Haier Ranks First in Industry on the Top 50 2025 Chinese Global Brand Builders List, Maintains Top 10 Position for 9 Consecutive Years

LINGSHUI, China, June 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Haier has once again secured the top position in the home appliance category on the prestigious Top 50 2025 Chinese Global Brand Builders List, jointly released by Google and Kantar BrandZ. This marks the third consecutive year Haier has led the industry category and the ninth consecutive year it has remained among the top 10 Chinese global brands, further solidifying its global brand influence.
Recognized as one of the most authoritative global brand valuation systems, the Top 50 2025 Chinese Global Brand Builders list covers 11 major global markets, including the U.S., U.K., France, Japan, and India, and evaluates brands across 15 key categories, such as home appliances, consumer electronics, and automotive. The ranking is based on a robust methodology that combines Google Surveys, Google Search Index, and Kantar's BrandZ database, the world's largest brand analytics platform.
Haier's global success stems from decades of strategic commitment to long-term growth and independent branding. Back in the 1990s, instead of OEM export like other manufacturers, Haier took a different path, insisting on developing its own brand and entering mature markets, such as Europe and the U.S., before expanding to developing regions, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This journey, grounded in reinvestment and sustainable growth, enabled Haier to achieve financial self-sufficiency in overseas markets by 2016.
To this end, Haier established a globally integrated 3-in-1 strategy (localized R&D, manufacturing, and marketing) to precisely meet the diverse needs of users across different regions. For instance, in regard to energy scarcity and high prices in Europe, the Haier X11 washing machine was launched with its eco-friendly technology features and enhanced energy-saving capabilities, offering 60% energy savings compared to Europe's rigorous A-class standards.
Throughout its globalization journey, Haier has also actively partnered with prestigious tennis tournaments, including Roland-Garros, ATP Tour, Australian Open, and China Open, leveraging the premium sports IPs that resonate deeply with global sports fans and high-end consumers. These collaborations reinforce Haier's brand image of "cutting-edge innovation" and "premium lifestyle" in the minds of consumers worldwide.
In 2024, Haier Group reported global revenue of USD 55.9 billion, an 8% year-on-year increase, and total global profit of USD 4.2 billion, up 13% year-on-year. Haier Smart Home's overseas revenue now accounts for over 50% of its total business, reflecting the company's solid global positioning. As one of the first Chinese enterprises to establish a global brand presence, Haier has been ranked No.1 Major Appliances Brand for 16 consecutive years according to Euromonitor, demonstrating a sustainable and powerful global competitive advantage.
To date, Haier has established its presence in over 200 countries and regions around the world, achieving leading market positions in key countries including China, the United States, and New Zealand.
In Europe, Haier continues to lead across multiple core markets. In Japan, the combined market share of the Haier and AQUA brands ranks No.1 in the refrigeration category. In Southeast Asia, Haier holds the No.1 overall market share. In Thailand, it ranks No.1 in white goods, chest freezers, and air conditioners. In Vietnam, Haier is No.1 in refrigerators and washing machines, while in Malaysia, it leads in both residential air conditioners and chest freezers. The brand has entered the top three in nine major markets such as India and Italy, and ranks among the top five in countries including the United Kingdom and the Philippines.
With Haier's long-term and unwavering commitment to the "3-in-1" strategy, integrating an empowered localized approach and continuous product innovation, the brand aims to create a better life for users around the world.

