Jude Bellingham reveals date has been set for summer surgery as Real Madrid star admits he is 'fed up' with injury
Jude Bellingham says he is looking forward to having shoulder surgery after the Club World Cup, admitting that he is 'fed up' of playing with a brace and that a date has been set for the procedure.
Last month, Real Madrid confirmed they had scheduled surgery for the 21-year-old when the tournament in the United States is over.
Bellingham has struggled with a persistent shoulder problem since 2023 and worn strapping on his shoulder when playing for his club and England.
'I'm fed up with the brace,' said Bellingham, after scoring in Madrid's 3-1 win against Pachuca in Charlotte and earning the Player of the Match award in the process.
'Hopefully we get to the final and I've got surgery a few days after the tournament to get it fixed. I'm really happy about that. It's been a long time coming.
'I've got to the point where the pain isn't so bad. It's more just getting fed up with it, with players tugging on it and it getting re-arranged every time.
Bellingham scored one goal against Pachuca and was later chosen as the Player of the Match
Speaking after the game, Bellingham revealed he is looking forward to having shoulder surgery
'I think I've come to the end of my patience with it. I'm sick of playing in a brace, especially in this heat and it'll be nice to have my old body back.
'I'm at that point where I'm ready to have a free shoulder and a free body.'
Madrid — who drew 1-1 with Al-Hilal in their opening group game at the Club World Cup — will qualify for the last 16 if they beat Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday night.
That game is likely to witness the return of Kylian Mbappe following a brief bout of gastroenteritis.

Tottenham flop, 31, who cost club £8m has contract ripped up by Romanian club as career hits new low
Tottenham flop Clinton Njie has hit a new career low - with a Romanian club ripping up his contract. The Cameroon striker joined Spurs from Lyon for £8.3million in 2015. 2 2 However, he failed to start a single Premier League game, and remained goalless in 14 senior appearances. Njie went on to play for Marseille, Dynamo Moscow and Turkish club Sivasspor before moving to Rapid Bucharest last September. He signed a deal until 2026, with the Romanians announcing him in a bizarre video alongside former US president Bill Clinton. But Njie made just a dozen appearances, scoring twice, and has not played for the capital city side since February 2. They have now parted company with the 31-year-old, who has won 42 Cameroon caps. Rapid issued a terse statement on social media. They announced: "FC Rapid and Cameroonian striker Clinton Njie reached an amicable agreement for the termination of the collaboration. "Thank you, Clinton! Good luck in your career." Njie said: "I thank everyone at Rapid for this period, colleagues, staff and supporters. "It was an intense experience, in a club with a special history and atmosphere. "I wish the boys the best of luck next season, and I hope Rapid gets where it deserves to be." Rapid finished sixth in Romania 's Liga 1. They last won the national title in 2003. To add to Njie's woes, a French court has ordered him to pay a car rental firm £56,000. The trial at Aix-en-Provence heard the footballer leased a Bentley worth £275,000 in 2017, but stopped making payments when he left for Dynamo Moscow two years later.

Seattle Sounders vs PSG prediction, odds and betting offer
After their shock defeat to Botafogo, PSG will be looking to react strongly in their final group stage match against Seattle Sounders The Club World Cup is heating up, and Paris Saint-Germain is gearing up to face Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field this Monday. The stakes are high for the recently crowned European champions who started the tournament on a high note, thrashing Atletico Madrid 4-0 in a stunning display of football prowess last Sunday. But the ride was not smooth for long. Luis Enrique's squad experienced a jolting reality check when they fell to a surprise 1-0 defeat at the hands of Botafogo on the second matchday. This unexpected setback has put PSG in a precarious position where they need to secure maximum points in their final group match to evade an unanticipated early departure from the tournament. However, PSG's road to redemption won't be unobstructed. The Seattle Sounders, although on the brink of elimination from the Club World Cup, stand as potential spoilers. The Rave Green haven't had the best start to their campaign, suffering defeats in both their matches against Botafogo and Atletico Madrid. Yet, they could still pose a significant challenge for PSG in the upcoming clash. ESPN star Jay Harris shares major update amid devastating cancer battle
SportsCenter host and popular ESPN anchor Jay Harris received good news after his recent prostate cancer surgery. 'My doctor said the surgery went really well – so well, in fact, that the cancer that was in my prostate stayed there,' the 60-year-old married father said in a self-shot social media video. 'Didn't spread to any surrounding areas. So when he took the prostate out, he took that with it. So it's all good. There are other details that I won't bore you with. The main thing is, we're all good and looking forward to July 12, getting back to SportsCenter, getting back to work. 'Just home, resting up, chilling,' he continued. 'Appreciate the prayers and the thoughts and the messages and the calls and the deliveries. Thank you so much. Appreciate all the love and I will holler.' Harris' t-shirt in the clip is emblazed with the image of wrestling legend Ric Flair, who recently revealed his second battle with skin cancer. Harris recently announced his prostate cancer diagnosis and his planned surgery on ABC's Good Morning America earlier this month. 'My doctor's quite optimistic, per my last scan, nothing has spread,' he told ABC host and former New York Giants star Michael Strahan. 'So, once we take out the prostate, hopefully that will be it. That's the goal.' So far, so good, as Harris revealed Monday. Harris told Strahan he came forward with his diagnosis to help other men, especially African Americans, see the signs of the disease and get themselves checked. 'Because we don't talk. I was at a golf trip with some buddies of mine and we were just sitting around talking about things that I probably can't talk about on television right now. And I mentioned the news to them, I told them what was going on with me. And then the conversation from there was fantastic,' Harris added. 'By not talking about them, I hate to be morbid, but we sentenced ourselves to death for not talking. They had no idea until I brought it up.' Harris also revealed that his dad had the same disease. The broadcaster also stated that men should take a cue from women and get regular health check-ups. Harris' frequent co-anchor Hannah Storm was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer last year and has been checking in on her on-screen partner throughout the process. Fellow ESPNer and former Showtime boxing announcer Brian Custer has also been a help after undergoing a similar surgery, Harris said.
