Giants' Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston Having 'More Giggles' in New York
Giants' Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston Having 'More Giggles' in New York originally appeared on Athlon Sports. With all of the flack that veteran quarterback Russell Wilson has been getting over the last few seasons, playing football has most likely not been as fun for him as it used to be. Advertisement But now that he is with the New York Giants, it seems that things may have changed for Wilson. The 36-year-old field general recently spoke with the media, and he talked a bit about how fun his time in New York has already been with his new teammates. "Man, it's been a joy," Wilson said. "I think if I had to describe it, just the joy to be able to do what I love to do, number one – and number two, to do it with the people that you really want to be around... Just being here and the extra time that we've put in watching film, doing all the necessary things to be great. I think that's been the joy of it, man. That's why you love the game, the obsession of it all. That's the good part." Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston recently gave the team a new motto of "more giggles, more laughter, more fun," and that seems to be the case so far for Wilson in the Big Apple. The Giants were dead last in the NFC East in 2024 with a 3-14 record, but Winston also said that this team does not have the look of that kind of team. Wilson finished this past season with 16 touchdowns on just five interceptions with the Pittsburgh Steelers, so he showed that he can still get the job done. Advertisement New York has only made the playoffs twice in the last 10 seasons, so Wilson and Winston will be looking to help lead the team back to the postseason. Chiefs Could Be Fit for Do-It-All Cordarrelle Patterson in Trade With Steelers
Chiefs Could Be Fit for Do-It-All Cordarrelle Patterson in Trade With Steelers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Cordarrelle Patterson is one of the most talented do-it-all weapons in terms of catching the ball and more that this generation has seen, but he does not have a large role with his current team. Advertisement Per David Latham of Last Word on Sports, Patterson is somewhat on the outs with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the team could look to trade him. And he thinks that the Kansas City Chiefs could be a potential landing spot for the veteran back. "Seeing as he's played on six separate teams, it's a little surprising that Andy Reid never got his hands on Cordarrelle Patterson," Latham wrote. "Reid is perhaps the best coach in the league when it comes to scheming targets to the running back, but he hasn't had a player capable of making the most of those opportunities in quite some time." The Chiefs have a very solid running back in Isiah Pacheco, and he's beefed up a bit this year to aid in his downhill style. He can also contribute in the passing game, but maybe not in the same way Patterson might. The 34-year-old running back/receiver/kick returner has had seasons where he has finished with over 450 receiving yards. While he might not be that player anymore as a result of his age, he could certainly bring some of that to the table in Kansas City. ... while helping on special teams as well. Advertisement The Chiefs are coming off of a loss in the Super Bowl this past season, so loading up on veterans like Patterson who are hungry for a ring is motivation enough to consider this idea ... especially if the Steelers are prepared to simply trade-dump him. NFL Legend Dan Marino Fires Shot at Tom Brady
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The NFL has seen a lot of great quarterbacks come and go throughout the history of the league. Many believe that the top quarterback of all-time happens to be Tom Brady. Brady put together a historical career. He led his teams to seven Super Bowl wins and won three MVP's throughout his career. While many do not argue against Brady being the "GOAT" among all-time quarterbacks, there is one NFL legend has spoken out with a different opinion. Photo byDuring an appearance at Fanatics Fest, former Miami Dolphins superstar quarterback Dan Marino opened up about who he thinks is the best quarterback of all-time. Marino is mentioned in the conversation of best quarterbacks ever as well. Read more: Tom Brady Names the Greatest Wide Receiver in NFL History His opinion is that San Francisco 49ers legend Joe Montana is the best quarterback of all-time. He also took the opportunity to fire a shot at Brady in the process of making his pick. "Tom Brady was pretty good too but he had deflated balls," Marino said. Bringing up one of the dark moments of Brady's career was clear shade. Marino may have said it in good fun, but it was still a shot nonetheless. Montana is always mentioned as one of the top quarterbacks of all-time. He certainly belongs on that list, but Brady has more accolades attached to his name. In Montana's career, he won four Super Bowls and was named the NFL MVP twice. Those are impressive accolades, but Brady has him beat. Granted, they played in very different eras. Brady played in a league that focused on the passing game, while Montana played when the running game was a much bigger focus than it has become today. Throughout his NFL career, Brady played in 335 games. He completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 89,214 yards, 649 touchdowns, and 212 interceptions. Marino has now made his thoughts on the debate crystal clear. He's rolling with Montana, but there is still a large general belief that Brady is deserving of the title. At the very least, Marino's opinion will open up the debate again and provide entertainment to football fans who want to argue about the all-time quarterback rankings.
