Hamas rebuild its armed wing in Gaza. A military official told reporters during a briefing Saturday that Israel had killed two other Iranian commanders overnight, Behnam Shahriyari and Aminpour Judaki. Shahriyari was the head of Unit 190 in Iran's Quds Force, whose goal was to "annihilate Israel", the official said. "What Izadi was for Hamas, Shahriyari was for Hezbollah," the official said on condition of anonymity, adding that he "was responsible for transferring funds to these terror organisations who aimed to destroy Israel". Judaki was in charge of the drone unit in the IRGC, said the official, adding that he was "responsible for hundreds of UAV attacks against Israel". Iran did not confirm the deaths of its three commanders, nor their role in its military organisation. Fighting between the two foes began last week when Israel launched a massive wave of strikes on Iran, arguing that Tehran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. The Israeli military campaign has combined targeted assassinations of key Iranian military personnel, destruction of Iran's air defences and repeated strikes on nuclear sites. The death toll in Israel from retaliatory Iranian missile strikes since June 13 is 25 people, according to authorities. Iran said on Sunday that Israeli strikes had killed at least 224 people, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians, but the toll has not been updated since.

Turkey says Israel leading Middle East to 'total disaster'

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Saturday accused Israel of leading the Middle East towards "total disaster" by attacking Iran on June 13. "Israel is now leading the region to the brink of total disaster by attacking Iran, our neighbour," he told a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul. "There is no Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Yemeni or Iranian problem but there is clearly an Israeli problem," Fidan said. He called for an end to the "unlimited aggression" against Iran. "We must prevent the situation from deteriorating into a spiral of violence that would further jeopardise regional and global security," he added. Speaking after Fidan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Western leaders of providing "unconditional support" to Israel. He said Turkey would not allow borders in the Middle East to be redrawn "in blood". "It is vital for us to show more solidarity to end Israel's banditry -- not only in Palestine but also in Syria, in Lebanon and in Iran," he told the OIC's 57 member countries. The OIC, founded in 1969, says its mission is to "safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony".
