Google Pixel 9A Deals: $50 Off, Free With New Line or Trade-In
Offering many of the same features as its pricier alternatives, the Google Pixel 9A is one of the absolute best values on the market right now. It's a top phone of 2025 and a great pick for those on a tight budget with a starting price of just $499. Plus, there are plenty of ways to get your hands on one for even less right now.
From trade-in offers to straightforward discounts, there are tons of deals available and we've rounded up some of the best ones below.
As with its predecessor, the new 9A is an incredible value and matches -- or exceeds -- the main Pixel 9 in some categories. It has a more substantial battery (though it charges slower) and uses the same Tensor G4 chipset as the flagship lineup, which means it also supports Gemini AI features. The phone has the same screen as the basic Pixel 9, with a 6.3-inch OLED display and 2,700 nits of brightness. You're sacrificing a bit of memory at just 8GB of RAM and some image resolution on the rear camera. Get all the details in our full breakdown.

I've used every iPhone and can promise you don't need to wait for the iPhone 17
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The iPhone 17 will likely launch in a few months, but what if you need a new phone right now? Should you wait for the next iPhone? Definitely not. I can help you pick a phone that you'll love for years, and won't regret buying when you see what Apple has next. To buy a new phone, you need to answer three questions for me. Are you willing to sign a contract? Would you consider a pre-owned iPhone? Are you sure about getting an iPhone versus an Android? Here's the best iPhone for you. If you don't have $1,000 / £1,000 / AU$1,800 to spend on a new iPhone 16 Pro, you might consider signing up for a new contract with a wireless carrier. If you're not entirely happy with your old carrier, most carriers will give you a free phone if you switch. With three months to go until a new iPhone arrives, I'm seeing wireless carriers clearing out inventory. In the US right now, all three major wireless carriers will give you a free iPhone 16 Pro for switching. You'll need to stay with them for two years (T-Mobile) or three years (AT&T and Verizon), depending on the carrier, and you'll need to subscribe to an unlimited data plan, but it's a good deal if those conditions fit your needs. If you need to save money and don't want to sign up with a wireless carrier, you can also shop for renewed or refurbished devices. I've had a great experience buying used devices on in the US, but Best Buy, Amazon, and other major retailers sell refreshed products at a discount. I would recommend an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max as the oldest refreshed iPhone you should consider. Those phones have a great reputation for battery life and performance. Also, Apple gave the iPhone 13 Pro a major camera upgrade over the iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone cameras haven't improved dramatically since. If you want a new iPhone, I'd recommend the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro (including the Plus and Max models). Compared to the new iPhone 16 family, the only feature that you'll lose is the Camera Control button, and frankly… I think you're better off without it. In my experience, the Camera Control has been buggy and inconsistent. I prefer using the Action Button – first launched on the iPhone 15 Pro – to open the camera instead. I wouldn't buy a new iPhone older than an iPhone 15, because older iPhone models use Lightning for charging and cables, and you don't want to be stuck with an old connector on its way to the connector's graveyard. The iPhone 15 and newer iPhones use USB-C. This universal connector makes a huge difference when shopping for accessories or just borrowing a charger. The iPhone I would avoid is the new iPhone 16e. While it looks good on a spec sheet, in practice, the iPhone 16e compromises too much to make it a better choice than buying a slightly older iPhone 15. A new iPhone 15 is only $100 / £100 / AU$300 more than the iPhone 16e, but it offers a more iPhone-like experience. First of all, you get much better cameras – two sensors instead of one, including an ultra-wide lens. Second, you get MagSafe, which is a huge part of Apple's accessory ecosystem. MagSafe accessories include batteries, wallets, grips, cases, wireless chargers, and much more. I pop my iPhone sideways onto a wireless stand every night, and it becomes my Standby bedside clock. You can't do that without MagSafe. What if you want to venture outside Apple's walled garden? Have you been admiring the green grass on the Android lawn? Assuming you are coming from an iPhone, I have a suggestion that will be an easy transition to enjoy. These phones are a great choice today and will be fun to own for years The OnePlus 13 is the best Android phone for iPhone switchers. OnePlus has an elegant interface that will be somewhat familiar and easy to pick up. The phone itself is polished and well-built, and it is impressively durable. I watched a OnePlus representative wash the phone in a dishwasher with plates and cups. The OnePlus 13 has incredibly fast charging and amazing battery life that will last you more than a full day. It performs as fast as any phone I've tested. Its cameras are excellent and produce photos that are stylish and unique, thanks to OnePlus's partnership with Hasselblad cameras. If you need a new phone right now, don't wait until September. I don't expect any groundbreaking innovation from Apple this year, and these phones are a great choice today and will be fun to own for years. The iPhone 17 will arrive with a totally new look, and you can just shake it off and read the news from your brand new phone. iPhone 17 Pro: latest rumors, tips and everything we've heard so far The iPhone 17 could come with a nasty price hike – here's how Ready for an iPhone upgrade? The filmmaker behind the AI-generated Kalshi ad built an AI studio. It didn't kick off until Veo 3 launched.
