Ugreen Unleashes The World's Most Powerful Charger Based On GaN Technology
The new Ugreen Nexode 500W Charger is designed for high-power requirements and can supply up to 240W ... More from a single USB-C port, more than enough for any laptop made now or in the future.
Computer accessory brand Ugreen has been going head-to-head with Anker Innovations with its range innovative docking stations, hubs, chargers and power supplies. Now the company has taken the step of unveiling the world's first 500W GaN charger.
The Nexode 500W charger features six USB ports and it's the first 500W fast charger for desktop use. Thanks to gallium nitride technology rather than the less efficient traditional silicon technology, the new charger can simultaneously supply six devices with up to 500W of power shared across six USB ports.
Combining the charging power of GaN and the intelligent safety systems that are now appearing in many next-generation chargers, this latest model from Ugreen provides near-universal compatibility and is designed to meet the kinds of performance demands that professionals, gamers, tech-savvy households and office workgroups need to keep laptops, smartphones and gadgets charged and powered.
The new Ugreen Nexode 500W charger is based around gallium nitride technology and has five USB-C ... More ports and a USB-A port.
The Nexode 500W 6-Port GaN Desktop Fast Charger eliminates the need for multiple adapters because it has five USB-C ports plus a single USB-A port for legacy items. The new charger can provide concurrent fast charging across all six devices.
The chunky charger is able to handle five power-hungry and high-end laptops plus a smartphone or tablet, all from the one unit. Despite its powerful output of half a kilowatt, the charger has a relatively compact size and won't clutter workspaces.
The Ugreen Nexode 500W is suitable for powering multiple laptops during meetings.
One of the charger's five USB-C ports can deliver up to a maximum of 240W to a single device, which is more than enough to take care of charging an Apple MacBook Pro 16 at maximum charging speed, refuelling to 60% battery capacity in around 30 minutes. Although there are very few devices currently on the market that need the full 240W USB-C output, Ugreen decided to add the high-power option to the charger in anticipation of future technology developments.
At its core, the ne charger has six integrated GaN chips that achieve a 95% energy conversion rate. This efficiency minimizes heat output and reduces energy loss. The device aslo has multi-channel NTC sensors that monitor device temperatures in real-time, ensuring a stable and safe charging environment even when under a continuous 500W load.
The Ugreen Nexode 500W charger has a heavy duty power input and can handle voltages from 100 to ... More 240V, so it's suitable for most countries with an appropiate power cable.
The advanced safety features onboard prevent any overheating or damage to devices during prolonged and high-intensity use. It means the charger is suitable for use in demanding environments such as shared offices, design studios and high-performance gaming setups.
The Ugreen Nexode 500W cahrger supports PD 3.1/3.0/2.0, QC 3.0, PPS, AFC, FCP, Apple 5V/2.4A, as well as BC 1.2 protocols. This ensures broad compatibility with nearly every laptop on the market as well as most smartphones, tablets, portable speakers and computer accessories.
The charger has adaptive power distribution that dynamically allocates power based on the client device's requirements. Higher-wattage devices get priority while there are optimal speeds for lower-wattage devices—such as smartphones—and power is intelligently supplied without the need for manual intervention or settings.
The new Ugreen Nexode 500W Desktop GaN Charger is shipping now and is priced at $249.99 in the U.S. from Amazon.com and Ugreen.com. In the U.K., the device is available from Amazon UK and is priced at £219.99.
