THE most iconic beaches in the world have been revealed, and one is in the UK.
Durdle Door in Dorset has been named by National Geographic in the list of must-see beaches which includes other coastlines in Australia and the Seychelles.

National Geographic has declared Durdle Door as a beach "worth travelling for" because of its "showstopper" shore and rock formations.
The beach on the Jurassic Coast is known for its unique natural limestone arch.
The world-famous Durdle Door arch formed over millions of years by erosion caused by the crashing sea.
The beach is a popular spot with approximately 500,000 visitors going to see the impressive coastline every year.
While it may be the only UK beach on the list, Durdle Door has been likened to beaches overseas, especially in the summer.
In recent years, beach-goers have taken to Tripadvisor to rave about the Durdle Door that they've likened to beaches in Portugal or California.
One person wrote: "Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door: Reminded me of the Algarve in Portugal!"
Another added: "You don't feel like you are in the UK. It seems more like Portugal or California."
Durdle Door is such a famous beach that it's even been used in TV series.
In recent years, TV shows like Doctor Who and Far From the Madding Crowd have also been filmed on the beach.

The second season of The Sandman starring Jenna Coleman was also filmed at the holiday hotspot.
The beach has also welcomed the likes of Hollywood when it was used as the backdrop for Pirates of the Caribbean.
The village nearest to Durdle Door is West Lulworth, a beautiful village known for its thatched cottages and window boxes.
Assistant Travel Editor Sophie Swietochowski visited Durdle Door, and revealed that it's actually like.
Sophie said: "Despite the Jurassic Coast being one of the most well-known spots for rambling in the UK, it has managed to remain gloriously peaceful.
"I barely passed another soul during a Sunday hike along the rugged coastal path above Durdle Door a few years back – only a herd of cows munching on the unkempt grass at the top of the cliff.
"Admittedly, things grew a little busier as I approached Lulworth Cove.
"But that's no surprise with a horseshoe-shaped pebble bay and turquoise waters that could rival those in the Caribbean."

Locals have been invited to give feedback on the more detailed plans in preparation for a planning application which will be submitted in 2025. The scheme, which would begin in October 2026 at the earliest, will see three areas of Cambridge upgraded. The council website explained: "The ambition of the Civic Quarter project is to improve the experience of everyone visiting the city centre by creating more inclusive and accessible buildings, and better public spaces where people can meet and enjoy cultural events." Advertisement It also added that the project will enhance heritage sites as well as reduce water use and carbon emissions. The Cambridge Market is a huge part of the city, having begun operating in the Middle Ages. It is currently open Monday to Saturday with around 100 stalls selling all sorts, from food to flowers, locally made clothes and accessories. As part of the project, the market will open seven days a week and will have new permanent stalls alongside the temporary fixtures. It hasn't had running water for a long time and is often used as seating by the public. The Corn Exchange is a Grade II listed building which is used as an events and concert space and is also set to undergo some changes. As it is listed not many changes can be made, but the venue will be improved with energy-saving features, like solar panels. Advertisement There will also be the addition of a sound and audio system to improve the overall experience at the venue. The capacity for attendees will be able to increase, and there will be more concessions and bar areas. The Guildhall, which is a civic building, is used for events like weddings, craft workshops and exhibitions. Improvements made will be to reduce energy use and install a customer service centre, public cafe and work spaces. An adult passport is valid for 10 years while a children's passport is valid for five. An increase in fees could see travellers charged £32 more per application, according to The Telegraph. This comes as the Passport Office recorded a budget deficit of almost £230million last year and £916million over the past five years. Advertisement The National Audit Office (NAO) said the increased fees will fill a "black hole" currently being paid for by taxpayer funds. Adults currently pay £94.50 for a new passport or £222 for a one-day renewal. Passport renewal fees have already seen a hike of £6 this year. In April, the cost of applying for a new passport online increased from £88.50 to £94.50 for adults, and from £69 to £74 for kids.