PJ Accetturo was at a conference in San Francisco about half a mile from Google's I/O keynote address in May when he heard about the tech giant's new tool, Veo 3. "That was the big aha moment I had," Accetturo told Business Insider in an interview. A few months prior, Accetturo launched an AI film studio hoping to capitalize on an untapped opportunity in the filmmaking industry, where he had built his career as a commercial director. While his videos generated thousands of views, he was struggling to find a way to monetize the content. Accetturo said Veo 3 was the perfect format for "making fun of commercials." The Google filmmaking tool has expanded AI cinematography capabilities, making video and audio integration more seamless. Why Accetturo decided to try using Veo 3 While some have expressed concern about AI use in filmmaking for multiple reasons, including its potential to displace workers, Accetturo said he didn't "have a ton of reputation to lose" by being among the first to try. He viewed the challenge of making AI film content as a way to differentiate himself, though, saying that he thought the first person who made a viral commercial ad with Veo 3 would "win." "I'm a perfectly mediocre director," Accetturo said, adding that if he made it as the first big AI director in the space, he'd be a "really big fish in a small pond." For his first project with Veo 3, Accetturo decided to release a parody pharmaceutical commercial called "Puppramin," in which puppies cured depression. He said he stayed up until 3 a.m. making the video with Veo 3. Accetturo said he had finally found the right medium to attract companies. The next day, he said betting company Kalshi reached out and asked him to do a commercial for the NBA finals. How the $2,000 Kalshi ad came together The commercial featured absurd scenes, including a farmer floating in a pool of eggs and an alien chugging beer. A Kalshi spokesperson previously told BI that the video went from idea to live ad in three days and hit around 18 million impressions across mediums in the first 48 hours after it launched. Accetturo said he's currently in discussions with other brands about similar collaborations but isn't ready to name them until the deals are finalized. He added that roughly 400 people have applied to join his studio in the past week. Prior to the ad's release, he had brought on just a few contractors. "It's just kind of been this explosion, pipe bomb in my hand," Accetturo said. Accetturo said he's charging businesses five-figure fees, while his production costs cap at around $2,000 per video. Meanwhile, he said traditional commercial shoots can involve crews of 20 to 100 people and cost companies hundreds of thousands. Accetturo said companies are exploring the possibility of commercial ad campaigns on social media, or ads that could run weekly or daily. For Accetturo, the opportunity could be a game changer. Instead of spending weeks working before and after the shoot, he can spend a couple of days in his underwear creating the entire ad, he said. How AI speeds up his work Accetturo has used — and continues to use — plenty of other AI tools in his production work, like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Midjourney. He said AI chatbots help him write jokes and organize scripts into shot lists. They also assist in building prompt structures with elements like time of day, lighting, characters, and dialogue. Then it fills in the details and generates about 10 prompts he can plug into Veo 3. While he said he typically has to run the process 20 to 30 times to fine-tune the nuances, he said the advantage of Veo 3 is that it renders everything in "one shot," allowing him to meet tight production deadlines. "I just type in text and I get the voices, the sound effects, like everything," Accetturo said. Accetturo said this type of format will likely turn any roles that are "ancillary to the creative core," which he considers to include writing and directing positions, increasingly unnecessary. He said lighting, catering, sound mixers — and even actors to some degree — will no longer be needed. For a TV show he's developing, for instance, Accetturo said he hired one actor and used AI to transform that voice into multiple characters. When asked about whether AI will eventually replace the creative roles as well, Accetturo said he doesn't think AI will surpass human taste in creativity in the near future, but it's a possibility in the next five to 10 years. Right now, people seem to be drawn to the "unhinged Grand Theft Auto-style" of commercials that Veo 3 can generate. However, Accetturo said the approach might not work forever — and if that's the case, he says he'll find the next thing that does.

Google app is now home to your Pinterest-like personalized image feed
Aamir Siddiqui / Android Authority TL;DR Google has started rolling out a new 'Images' tab in the latest beta version of the Google app. The Images tab lets users select interest categories, such as fashion or home decor, to build a tailored visual feed using publicly available search images, similar to platforms like Pinterest. The feature is currently limited to beta users for testing and feedback, with potential for wider rollout soon. We've previously spotted Google working on a Pinterest-like feed within the Google app that would show people images, seemingly inspiring them on topics like fashion, interior design, and more. The feature was a work-in-progress at the time, and we had to jump through hoops to give you the first look. Google is now closer to releasing the feature to the masses, as the Google app's Images tab has started rolling out to users. With Google app v16.23.71 beta, we can spot the new Images tab rolling out widely. When you launch the new Images tab in the Google app for the first time, you'll be asked to select at least three topics, like Fashion, Home Decor, Travel, etc. Selecting your interests will create your personalized image feed with publicly available images from Google Search. If you like an image, you long-press on it to share it, save it to your collection, or search it with Google Lens. You can also hide images from your feed. This feature is currently rolling out to beta users. Based on their feedback, Google will make tweaks and fix any bugs before deciding whether to release it to the public. Given the state of finish, we're optimistic about the feature rolling out to users in the stable branch soon. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
