On April 17, 2025 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa, Igor Bely, met with the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Alvin Botes, on the completion of his diplomatic mission.
The parties discussed the development of Belarusian-South African relations, plans for further strengthening of political and institutional dialogue, mutually beneficial economic and scientific-technical cooperation, as well contacts in sports area.

UAE condemns attack on church in Damascus

The UAE on Sunday condemned the bombing at Mar Elias Church in Damascus, which killed nearly two dozen people. The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch said in a statement: "The treacherous hand of evil struck this evening, claiming our lives, along with the lives of our loved ones who fell today as martyrs during the evening divine liturgy." It was the first such attack in the capital since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in December.

South Africa urges dialogue to end Israel-Iran conflict