To mark this new milestone in its network expansion, Hong Kong Airlines held celebratory events at both Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and Sydney Airport (SYD). Prior to departure, a launch ceremony was held at the boarding gate of the HKIA. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr Jeff Sun, President of Hong Kong Airlines; Mr Ian McGraw from the Australian Consulate-General in Hong Kong; Ms Carmen Tam and Ms Vivien Yuen from Tourism Australia; Ms Jennifer Tung from Destination New South Wales; and Mr Ricky Chong from Airport Authority Hong Kong. The guests interacted with passengers and presented them with bespoke souvenirs to commemorate the historic occasion. During the event, Hong Kong Airlines President Mr Jeff Sun stated: "As a full-service local carrier, the launch of our Sydney service marks a significant step in our transformation to an international airline. Sydney is not only a popular destination for leisure and business travel but also one of Australia's most vital economic hubs. The expansion of the bilateral traffic rights agreement allows us to offer more choice to travellers in both cities, strengthening the connection between them." He added, "While Hong Kong Airlines may be a younger brand in the mature Australian market, we are endeavouring in our commitment to providing quality service. We operate this route with our Airbus A330 aircraft, featuring comfortable business and economy class cabins, and strive to deliver a passenger-centric in-flight experience through attentive service and fine dining for our long-haul customers." Sydney Airport CEO Mr Scott Charlton said: "We're proud to welcome Hong Kong Airlines to Sydney as our 52nd airline partner with its strong reputation for service excellence, efficiency and value. This inaugural service comes on the back of the first expansion in bilateral air traffic rights between Australia and Hong Kong in 19 years and we thank the Albanese Federal Government for its role in enabling this important agreement, which reflects the strength of our longstanding cultural and economic ties." NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper, said: "Hong Kong is a priority international market for NSW, with incoming travellers contributing substantially to the NSW visitor economy. The Minns Labor Government has made it very clear; we want to grow our visitor economy and the best way to do this is by increasing airline capacity and unlocking new international markets for NSW. We've set our sights on increasing the state's aviation capacity by 8.5 million seats, and this new Hong Kong route will complement other new routes we're securing as we work towards landing this goal." Mr Wang Yu, Consul General of People's Republic of China (Sydney), said: "As the second Hong Kong-based airline to operate the Hong Kong–Sydney route, Hong Kong Airlines not only provides a convenient new option for traveling between China and Australia, but also contributes to enhanced exchanges among students, tourists, business professionals and friends from all walks of life. This new service will strengthen Hong Kong and Sydney's role as vital gateways for the flow of people and goods, injecting fresh momentum into the economic and cultural ties between China and Australia. Its launch will also attract more international travelers to transit through Hong Kong or Sydney, further strengthening both cities' positions as global aviation hubs and creating new opportunities for trade and investment. Looking ahead, the Consulate-General of China in Sydney will continue to encourage and support airlines from both China and Australia in restoring or launching new routes based on the principle of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. We believe that Hong Kong Airlines will continuously enhance its service quality and showcase a good corporate image." Also in attendance at the Sydney welcome ceremony were representatives from the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney, Destination NSW and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Sydney). US may target Samsung, Hynix, TSMC operations in China, sources say

The US Department of Commerce is considering revoking authorizations granted in recent years to global chipmakers Samsung, SK Hynix and TSMC, making it more difficult for them to receive US goods and technology at their plants in China, according to people familiar with the matter. The chances of the United States withdrawing the authorizations are unclear. But with such a move, it would be harder for foreign chipmakers to operate in China, where they produce semiconductors used in a wide range of industries. A White House official said the US was "just laying the groundwork" in case the truce reached between the two countries fell apart. But the official expressed confidence that the trade agreement would go forward and that rare earths would flow from China, as agreed. "There is currently no intention of deploying this tactic," the official said. "It's another tool we want in our toolbox in case either this agreement falls through or any other catalyst throws a wrench in bilateral relations." Shares of US chip equipment makers that supply plants in China fell when the Wall Street Journal first reported the news earlier on Friday. KLA Corp dropped 2.4 percent, Lam Research fell 1.9 percent and Applied Materials sank 2 percent. Shares of Micron, a major competitor to Samsung and SK Hynix in the memory chip sector, rose 1.5 percent. A TSMC spokesman declined comment. Samsung and Hynix did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Lam Research, KLA and Applied Materials did not immediately respond, either. In October 2022, after the United States placed sweeping restrictions on US chipmaking equipment to China, it gave foreign manufacturers like Samsung and Hynix letters authorizing them to receive goods. In 2023 and 2024, the companies received what is known as Validated End User status in order to continue the trade. A company with VEU status is able to receive designated goods from a US company without the supplier obtaining multiple export licenses to ship to them. VEU status enables entities to receive US-controlled products and technologies "more easily, quickly and reliably," as the Commerce Department website puts it. The VEU authorizations come with conditions, a person familiar with the matter said, including prohibitions on certain equipment and reporting requirements. 'Chipmakers will still be able to operate in China," a Commerce Department spokesperson said in a statement when asked about the possible revocations. "The new enforcement mechanisms on chips mirror licensing requirements that apply to other semiconductor companies that export to China and ensure the United States has an equal and reciprocal process.' Industry sources said that if it became more difficult for US semiconductor equipment companies to ship to foreign multinationals, it would only help domestic Chinese competitors.
